I died for Hostess cupcakes.I know. Tragic, right?Even worse, after I came back I still didn’t get any cupcakes. What I did get, however, is a six-foot-something reaper with eyes like blue fire to guide me into the world of the supernatural. Which, as it turned out, wasn’t quite like the fairytales little girls are told growing up.Not only is magic real, more importantly, so are monsters. And … real, more importantly, so are monsters.
And apparently, I’m one of them.
But I’m getting ahead of myself here.
You see, four years ago I left my hometown and swore to never come back.
Now my brother is dead and I have no choice but to go searching for answers. Except finding them isn’t easy when the secret society he belonged to is covering it up.
I gotta find out who killed him while watching my own back, because if I’m not careful I might be next—and this time, there’s no do over. Luckily for me, Mr. Single and Hot as Fck is determined to help me keep my ass alive.
I’m a lucky, lucky girl.
Some days.

So freaking funny! Right from the start this book was fun and entertaining. I couldn’t put it down. When you put two great authors together, magic happens! I waited impatiently for this book and it was so worth the wait. Loved, loved, loved it!

I was captured by the blurb and thought this book would be really great. I mean how couldn’t it be, and boy did it not disappoint. It was a wild ride right from the start and did not let up. You are brought into this magical world where you are learning about it right with three with Salem. You meet creatures that should not exist but that are people just like you and me. Honestly this book was amazing. Definitely recommend it to everyone!

Hostess cupcakes anyone?
A) this made me hungry. Hostess cupcakes…pizza…m&ms
Mmm food
B) Salem is badass. Has no filter. Is always hungry. Pretty much amazing right!
C) mmm Graves
D) amazing best friend
I could probably go on, but the point is…READ THIS BOOK!
This book grabbed my attention immediately. It starts off fast paced and I never lost interest. I actually had trouble putting it down once I started reading it. I also really enjoyed the humor in the story. Salem had me giggling out loud. I loved the back and forth between Graves and Salem, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for them in the future!

I am so excited and happy to have gotten an early copy of the books and stating the series, even though I now have to wait longer for book two. However, I know that they wait is going to definitely be worth it. I loved this new series and the characters Salem and Graves were both so stubborn and Salem’s sassy personality and her love for food and cupcakes was just so hilarious and such a page turner. Congratulations to both authors for writing such an amazing start to a new series. Looking forward to the next book!!!

In Reaper’s Blood, Kel and Meg give us engaging characters and fairly fast paced story line . This light-hearted romp with a dark mystery to solve, a snarky hot mess of a MC, her succubus BFF and (of course) a hot love interest keeps the pages turning. However, I’m willing to bet there’s a whole lot more to Salem than quick wit and an addiction to cupcakes. Plus, I love a story that gives us a twist on the Brothers Grimm.

I was lucky enough to snag an early copy of this book, and holy hostess cupcakes, I couldn’t put it down. Salem is not your typical heroine. She’s quick-witted to a fault – one that had me snort laughing through the entire book – has a serious addiction to sugar, and has got one hell of a story to tell.
Within the first chapter, she’s swearing, flipping the bird, and driving way too fast while listening to rock music, which makes her my type of girl. She’s one of those characters that you relate to so hard, you wish she was real because you’d be best friends with her.
The cast of characters in this series are killer, sometimes literally, and honestly, the only downside to this book was that it ended and I couldn’t read the second book right away because I was so immersed in this utterly unique world, I didn’t want to leave it.
I was hooked as always with your books thanks for letting me enjoy all of your books you always know how to keep the suspension going though all
This was a fun and hilarious book, and I loved every second of it. This isn’t my usual type of fantasy book, but since there are grimm reapers in it, I decided to give it a read. And oh man how I really enjoyed it. I had a great time laughing out loud reading it.
The storyline was simple and easy to follow. It was basically about Salem who came back to her old hometown to search for her brother’s murderer, and also about her journey of trying to understand the whole supernatural world with the help of a mysterious stranger named Graves that happens to be her brother’s best friend. These two embarks on a journey of finding out who was behind the murder of Salem’s brother.
It was a very well-written story, and also an excellent one. As for the plot, it was so intriguing and full of mystery. The story was very well-plotted too, and there are so many mysteries regarding Salem’s brother’s death, and the werewolf attacks in the book. I feel like there was a connection there, but who was behind it still remain a mystery. As for the murderer, well that was so unexpected and I hope the sequel will reveal more about what happened to Salem’s brother leading up to his death, and what was the murderer’s motive.
Trying to find the answers are what makes this story more enjoyable, and I can’t help but keep going on. I can’t even take a break because the story was very engaging, and I needed to know more about what was happening that made the current situation in the story so chaotic and deadly. I was really eager to find out the truth, and the ending left me with more questions. And I can’t wait for the sequel to reveal more about the murderer’s motive, the truth about the Gamma Rho’s president, the werewolf attacks, and what type of supernatural creature Salem actually is. I hope the sequel will be just as breathtaking as this one.
The characters are so fun and hilarious. They are the type of characters who will always entertain you, and you won’t get bored by them. Graves, Salem, and Tamsin…these three are the only characters that truly make this book alive with so many funny moments, even though the setting of the story are kind of dull and scary.
Graves ever the serious reaper is so charming and a very swoon-worthy hero. I really admired his character. He was not only protective but he was also very helpful. He acted more of a leader and that just makes his character more intimidating than most. Despite how rough he can be, he was also sassy and very sarcastic. He is the type of person who will make others laugh with a very serious facial expression and without even trying to be funny. When he went into a strong and cold protective mode, I swooned. Graves does possessed so many great qualities, and his personality and attitude only makes him more likable. I was wondering if his character will have a little bit of change in the sequel—I mean in a good way. Anyway, I just can’t get enough of him, and I need more of Graves in the next book.
Salem is a very sassy and sarcastic heroine, perfectly fine for this type of story. I can’t blame her for acting so pissy throughout the whole book. If I were in her position, I would’ve done the same thing too. What I want to say is that, Salem is a very relatable person. I can relate to her in so many levels, and I understood why she asked too many questions and demanded answers. What she’d been through in the beginning of the story was tragic and traumatic for her, and yet she still managed to act normal. I admired her for being strong despite how confused she was about what she experienced.
Imagined that you were attacked by a scary creature and got into an accident, then you found out through a mysterious guy that you were actually a supernatural person, and you just learned that supernatural world is real, and then trying to track down your brother’s murderer all in the span of less than 24 hours. I would’ve gone insane and get pissy too because no one ever told me this before. So I truly get why Salem acted the way she did. But I expect her to have a great development in the sequel since she already lived up to her role as a reaper—the first female reaper in a clan full of male reapers. And I hope to see more of her training session with Graves. Salem is full of surprises, and I would like to think that she will be the one to save the supernatural world and the one who will change history. It would be very challenging for her after this since she is the first and only female reaper, and god knows how the reaper clan will treat her. I really liked her character, and her sarcasm always made me laugh so hard. I really needed that.
Tamsin, Dom, and James are the side characters the way I see it. But I wouldn’t be too surprise if the authors somehow upgrade their characters into the main ones. Tamsin is hilarious in a lot of ways, and oh man what a good laugh I had every time she opens her mouth to speak. The council scene had me wheezing, the way she made up her lies and then embarrassed Graves and Salem in front of the council was too funny. She surely knew how to light up a serious situation. I had a glimpse of what abilities she possessed after finding out that she is a succubus. As for Dom and James, well these two are still a mystery to me. Even though Salem said Dom wasn’t the one behind her brother’s death, but I still can’t rule him out yet. I feel like he was hiding something and that he’s not an overall a good guy. I had a right to be suspicious of him after the cemetery scene. And there was James, what a surprise he is. He doesn’t appeared too much in the story, but he has been giving me a very bad vibe. I need to learn more about him and why he did what he did.
There isn’t too much romance in the book, but I was grateful for that one hot scene between Graves and Salem. I knew somehow they will get together, but it takes time since both are still grieving the death of the one person they cared about. Plus, they were too busy with the supernatural stuff that they don’t have much time for romance. They are so compatible together, and I loved seeing how closer they get the more they spend their time together. Their banter was hilarious, hence the reason why both of them are perfect together. Graves and Salem does have similar attitude and personality; both are sarcastic, stubborn, sometimes cold and sometimes sweet, easily annoyed, so determined, smart and obviously are great detectives. If they were to be in a relationship together, I hope it will have a nice progress and better development so that their relationship will look more realistic and making a lot of sense.
This book was very interesting, perfect for fans who loves reading supernatural urban fantasy stories full of fun banters and hilarious moments. I hope to see more great actions and maybe some magic too, and also to learn more about the council roles in the next book. This book was filled with a lot of fun things and amazing adventure that will make you want to be a part of it. I need more of Graves and Salem, and obviously Tamsin and her antics.
Such a funny and original story! I’m completely in love with Salem and Grave. While Salem is detached, Grave is centered. The originality of the narrative combined with interesting and picturesque characters are gifts for readers that wants a really good reading time.
This was a great story. It caught my attention right away. I had to read it to the end. The characters are complex. The story is compelling and well written. I always enjoy a good reaper story. I cant wait for the next book.

I have yet to meet a Meg Anne book that I didn’t totally love and this one is NOT it! A fun paranormal read. I mean the h “died for Hostess cupcakes.” Salem is a kick-ass, feisty, take no prisoners type if h that you just love to read about. This series is off to a great start. Humorous and witty, the writing just draws you in and the story is original enough that you just don’t want to put the book down. I can’t wait for more, I just know it will be amazing.
This book needs to be dipped in gold and celebrated with some candles in cupcakes because it was nothing short of humorous supernatural perfection!!
I have been silently following one of the authors for awhile now, and I have enjoyed ever book from her so I decided to just jump into this story. A quick few chapters before bed… two hours later and the next morning and DARN this was fan-freaking-tastic!!! I really want to gush but I will leave it to these three observations:
1) if you love anything supernatural this is an ode to your love. It had such great moments of combining not only a great plot but little mentions of previously loved supernatural elements (i.e. Supernatural, Buffy, Twilight). Intentional or not it made the story that much more enjoyable.
2) the humor is beyond anything and a rare quality that these authors have. They have that perfect timing to the humor, a wonderful balance. The humor is over the top and a bit in your face at times but it never overwhelms or complicates the story. It’s perfect and relevant at ever turn.
3) I LOVE LOVE LOVE Shepard in this story. I every much want a possessed sheep for my very own. He stole his scenes and made me snort so loud I woke my sleeping cat!! I don’t think I have ever loved a secondary animal character more in my life!! (Well maybe a certain pet raccoon). If you need a reason this is it!
I cannot wait for book two!! Perfection people, truly awesome!!
First, let me just say that I NEED Reaper’s Havoc right now!! I am so pumped from reading this book and really want more of Salem and Graves.
This book starts with a bang and just keeps going form there. There are twists, turns, surprises, lots of great banter between the characters. It had a little of everything I like in a paranormal book.
This story is different, and I really enjoyed that. I loved the characters and I am really interested to see where the authors take them.
Salem is sarcastic, stubborn and one kick butt female. I love her no nonsense, kick butt asks questions later mentality. It may get her into a few sticky situations but nothing her and Graves can’t handle.
I am amped up for the rest of this series. I need to know what is going to happen next.
Salem Kaine is totally a girl after my own heart! Blunt and with an addiction to Hostess sweets. I can totally relate. I really liked this book! It sucked me in in the first chapter and I didnt put it down til it was finished! Graves sounds like he is all sorts of delicious, and who better to guide Salem through her knew and unknown life as a Reaper?? Although there are the ghosts, Eddie and Not-Morticia, and those scenes cracked me up. Im so excited to read the next installment and see what happens in Salems new life!!
An AMAZING Urban Fantasy read!!!
Death is just the beginning for Salem. Not only she came back from the dead, but she discovered she’s a reaper and part of a supernatural community she never knew existed! Fueled by her desire to find her brother’s killer, armed with lots of sass and with the help of her brother’s best friend Graves and her bestie’s Tamsin, she embarks on a whirlwind of an adventure.
I loved the banter between Salem and Graves and the slow-burn romance between them is to die for! Action-packed, suspensful, funny to the point of hillarious, with excellent characters and amazing plot twists, “Reaper’s Blood” became my newest addiction. I need the next book now!

Quite an interesting chemistry of two people who shouldn’t be together in any normal circumstances.
Interesting adventure to keep a feisty female safe!
A recommendation!

Who knew reapers could be so hot. Not just bones but abs for days and icy blue eyes. Full of quick wit, major sarcasm, and sugary delicious romance. Salem is doing everything she can to find her brothers kill with the help of her friend Tam and the unlikely help of Graves. Unfortunately she can’t help but to cause problems and take them with her. Cant wait to see where it all leads.
4.25 stars
This is the first book I have read from these authors and it will not be the last. There is nothing like having to come home again and for Salem it is bittersweet as she is coming to find out who killed her brother. To make matters worse on her way, she gets the surprise of her life when an animal crosses the road in front of her while she is reaching for some Hostess Cupcakes; I mean who can really resist them especially when one is hungry. It brings new meaning to the term death by chocolate. When Salem regains consciousness, she comes face to face with a girl that looks like Morticia Adams who propels her back to her body. Not believing what happened, the next person to greet Salem is none other than her brother’s best friend, Graves. After what could be termed a pissing contest, she reluctantly takes the ride that he offers back to her home. What follows is an engaging storyline although it took a bit to get into and it begs the question of will Salem be able to figure out who she really is and who killed her brother? You will have to get the book and find out….I volunteered to read an advance copy of this book.
Meg Anne and Kel Carpenter delivered one snarky, hilarious, action packed adventure into a spin on the supernatural world. When Salem is returning home after the death of her twin she happens to die literally for a hostess cupcake. When discovered by Graves. Salem’s world that has already changed drastically before really spirals into a tailspin. I found myself lost in the pages to the very end, and left hungry for what’s next! If you like books with humor, a snarky heroin, and a steamy hero, thrown in with action, a mystery, and supernatural beings this is definitely a book for you!
