Once upon a time, humankind ruled the world while lycans and vampires lived in secret. This is no longer that time. WillowRun, run, run! They’re chasing me, even into my dreams. And when I awake, I see him. Striking blue eyes with a hint of the devil inside. He’s my savior and my worst nightmare combined.Because he owns me.He found me.He saved me.But I don’t want to be owned. I want to be free. … me.
He found me.
He saved me.
But I don’t want to be owned. I want to be free. Even if it kills me.
Ryder
I needed a diversion, a plaything, something to distract me from this perpetual boredom. And she appeared as if the Almighty above had heard my prayers.
Or, more accurately, the devil.
Because I’m not a good man. Humanity died inside me long ago. It was what I needed to survive.
But she’s such a pretty little thing. I think I’ll keep her and make her mine. At least for a little while. Humans are so fragile, after all.
Welcome to Ryder Region.
It might not be mine yet, but it will be soon.
For I haven’t lived this long by playing nice.
I prefer to bite.

Welcome back to the world where Vampires and Lycans rule while humans are basically cattle. While it sounds rough it draws in none the less as the story unfolds. This time we meet Willow, a human sent to the breeding farm yet she has no plan to behave herself after training to be a warrior. Given a chance she manages to escape only to run into Ryder a vampire that has been around for quite some time. He is bored of this new world but plans to foray into it regardless. After saving Willow he plans to use her for intelligence to help him navigate outside his self imposed isolation. Neither one of them are any good at doing what they are supposed to so this ends up being quite the duo. Overall a well written romance that will have you rooting for the couple as you dive right into the intriguing world. Great for fans of paranormal romance. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
Wow. This book freaking rocks! Ryder is one of my favorite characters I’ve read in a book in a long time. He reminds me of an Anne Rice or literary novel character with his complexity and depth, particularly, he made me think of Lestate to some degree. Every time Lexi comes out with a new book in this series, I keep saying it’s my favorite, but so far this one is.
And don’t forget about Willow. She’s not to be trifled with! I loved her character arc from trauma to an incredible ending. Lexi always keeps that light though. She has a way of describing things that has emotions without too much of a trigger.
And their dynamic between the two of them sizzles and also reaches an amazing emotional depth. I highly recommend this incredible vampire romance.
“This world is dark. Humans are slaves. Vampires and Lycans rule the world, because we’re the superior species.”
If you’re coming into this series now, stop! Start at book 1! It’s so worth it and fun knowing a bit more about the world and some of the other characters. (Also every second of Foss’s writing you can get is absolutely worthwhile!)
Foss is most definitely a bit twisted—I hope she doesn’t mind me saying this, as I mean it as a positive remark—creating dark worlds, unique characters and expertly weaving them together.
She also weaves danger, humor, wit, and real feels and all the while a major, world-altering war is brewing. Reading the books in this world is an adrenaline-filled experience.
“He had just slain an entire room of evil in a way I could only dream of accomplishing.” —Willow, ‘Rebel Bitten’.
5 stars.
*If you read for steamy scenes, there are some in this read which are clearly mind-blowing for the characters, and as always with Foss, they do manage to NOT be the same old steamy scenes that many romance authors write over and over again. They contain originality and atypical play. (Personally, I read more for the dark world, corruption, plot twists, etc. but these scenes serve to fuel much of that as well!)
*I cannot recommend this series hard enough … but if you’re thin-skinned, it may not be for you. It’s got some absolutely beautifully, brilliantly dark undertones.
Audio:
Kale Williams is amazing and whoa … that is one sexy voice.
Sarah Puckett is a fave of mine as well, though her penchant for mis-prounciation does trip me up at times. Overall 4-star performance from her, combined with a 5-star performance from Kale.
Lexi C. Foss has quickly become one of my favorite paranormal authors in the last year or two. She has a wicked mind in creating these alternate worlds. The characters are witty, often wicked, and each supreme in his or her world. I love this series but I would have to say Immortal Curse is my favorite.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with Ryder from our introduction to him in Blood Alliance book 3. He was certainly the wild card in this series. He wasn’t as harsh as I was afraid he would be – he was so unpredictable and that really drew me to his character. I also didn’t have high hopes that Willow would be able to survive what she had been through. There are some aspects to the story that I would love to have filled in – like the camps, what is the rest of the story of what happens besides death – perhaps they aren’t necessary to the arc of the series. Ryder and Willow set up book 5 quite nicely – Jace, I can’t wait to read your story. And will we ever find out where Cam is? Ready for book 5!!
Not only does this book look fabulous on the outside, it is brilliant on the inside. That cover…phew!! It depicts Ryder perfectly, mysterious, deadly and sexy as hell!
I read and loved Rebel Bitten a while back, but listening to the audio version has given it extra life. Told in dual pov, both narrators were excellent, very expressive. I’ve heard both before in some of the authors other series, but I have to say, Kale Williams was spot on with Ryder, exaxtly how I imagined him.
Ryder, what can you say about him. He’s a man of action and little emotion, one of the oldest vampires. Ruthless, calculating, cold, powerful, commanding, dominant – a recluse who never does what’s expected. He’s not been idle though whilst in his self imposed exile, he’s been building a fortress and watching. Now he’s out in the open, a newly appointed royal, but a rule breaker, a rebel. He sees the huge fundamental flaws and the evil cruelty of the current system and is determined to dismantle it piece by piece. This man is seriously hot, one of my favourite male characters in Lexi C Foss’s vast array of worlds.
Humans in this dark, brutal world are worthless, dispensable cattle and are classed as nothing but food and playthings. Ryder knows their importance though, afterall vampires can’t survive without them. When an injured, dying, beautiful human woman stumbles onto his territory, he sees a fire in her that has all but disappeared from most humans. He’s intrigued, so he does the unexpected and saves her life with his blood.
I loved these two, Ryder refusing to toe the line in Queen Lilith’s new world of the blood alliance. He had compassion beneath his hard exterior, even though took him a while to admit it, with the help of his feisty pet! Willow was confused as to why Ryder as a royal was so complex and completely different to everything she’d been taught. She was a strong willed survivor and hadn’t been broken despite the hell she’d been through and slowly their connection and super hot chemistry brought each other back to life, with a few fangtastic twists along the way.
This world is intense, harsh, savage and bloodthirsty at times but always there is that chink of light and hope that not everyone complies with the system. It’s full of darkness, suspense, intrigue, twists, turns, steamy hot passion and a compelling plot. I love this series, the rebellion has started and I can’t wait for happens next.
This book was so good I have so much to say that I don’t know where to start. I devoured this story. This is book 4 in the series but my first by this author and I believe first with Kale Williams narrating. Sarah Puckett is one of my favs and Kale is making the list also. They did so good narrating this one.
With this being my first in a series and it being book 4, of course, you can tell there is so much going on that were in the previous books that are mentioned in this one but I didn’t feel lost. You really felt the love and desire between these characters, Ryder and Willow. It has a trigger of rape and abuse but is eluded to and not written in major detail. This added emotion to what the characters have been through and did not turn me away. I did get this copy as a ALC but this is so good in my honest opinion, I will definitely purchase when it comes out! If you like vampires, lycans, mates and much more this one is for you.

Audiobook Review
Story & Narration
I’m still processing everything that happened, I can’t believe that I finished it in one sitting, just 1 day. But it was really good, really, really good, and with a fabulous narration that makes it a thousand times better.
Ryder wasn’t at all what I was expecting him to be, from what I have gathered from the past book I had created myself an idea of how he was going to be. Well, my assumptions were wrong, he’s so much more than what meets the eye, and I loved him, he’s just amazing.
Willow… You rock girl!!! You did the unexpected and I am so amazed by it. I cannot say more without spoiling it.
This books just keep getting better and better, and I need Kingly Bitten “pronto” now, I am going to die knowing, who, what comes next.
As for the narration, just perfection. Kale Williams was so perfect as Ryder, his voice so emotionless, “flat”, bored, just so perfect for Ryder. And Sarah Puckett was just as great for Willow. Honestly these pair never disappoints.
PFP ALC Review Team
Woah, you want to talk about excited. Yes let’s do that because let me just say that this book was viciously excitingly dark and just the way I like it. If you have triggers then you may want to tread carefully. So let’s get to this. The day that she was told she was going to the breeding camps is the day she realized that she needs to leave. Let’s say that it was not easy at all. Then Ryder finds her on his lands but is intrigued by her. Willow is a warrior in her own right so she fought. There is something lurking inside her that makes her a bit different. Ryder is a very old vampire and not like the rest of them. This story held me hostage all the way to the end. I mean I couldn’t put it down and their journey is fascinating. You would not think that someone else’s darkness could be some else’s light or hope. Will the warrior rise up or fall to the goddess. This series has been one of the best series I have read this year.
Rebel Bitten (Blood Alliance Book 4) by Lexi C. Foss is such a fantastic story that I have read. This is book number four in this fantastic series that I have loved reading and can not wait to finish this fantastic series. I highly recommend this story to everyone.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
This was … fudge
Intense – emotional – soooo unexpected
No Spoilers – This episode contains some major turning points for our band of misfits Let’s be honest here they are quite the collection of personalities.
The emotional whammies begin during the opening scene and,
in true Foss fashion, do not stop!
I was a complete emotional mess –
I jest you not – I read this in one sitting
Willow awakens panicked and very confused but determined not to die at the feet of her abusers –
She didn’t fight this long to give up now.
Anywhere has to better than where she is right?
Maybe not…
Returning from the debacle that was Clemente Clan Ryder happens upon Willow. Normally he would leave the dying creature to meet her fate – maybe it was boredom? – maybe the thrill of the unknown? or quite possibly it was the surprise fight in the feral creature that roused his curiosity –
Whatever it was he found himself intrigued
So – he did what he always does – what he wanted
He kept her
Let the fun begin!
I truly believe this may be the best in this series to date!
Another great book by Lexi C Foss! I loved the characters and the storyline, This will have you wanting to know what happens next. I recommend this series as a must read, this author does not disappoint! I cant wait for her next book!!! Her books will have you hooked!!
If you haven’t picked up this series yet, I absolutely recommend it. Book 4 picks up where 3 left off with more revelations in the darkness that the Blood Alliance world has created. Enter Ryder and Willow who don’t really follow the rules. Ryder thrives in the darkness of the hunt and finds this world too easy and boring. Willow gives him a little bit of what he’s lost in the thrill of the chase and could those be…feelings? bah.
You do not have to read the first three books to start this one but some of the story arc may be missed. Pick up book one and keep on reading! These are excellent and I am excited for the next book, though I’ll be patiently waiting. 🙂
I’m love with the newest installment of the series. Each book getting better and better. I loved Rae and Kylan and their relationship and unique bond. Then was replaced by a new favorite with the scorching hot triad of Econ, Luna and Silas. Now with willow and Ryder. I liked getting to see the plot behind the final of the three friends from blood day to now. Each rising to their potential and power. Willow is kick ass and I love her natural defiance and power. It’s exactly what draws Ryder to her. Sick of years of monotonous rules and regulations taking the thrill of the chase and hunt out of things which lead to a lack of respect for humans and their food. Which was essential to their existence and so counter productive. I love how Ryder is the bad boy who doesn’t follow rules and also seems to surprise willow at every turn. Yes he is cruel, when required and necessary but he always protects her and shows her more kindness than any had before. It allows for a unique bond to grow over time before craziness ensues. Suspense, plot twists, revenge, love, sex. So many things to chose from. CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!!
Here we were back in the imaginative and cruel blood alliance world this time to learn more of poor Willow’s fate.
We were introduced to Willow previously and her designation of the Lycan breeding farms has definitely not been kind to her.
Managing to escape them a traumatised and desperate Willow flees straight into the path of vampire elder and new royal Ryder.
Somewhat Intrigued by the pathetic and dying human he decides to take her home as his pet.
But Ryder is not really a hero and this is not in any way a rescue or intervention.
Apathetic and disinterested in this new world order his interest in Willow is not in any way kind or humane.
He has no great sympathy or interest in being her saviour.
It’s mostly just boredom and indifference and Willows presence brings a sense of curiosity to counteract his detachment unintentionally arousing Ryder’s reluctant regard.
But spending time together Ryder finds his new pet fascinating and starts to feel an attachment forming.
He likes that she doesn’t always follow the rules set out.
Also Ryder’s tedium I think was more just that he was dissatisfied with the monotony of his life, Willows arrival in it flips a switch that changes everything for him.
Though Ryder is old and at times can be cruel he is by no means a monster and lives by his own particular code of behaviour.
He accepts that humanity must be preserved as they are the source of his kind’s survival and he has no desire to be unnecessarily cruel to them.
He misses the old ways and despises the new order finding it boring and dull and now with a certain level of control starts to clean house.
His building bond with Willow is something he didn’t expect and in return, she starts to feel things right back.
Ryder is different from everything Willow has been taught by the academy to expect from a royal vampire and she certainly doesn’t expect it to last long-term expecting Ryder to gets bored and discard her when he grows bored.
But there’s more going on here than initially is apparent.
Also, a lot of stuff that’s been building over the course of this series starts to pay dividends in this book.
The dots are connected here and it all starts to slot into place.
So this really was red-hot with some scorching chemistry.
I absolutely adored Ryder he was such a uniquely wired individual and my heart initially broke for Willow and her experiences at the hands of the Lycans.
Together these two were magic and they were most definitely stronger as one than apart.
We also get to meet some old faces from past books which was nice and I really loved the direction this one veered in.
Great characters, fantastic storytelling combined with phenomenal world-building make Rebel
bitten such an enthralling page-turner.
I just couldn’t and didn’t wasn’t to put it down I was completely mesmerised throughout.
Every book in this series I think is my be-all then I read the next one and I’m sold all over again.
I’ve come to the conclusion they are all my favourites and I just can’t and don’t want to choose between them.
One of my top series ever and this author always delivers the goods each and every-time.
This one gets a massive thumbs up from me it was pure brilliance.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Rebel Bitten.

Another amazing book in the Blood Alliance series!!! Lexi is one of my favorite authors and I love all of her books!!! Steamy and romantic with a touch of vampire…yes please!!! Read and enjoy!!!
fabulous continuation of the series!!
I adore this series, and this latest offering didn’t disappoint. I devoured it in one sitting.
Can’t wait for the next.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
Wow! What a fantastic book that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I absolutely loved Ryder’s defiance against accepting the new way of life when he knew it wasn’t right and Willow’s strength from within to be a strong fighter. I can’t wait to read more in this series.
I dont think Lexi can right a bad book.
No, really, each book, each character she writes is better than the last.
I adore Ryder, his IDGAF attitude is the stuff Alpha heroes are made of.
Willow is a kick ass heroine in her own right, shes smart and quick on her feet and takes none of that IDGAF attitude when she knows better.
Another 5 star book, with 5 star characters and 5 star world building. Cant wait for more!
He’s a Rebel With a cause
An absolutely spectacular story by LexiIn the previous books in this series we met Rae, Silas and Willow was briefly mentioned as having been chosen on Blood Day to go to the breeding camps. Willow somehow, finds herself on Ryder’s land and she intrigues him enough to ensure he saves her life
This story is fast paced and filled with “biteable” characters that keep you on your toes but also keep things entertaining with their wit and delicious humour I eagerly await Jace’s story next and I can’t wait to find out what happens next as things are finally starting to come to a head
Thank you to Lexi for my advanced copy for which I willingly leave my honest review
