Once upon a time, humankind ruled the world while lycans and vampires lived in secret. This is no longer that time. WillowRun, run, run! They’re chasing me, even into my dreams. And when I awake, I see him. Striking blue eyes with a hint of the devil inside. He’s my savior and my worst nightmare combined.Because he owns me.He found me.He saved me.But I don’t want to be owned. I want to be free. … me.
He found me.
He saved me.
But I don’t want to be owned. I want to be free. Even if it kills me.
Ryder
I needed a diversion, a plaything, something to distract me from this perpetual boredom. And she appeared as if the Almighty above had heard my prayers.
Or, more accurately, the devil.
Because I’m not a good man. Humanity died inside me long ago. It was what I needed to survive.
But she’s such a pretty little thing. I think I’ll keep her and make her mine. At least for a little while. Humans are so fragile, after all.
Welcome to Ryder Region.
It might not be mine yet, but it will be soon.
For I haven’t lived this long by playing nice.
I prefer to bite.

Book 4 of the Blood Alliance series pretty much picks right up where we left off in book three and once again Lexi doesn’t disappoint. If you haven’t read the other books in this series I seriously suggest you do because there is a whole lot of backstory you’re going to want to know before you dive in.
Ok so we have Ryder – an ancient vampire who is an anti-social, alpha male who really just does not give 2 f*ck$ about what the current “society” rules are. Personally he’s my kinda guy! With the IDGAF attitude he has some may call him broody but I don’t think so. He’s pretty freaking charming and funny if you ask me (in a dark sort of way that is right up my alley).
Then we have Willow… She’s kinda banged up when we first meet her but girl has fire and strength I totally admire.
These two make a perfect pair! I also love Ryder’s right hand man Damian too (please let him get his own book someday). The level of snark between him and Ryder are some of my favorite moments.
As a whole I felt like I related to these characters the best in the series to date. On top of that it felt like this book helped advance the overall arc of the series as a whole. I can’t wait for more.
For the love of all that is steamy, this book was fabulous! Ryder is brilliant, snarky, and with just the right amount of Alpha vampire! I couldn’t put this book down and now I need more.
Ryder is an ancient reclusive vampire who has grown bored with the new world until a girl stumbles into his life. Human, chattle, and bred to serve the vampires and lycans who now rule Earth, Willow has decided she wants to live, to survive, and thrive even if it is impossible for humans to have that kind of existence. But she wants it. Her will to fight is what intrigues Ryder from that first moment and she continues to awaken him as he lets her in and they find there may be more to her than either of them thought.
This book was darkly fascinating, revolving around the idea that if vampires and lycans ruled the world, what hope would there be for humanity. As the fourth book in the series, we have seen that there is a measure of hope for humans and there is a resistance mounting that Ryder and Willow can choose to be a part of or can choose to hide away in Ryder’s cabin for the rest of their lives. I, for one, wouldn’t be upset stuck in his cabin for all of eternity. It was witty, sadistic in parts, and full of the kind of steamy romance Lexi is known for. If you love the Blood Alliance series, don’t miss out on meeting Ryder…he just became my new favorite.
Every time I think this author can’t surpass herself she always goes and one ups the stakes. Like every story she writes just gets better and better than the previous.
I particularly love the dark tropes and whilst Ryder isn’t the darkest character that I’ve read, he certainly has dark proclivities. They call to the reader like a moth to a flame. This is definitely a dark world though, the essence of it is very dystopian, and has that kind of depravity that one would expect from such a world. Plus, we all know this author doesn’t shy away from any particular topic. It’s what makes her stories real.
I loved Willow. She has moxie and backbone and a tenacity for speaking her mind and throughout the whole book you could see that Ryder thrived on it. He needs a challenge, life has gotten monotonous and tedious and mundane and then Willow enters his life and bam, chaos. His existence is turned on his axis.
This book is also filled with drama and tension and intrigue. There wasn’t one moment I hated. It all flowed.
But I’m very intrigued by the secondary characters and the book even brought back some old favourites.
A highly enjoyable, sexy, delicious world with characters you want to eat your dinner off of. Can’t wait for more!
I absolutely love Ryder! He is cheeky, doesn’t care what others think, and is just plain fun.
Willow is trying to find her place in a world that has abused her. Ryder is not at all what she expects or has been taught a royal vampire should be.
He is intrigued by his “prize” and “pet. She wants to survive and get away from the immortals who have thus far ruled her life. Ryder is not at all what she expects and constantly keeps her on her toes. They are an unlikely, yet perfect pair. Their banter and story kept me reading from the beginning. I loved every second of the story. The twists, the turns… Every page was a joy! My favorite in this series so far, and that’s saying something because Regally Bitten still holds a very special place in my heart! Ryder has won me over though. Go. Read it now. Fall for this quirky and irreverent vampire! And let WIllow show you what a fighting spirit can lead you!
