“Has all the ingredients for an instant success: plots, counterplots, mystery, valiant knights, and blossoming relationships replete with broken hearts, deception and betrayal. It will keep you entertained for hours, and will satisfy all ages. Recommended for the permanent library of all fantasy readers.” –Books and Movie Reviews, Roberto Mattos (re The Sorcerer’s Ring)“The beginnings of … beginnings of something remarkable are there.”
–San Francisco Book Review (re A Quest of Heroes)
From #1 bestseller Morgan Rice, author of A Quest of Heroes (over 1,300 five star reviews) comes the debut of a startlingly new fantasy series.
REALM OF DRAGONS (Age of the Sorcerers—Book One) tells the story of the epic coming of age of one very special 16 year old boy, a blacksmith’s son from a poor family who is offered no chance of proving his fighting skills and breaking into the ranks of the nobles. Yet he holds a power he cannot deny, and a fate he must follow.
It tells the story of a 17 year old princess on the eve of her wedding, destined for greatness—and of her younger sister, rejected by her family and dying of plague.
It tells the tale of their three brothers, three princes who could not be more different from each other—all of them vying for power.
It tells the story of a kingdom on the verge of change, of invasion, the story of the dying dragon race, falling daily from the sky.
It tells the tale of two rival kingdoms, of the rapids dividing them, of a landscape dotted with dormant volcanoes, and of a capital accessible only with the tides. It is a story of love, passion, of hate and sibling rivalry; of rogues and hidden treasure; of monks and secret warriors; of honor and glory, and of betrayal and deception.
It is the story of Dragonfell, a story of honor and valor, of sorcerers, magic, fate and destiny. It is a tale you will not put down until the early hours, one that will transport you to another world and have you fall in in love with characters you will never forget. It appeals to all ages and genders.

I like it so I wont more books if you can (^m^;)(′`)
I loved the twist and the turns as each character developed
Realms of Dragons (Age of the Sorcerers Book One) is a masterfully told tale with a multitude of characters and subplots woven into a riveting story of a family of royals from Royalsport. Each character has a story, with flaws, strengths, and challenges that keep things interesting. And then there is Devin; the wildcard in this story. He is neither a royal nor the son of peasant parents who raised him. Born under the dragon moon, what he is, is part of the unfolding of this story of two kingdoms on the brink of war, and other than that, I will offer no spoiler.
It is often easy to lose track of characters when there are many, but that is not the case in Realms of Dragons. Each character is unique; some easy to love and some easy to hate, yet it isn’t quite so cut in dried. I enjoyed the way Rice wove in romance and violence without all the specific details but making it clear what is happening.
The only thing that disappointed me about the book, is that it follows the same publishing route as many others these days in that the story doesn’t come to a conclusion at the end of the book. And so to learn the fate of the characters, you must purchase book 2 in the series. I confess, I’m already well into book two, Throne of Dragons, and have purchased book three, Born of Dragons (There are eight books in the series). I can’t recommend this book highly enough for fantasy buffs. You won’t be disappointed.
So many characters and it just keeps going with no real ending
Realm of Dragons (Age of the Sorcerers—Book One), my second read from author Morgan Rice, an author I’d wanted to read for a long time but never got around to. I bought a Kindle edition back in December of 2019 and finally when I bought the Chirp audiobook I read it and now I’m voluntarily reviewing it. An epic in nature, 6-hours 58-minutes, 222-pages/ but reads longer due to the detail & development of the story and the ending, the ending. I look forward to reading more from this author and look forward to Throne of Dragons (Age of the Sorcerers—Book Two). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
Entertaining but not much of an ending, intent to get to read series?
As a fan of Morgan Rice, this book and the others I have read in this series are a a good example of her writing and approach to a series. Good cliffhangers at the end of each. Good continuity with multiple story lines.
Generally good. It is unfortunate that none of the stories are completed. you finish the book with a feel of unfulfillment…
Could see this series as a tv series! Interesting characters, who’ve made me want to know more.
Good read, keeps you wanting to keep reading!
I enjoyed this fast paced story with the multiple character viewpoints and the exciting potential within the characters. The story gripped me and kept me turning the pages to see what came next. It was very well written and the author enabled me to experience each character’s thoughts and emotions and led me to care about them. I’m not a fan of cliff-hanger endings. In fact, I detest them, so my only criticism for the book was the book’s lack of resolution at the end, and this is the only reason I rated it four stars instead of five.
I thought there were too many typos and homonym errors innthis boom
Must read
I love Realm Of Dragons, I don’t usually read things that this but I finished in 1 week… Realm Of Dragons Realm of Dragons is kinda like Realm Of Doom so that’s a plus too. I highly recommend it but the reason I gave it 4 stars is that it’s not my favorite book and that the details could be better, and it takes a lot for me to just give a book or a review 5 stars….!
I enjoyed this book
Avery entertaining read that pulls me to finish the series. Another great read by a well known author. Always enjoy the worlds she creates and the people that live in them
I wonder sometimes, can Morgan Rice write a bad book? Very entertaining book, really makes you want to get the next one, and I probably will when I catch up on my library of unread books.
You have a dysfunctional royal family, some of which manifest special abilities. A young blacksmith who may be more than he seems. Not to forget the king, who is trying really hard to maintain a strong leadership while exercising political savvy to keep all his people willing to take up arms should the need arise. And, it will, as there is a kingdom ruled by a vicious power grabbing Stalinist type who is looking to take over all.
Sex is implied, but not detailed and violence is understandable. Enjoy this story as with all Morgan Rice works.
Love her stories
What a magical beginning to what appears to be a stupendous series. Morgan Rice gives us princes and princesses, witches and warlocks, sibling rivalry, and a very deep fight between good and evil. We get the beginning of several sub-plots with all the twists and turns which only makes things that much more interesting as to where each will go and made my mind work to figure out how one tied into the other and what the ultimate outcome could be. I was enthralled from beginning to end and can’t wait for the next book to see where she takes us next.
This book made a great start, hooking me quickly into the story. It has some strong characters. However, it has too many references to sexual violence for my taste, and ends very abruptly. I won’t be purchasing the next book.
