Rush and Gia’s story continues in the gripping conclusion to the New York Times bestseller, Rebel Heir…How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:Sleep with your boss. Check.Blow all your money on a rental you can’t afford. Check. How to walk away from a man you fall in love with at the end of a summer:…I’ll let you know when I figure it out.
Rebel Heart is book 2 in the Rush Series Duet and it starts right where book one Rebel Heir finished and once again our emotions are off on a roller coaster. I really don’t want to write a review that’s full of spoilers because I do believe this is a must read duet and I don’t want to spoil this story for anyone .
I fell for Rush in book one but in book two my feelings soared to a whole different level because this man is just perfect and this story just felt so true to life, my emotions were pulled in so many different directions but in the end I was left feeling fuzzy and warm inside. The journey Rush and Gia needed to take to get their HEA wasn’t plain sailing there were so many obstacles they had to overcome but facing them together made them both so much stronger.
This book is a love story like no other because Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward are not afraid to show there characters vulnerability as well as there strengths, Rush and Gia are perfect for each other but not before they face the challenges fate has put in their way.
Looking forward to more from this very talented writing duo.
Okay here’s the thing. I hardly ever read or seek out duets. Why? Because when the second part comes around I mostly will have forgotten the first part. But come on, this is a book written by Vi and Penelope. I downloaded Rebel Heart at 3 am, started immediately, got home but I needed to go to sleep because I had another night shift to do. I had no choice in the matter, I had to read the last word written.
So therefore, it’s basically these 2 authors fault that I’m sleep deprived and have a book hangover. They tend to do this to me a lot. This 6 star story was just perfect. I wouldn’t change anything about it.
This is the second part in the Duet. Rebel Heart picks up where Rebel Heir concluded with a draw dropping cliffhanger. Rush was perfectly created to make me fall in love all over again with him. An alpha, protective foul mouthed man that is so conflicted with a decision he needs to make. He made me swoon, gave me goosebumps and made me laugh so many times to count. Gia was in a rather difficult situation and facing uncertainty. She was a fierce, strong woman.
This story never lacked entertainment, it was funny and of course my heart broke for Rush. I literally had goosebumps from Rush’s actions and protectiveness. These characters were perfectly created to give me a rush. An addicting and captivating storyline that had me hooked from the get go. If your like me and don’t read duets, trust me you NEED to get this one, it will leave you with a huge smile and a light heart.
Duet told in a dual POV with an amazingly written epilogue that gave me the HEA that I look for in my books. Either written together or separate, all of these authors previous titles are all worth the readers precious time and money. I strongly recommend this Duet.
4.25 stars–REBEL HEART is the second instalment in the contemporary adult THE RUSH SERIES erotic, romance duology co-authored by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. This is bar owner and businessman Heathcliff ‘Rush’ Rushmore, and romance author/bar hostess Gia Mirabelli’s continuing story. REBEL HEART should NOT be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliff hanger of book one Rebel Heir
Told from dual first person perspectives (Rush and Gia) REBEL HEART follows the continuing romance between bar owner and businessman Heathcliff ‘Rush’ Rushmore, and romance author/bar hostess Gia Mirabelli. At the end of book one REBEL HEIR Gia discovered her life was about to get a lot more complicated. Having met Rush’s family our heroine struggles with secrets from the past, and going forward alone without the man that she loves. While Rush struggles with the emotional fall-out, Gia must take control in order to protect more than just her heart.
REBEL HEART is a story of one man’s struggle with the past, his family, and the knowledge that he will never be good enough for the father he barely knows. Hoping never to repeat the sins of the past, Rush must come to terms with the truth, a truth that is slowly destroying his relationship with the woman he loves.
Once again, Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland pull the reader into an emotional, heart breaking and revealing story line about family, friendship, betrayal and love. The premise is dramatic and intense; the romance is erotic and provocative; the characters are coloful, energetic, charismatic and edgy. REBEL HEART is a roller coaster of emotion; of passionate hearts, and heartbreaking grief.
ARC received for an honest review
Wah! I have been waiting for Rebel Heart since the nanosecond I finished Rebel Heir, and Vi an Penelope certainly did not disappoint with this second installment of the Rush Duet.
I had a love/hate relationship with this book – I loved Gia and Rush, I hated things that Rush did. I loved them together, I hated all the crap they needed to go through. I loved Rush’s mum/Gia’s dad, I hate hate hated the rest of Rush’s family.
Gah, this book frustrated me as much as I adored it.
There are so many hoops that our lovelies now need to jump through to find their HEA, and as much as I wanted to throw my kindle across the room at times, I couldn’t wait to turn each page to find out what happens next.
I ran the full gamut of emotions with Rebel Heart – and in the end, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. They storyline took the only course it really could have realistically taken – not matter how much I didn’t want it to.
From the minute I opened up Rebel Heart, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down.
Now that I have survived the rollercoaster that is the Rush Duet, I can’t wait to see what these lovely ladies bring us next.
Fantastic book
