Great set. We have real men and the women they love. Well developed characters, fast moving stories and an HEA. I did read all the books individually but I enjoyed this re-read. It’s nice to have them all in one place. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).
A great shifter bundle.
Interconnected characters.
Steam, danger and all the feels.
Recommend.
This set is made up of the first four books in the Real Men Shift series. Paranormal romance readers will love these books full of hunky alpha werewolves and the feisty woman who are their mates. The first three books are about the Blackwood brothers, Mason, Kade, and Gavin, and the last book is about Drew, the packs’ healer. While each book is it’s own story, they are all loosely connected with an overall storyline. All the characters are well-developed and each story is filled with action, suspense, and romance. There are also some fun and cute minor characters like little Charlie and let’s not forget Ghost Kitty! I absolutely love this series and can’t wait to read the rest of it!
Real Men Snarl
Ally ran when her ex boyfriend essentially forced her to become a werewolf and then demeaned her because he realised she was not his mate. She managed to escape and found safety with an old school friend and her sparky grandmother.
When her friend moved to another town, she gets a shock when the man sent to help her adopted grandmother move is a werewolf! She assumes he is just like the a&%hole she ran from. However, Kade is a nice guy, wrapped in a protective and possessive male shell! When it’s clear that Ally is running from something he makes it his mission to protect her but also to show her that not all packs were blood thirsty and dysfunctional like the one she witnessed.
I loved how patient and understanding Kade was, all whilst still pressing his suit with Ally. He gave her space to think, just not to run off! Ally is a great mix of spunky, independent, naïve and strong willed.
Grandma Tessa and little Charlie, OMG they almost stole the show. The “baddie” was a tad 2 dimensional but only because I felt we didn’t get to meet him long enough to real build up my hatred of him LOL!
Real Men Growl
Gavin Blackwood is the Pack Enforcer and Sheriff. He is currently organising the exodus of healthy wolves from the Riverson Pack to friendlier packs nearby, including his own. There are a few holdouts though, including Rachel Fields. She is an Omega but she is more than capable of keeping Gavin on his toes!
Rachel was an Omega but before she could train her pack was overtaken by the odious Riversons and she lived in fear from then on. She managed to keep her young charge safe from the Alpha and his lieutenants. But this strange Enforcer makes her inner wolf sit up and tale notice. But she is not about to uproot herself and her charge from the only place they know and jump into the unknown just because her wolf says Gavin is her MATE!
AI loved that whilst Rachel may be seen as a weak wolf, her Omega status may not have been fully trained but she can pack a wallop! The scenes were she negotiates with Gavin is quite funny because you are so used to most Alpha wolves doing the ordering about, but she has more than herself to worry about. Fab read!
Real Men Heal
Drew gets waylaid on his way home after a hard day at his Vet practice. He is not exactly happy about being kidnapped but he does give the offending Alpha some leeway when he finds out that he is needed to help with the effects of X 15 again.
But when he is stashed at the Alpha’s sisters home, off pack lands, he gets the shock of his life. Chloe is his mate! Now he just has to save her mum, win over her brother, ditch the wannabe suitor and get her to agree to be his mate!
Drew is a great lead. The right mix of confident, aggressive and possessive with a soothing personality to temper his desires. Chloe was so badly treated by her father I just wanted to smack him! She deals with her misfortunes well but really feels confused and unsure how to deal with these feelings that she has for Drew.
Zeke really needs to dial down the Alpha! His handling of Drew and Chloe leaves a lot to be desired. Although there is a HEA for the couple, they are not without tragedy.
It was a bit short and could have done with being a bit longer (the action essentially takes place over only a few days!) Looking forward to visiting with the Blackwood Wolves again!
Real Men Snarl
Kade was an excellent hero, sweet, understanding, sexy and totally into the Ally. I just couldn’t connect with Ally, although I don’t think it was the character’s fault.
Ally has trauma in her past that stops her from trusting Kade. Unfortunately, it takes her half the book before she opens up. I’m not sure it would be believable for her to get over it faster but it slowed the book down with what felt like a lot of exposition in the second in the series.
Real Men Growl
Gavin was a great hero, sexy, alpha and funny. The scene with the kitten in the sheriff’s office and when he redecorated the house…I just had to giggle. Rachel was strong and her relationship with Eric, her adopted son, was very sweet.
Real Men Heal
We first met Drew in the first book and he is so sweet it was great to see him get his HEA. Chloe works well for him and comes off as someone who will truly appreciate all Drew has to offer. I will say her “issue ” was not really a surprise withDrew handled all her insecurities perfectly.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Enjoyable series. Having read individually I re-read through Kindle Unlimited.
1 – REAL MEN HOWL
Great enjoyable story with humour and a touch of sadness too.
Likeable heroes and would be happy to read more about this group of characters
Lucy is such an oxymoron. One very strong, brave and sweet woman in her actions with the children and in regards to their safety, then acts so hot-cold and aggressive towards Mason but she has this really enjoyable quirky sense of humour. So sad about her parents.
Mason doesn’t know what hits him when his long awaited for mate, ignores him, defies him and basically brings him to heel.
Great chemistry between these two and some very good banter.
Story flowed well and carried me along but there were a couple of disjointed parts that seemed to not lead anywhere.
2 – REAL MEN SNARL
As much as I enjoyed the story this was a letdown after book one.
Without giving any spoilers I cannot write a full review.
As that is not fair to anyone, I will say though I enjoyed it, there was nothing special about this story as I had just read two books with extremely similar plots.
As brave as I thought Ally was, I was also very annoyed at her selfishness in not speaking up before she endangered others. An innocent was hurt.
I get really aggravated when someone withholds information that could save someone from being taken unawares.
Ally does this. Knowing how bad Brian is, she doesn’t tell Kade, even when she suspects he is following them and therefore just brings trouble to innocent people.
Kade also knew something was frightening Ally but did not push her for information to protect his pack so he has to bear some of the blame too.
I liked the linking between book one and two with what had happened in the past.
I loved going back to visit this group of characters and getting another brothers story.
Will be interesting to see if Rachel is Gavin’s mate in the next book.
3 – REAL MEN GROWL
A well rounded and enjoyable read with a very good storyline.
The final brother Gavin gets his HEA and I am glad it is with Rachel, the feisty Omega.
Loved Gavin from the previous books but he really came through for Rachel and Eric.
Rachel was one amazingly strong person for her age. Reading this you don’t realise she is only about 22 years old as she has had to go through so much over the last 6 years.
Great story that tugs at your heartstrings on more than one occasion due to the horrors that have happened to the Fields pack.
The fun with the kittens names was very cute though.
Loved having all the other characters around, even if the other female mates are not involved overly much. By the time I had finished this book I wanted to go back and reread the previous two to refresh my memory.
My only irritation is at the end of chap nine we get a bit of a bombshell dropped, then nothing is said about it again for quite a few chapters. I found this very strange especially in lieu of what it was.
The NRC were most unhelpful.
I hope these two authors will write about some of the other characters we have met in this pack.
4 – REAL MEN HEAL
A lovely short read with likeable characters and quite a few emotions thrown in too.
Some alpha posturing, true mates meeting and obstacles to be dealt with along with saying goodbye to a dear one.
You do not need to read the previous books before this one.
I can’t think of any description for how good this series is and they just keep getting better. Do yourself a favour take a few days off work ignore the house work and binge on this series but do be warned at the very end you will have a book hangover and a urge to demand more books from the authors. I’ve ignored housework and dishes and cooking all so that I can read.
I loved all the individual books and am happy they created a boxset. Mostly due to the fact that I recommend reading these books in order. I feel that to properly get into this series it’s important to read them in order because all the characters are interrelated. This first boxset is a great deal at a great price! Much cheaper than buying all the individual books plus none of the worrying if you’re missing a book! Definitely recommend.
I really enjoyed the first four of the Real Men stories and now they are all in one fabu-tab-ulous set!
Real Men Howl: Not your conventional Alpha falls for a woman and wins her over. I loved who Lucy was and Mason was great as the all growly alpha. I loved the kitchen scene where he gives Lucy his phone. The story is the perfect balance of humor, romance and happiness.
Real Men Snarl: Kade was a great alpha male for Ally! He was strong and possessive. Ally was sweet and caring. I loved how their relationship came together and developed. The Blackwood pack and Charlie were able to show Ally how a real pack was supposed to be. And Tessa – she was an absolute hoot!!
Real Men Growl: Real Men Growl was a challenge for Gavin as a pack enforcer. He was forced to watch himself and try not to growl too much as he dealt directly with the Riverson pack. Rachel proved to be fierce – she loved fiercely & didn’t even know the strength of herself as an Omega. I loved that Gavin fell hard and fast, that he was willing to do what it took, even if he had to be gentle and take his time. And the kittens – they cracked me up! From their names to the way that Gavin knew that he couldn’t react to them if he wanted to keep the peace.
Real Men Heal: I couldn’t believe how laid back everything went with Drew. This whole story could have gone a lot more were-violent and bloodier. And that was all before Chloe walks in. The entire story flowed so evenly and perfectly with Drew and Chloe. From Drew just being there to the resolution of his kidnapping and their mating.
I enjoyed all of them and couldn’t wait for the next ones.
The Blackwood Pack…
Even though I had already read all four books I jumped on the chance to have them in one box set. This makes binge reading so much easier!!
“Real Men Howl”:
The first book in this series introduces us to the Blackwood Pack. It also introduces us to two wonderful characters….no, I’m not talking about Mason and Lucy. I’m talking about Charlie and Ghost Kitty! Absolutely loved this one.
“Real Men Snarl”:
Characters from book one make an appearance in this story but none are the main characters. I loved Ally. She had an inner strength that helped her survive. Kade was her perfect match. He was willing to listen and take his cues from her reactions instead of pushing too soon. Despite loving both Ally and Kade, I think Charlie may have completely won my heart.
“Real Men Growl”:
Gavin is going to need a lot of patience as he tries to straighten out the mess that was made of the Fields Pack by Brian Riverson. He is going to need even more patience dealing with Rachel…his mate. Rachel has spent years trying to protect Eric the rightful Alpha of the pack. After all she has seen and been thru, it’s no wonder that she doesn’t trust Gavin or his promises of a safe home with the Blackwood Pack. Will Gavin be able to show Rachel that all he says is true? What will happen when someone from the past comes looking for Rachel? I loved this book and Gavin. Oh, little Eric was precious and the kittens names…too cute.
“Real Men Heal”:
When Drew is kidnapped, the last thing he expects is to find his mate. This was a wonderful read. Drew and Chloe were great characters who were meant to be together. Zeke on the other hand was a jerk. Maybe these two talented authors can “redeem” him in a future book.
*I received an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing*
This is a sweet hot collection of paranormal stories, that I greatly enjoyed. The men know what they want and go for it whole heartedly and with fervor. The women are recalcitrant and resist, but who can say no to love for long? Sometimes the alpha is less than intelligent and unfair, but the packs more than make up for it. Great reads I’d recommend
I had the opportunity to read these books individually and let me tell you it’s fill with plenty of action, suspense, twists and turns, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end. So for those who haven’t had the chance to check this series out I totally recommend that you one click this book bundle you won’t regret it. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
I’ve previously read each of these books individually. For those who haven’t had a chance to read this series, this is a perfect chance to become engrossed in this entertaining series.
Real Men Snarl
Ally Rose has been abused and traumatized. Managing to flee her ordeal, she settles in Pepper, Georgia, residing with her best friend’s grandmother. However danger continues to menace her in the form of her abusive ex. Kade has been tasked with escorting his brother’s mate’s grandmother back to Ashwood. He never expected to scent his mate in the small town. Ally Rose is wounded having learned that werewolves equal pain and danger. Kade will have a herculean effort to breach her defenses, showing her a different kind of way to live and love. I enjoyed the story, the buildup between Kade and Ally Rose was sweet. The only thing that didn’t work for me was the lack of common sense demonstrated by characters during certain events. It was not a major hindrance to my enjoyment overall. * Tessa just might be my favourite character.
Real Men Growl
The remaining survivors of the Fields Pack carry the emotional and physical remnants of the brutal trauma they endured, during The Riverson Pack’s tyranny. Blackwood Pack enforcer, Gavin is entrusted with the assimilation and moving of the surviving members. Rachael is just regaining a semblance of peace and control of her life comes to town. She isn’t prepared for the attraction that flares between them, even as Gavin realizes they are fated mates. The angst, romance, chemistry and Rachael’s adorable charge I enjoyed this book.
Tensions and rivalries mean that the journey to HEA is less than easy for the fated mates featured in the collection.
Holy Hotness!!!!
If you want to read and pant and sweat and be happy, this is the Book Bundle for you, oh did I mention pant?
Real Men Howl
These Blackwood brothers got it going with their hotness.
Lucy Morgan left her hometown of Ashton, Georgia 10 years ago after a terrible tragedy took her parents from her and she swore never to return, but very bad circumstances made her change those plans. When she returns to the quaint little Southern town she finds that a lot of things have changed since she was last there, but she has her mind set on making it work for herself until she saves a child from harm and her life is forever turned topsy turvy.
Mason Blackwood the powerful Alpha of the Blackwood Pack and a Forest Ranger, has turned the little town of Ashwood into a tourist mecca, but his reign may be coming to an end very soon if he doesn’t find his mate soon, not only his reign, but his existence too. See if he doesn’t find her he will go feral which he is showing signs of already and will have to be put down. Then when his Healer and town Vet comes to inform him of a terrible accident in town he is hard put to not attack his friend. He realizes that his mate is in town and soon learns that his going feral is the least of his problems when he is confronted by the very outspoken and sassy BBW and she is human. Maybe it would be easier to go feral?
I absolutely love Lucy’s outspoken sassiness and don’t take any crap attitude. Let’s not forget Masons hot sexiness on a stick. This story will have you hooting and sweating to the end. I know I couldn’t go to sleep last night without finishing it.
Real Men Growl
The baby of the Blackwood brothers is anything, but a baby he’s the Blackwood Pack Enforcer and Sheriff of the town. Oh did I forget to mention how big and yummy he is? Gavin is tasked with going to the old Riverson Pack after they are all rescued from the terror that was Brian Riverson to relocate them to different packs. But there is still one he hasn’t been able to talk because she keeps avoiding him. When he finally catches up with the sassy young she wolf, all bets are off, she has to come home with him because she’s got his otherwise obedient wolf going all loony and that only means one thing….MATE Besides Gavin discovers she’s not only been hiding herself from him, but she has an extra little surprise tucked away.
At the age of 16 Omega Rachel Fields witnessed horrible atrocities no young wolf should and takes it upon herself to hide and protect the one person left of her family. She’s been on her own with the boy she adopted as her own for 6 long years. She trusts no one and is not going to be upped and rerouted to another pack that might continue the nightmare she had to live in the at the hands of Brian Riverson. But when she locks eyes with Gavin Blackwood, all those thoughts want to go out the window, her wolf stands at attention and wants to roll over, but she is a strong wolf and won’t give in. Problem is she doesn’t realize that everyone, but her old pack can feel her omega feelings and that especially includes Gavin.
I enjoyed reading these books individually, they have great storylines, are filled with action and adventure. The interaction and chemistry between the characters is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received these books individually as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
