Mason’s inner wolf will go crazy without her. Lucy thinks he’s already crazy. Werewolves aren’t real. Right?Lucy Morgan left Ashtown, Georgia, ten years ago and planned to never return. Unfortunately, life didn’t get that memo. She’s back and now painful memories follow her everywhere. Until she meets him. Mason Blackwood is over six feet of sinfully gorgeous man who—for some reason—wants her. He … reason—wants her. He also thinks he’s a werewolf so… yeah. He’s crazypants. But when he wants to have his wicked way with her, his sanity doesn’t seem all that important anymore.
Mason isn’t sure how much longer he can remain Alpha over the Blackwood pack. Without a mate to balance him, his wolf snatches more control every day. It won’t be long before he loses himself to the animal entirely. Then he meets Lucy—a sassy, curvaceous beauty who calms his beast with a smile. One sniff is enough to tell him she’s his mate, and nothing will keep them apart.
Not even the pack’s deadliest enemy who’s determined to kill Lucy before Mason can claim her.

This was first book by this author and it won’t be my last. Enjoyed it very much.
Great enjoyable story with humour and a touch of sadness too.
Likeable heroes and would be happy to read more about this group of characters
Lucy is such an oxymoron. One very strong, brave and sweet woman in her actions with the children and in regards to their safety, then acts so hot-cold and aggressive towards Mason but she has this really enjoyable quirky sense of humour. So sad about her parents.
Mason doesn’t know what hits him when his long awaited for mate, ignores him, defies him and basically brings him to heel.
Great chemistry between these two and some very good banter.
Story flowed well and carried me along but there were a couple of disjointed parts that seemed to not lead anywhere.
This book was kindly given to me by the author but I read it through KU.
Let the mating dance begin
When I’m looking for a sassy female this is my go to author. Her ladies are loud and brash, sassy and sweet, and so totally in denial about their love for their gorgeous alpha males. The author took us on a journey with this book to overcome the past, connect with the future and find a HEA that really showed her attention to the details of her story and characters. . This author always brings the danger and sass tempered with an edge of love that I just can’t get enough of. I can’t wait to read her next book.
Captivating
This was my first read from these authors and I enjoyed every wolfish moment! Lucy lost her parents when she was young and just wants to wrap up loose ends. She gets all heroic and tries to save a kid and things seem to get strange from there. I enjoyed Lucy’s strong character and liked that she was feisty and passionate. I liked Mason and felt bad for him at the beginning. Lucy was exactly who he needed to help him lead his pack. Too bad Lucy thinks he’s lost his marbles.
I’m eager to read book 2.
This book has adult language, adult scenes, cute pups and wolves with bite. 3.5 stars
Good
Loved the characters and the steamy scenes
Nice tight paranormal romance, enjoyable to read.
Fun
Great read
The first book in the Real Men Shift series and I want to read more, a well written story that held my interest throughout. Lucy Morgan left Ashtown, Georgia ten years ago and did not plan on coming back but things make it so she has to. She meets werewolf Mason Blackwood he is Alpha over the Blackwood pack. She thinks he is crazy and he knows she is his mate. I enjoyed reading this book and found myself smiling at some of the things that happen.
Just enough snarkiness to make my day…love strong heroines… too bad the rest of the series is not available on B&N
A Alpha wolf about to go feral meets his mate in a sassy human accountant with ties to his pack
Mason Blackwood at 34, is the alpha of the Blackwood pack. Unmated, his wolf is getting harder and harder to control. He has real fears that his time is short, and his pack will have to put him down.
Lucy Morgan has come back to her small Georgia home town. She left 10 year ago after loosing her parents at 18, in a brutal attack that seriously injured her. She is home regrouping after losing her job as an accountant when she turned evidence of embezzlement. Home has become almost unrecognizable, for all the hipsters. It seems Mason Blackwood is to blame.
Lucy’s first day back in town she rescues one Charlie Tipdon, age 6, from getting hit by a SUV, while he rescued a cat. Charlie in his fear, bit her. His parents go from regretful for the rescue white over the bite. She finds herself being examined by the very hot local vet, who looks equally pale and grim over the bite. Which brings Mason Blackwood to her door, though what the hot Park Ranger has to do with her being bit she has no idea.
Mason has found his mate and she is in danger. Werewolf bites can be fatal, if not give by a true mate. Though Charlie is very young, his bite seems to be triggering the change. Lucy’s only chance is that Mason claiming her will counteract Charlies bite. He just has to convince Lucy that werewolves are real, that she is the alpha mate, and that they are perfect together.
Everything is complicated by the arrival of the National Council Alpha, his beta and enforcer. A set forest fire, and a former Alpha released from rehabilitation who has no love for the Blackwood pack and has ties to Lucy.
Fast paced and a little steamy. Love Ceila Kyles books. Smart and sassy heroines and the alpha mellows who adore them. Great start to a new series with co writer Marina Maddix.
Lucy moved back to the house she lived with her parents, her parents who were killed ten years ago.
On the first day there she rescues a little boy who almost got run over by a car. Bit the boy bit her and from that moment her life is changing. She is brought to the vet by the parents of the boy.
Mason is the alpha and he really needs his mate soon, before he turns feral. He has some signs of the beginning of that already.
He smells his mate on the vet and goes visiting Lucy.
Lucy is a strong woman who talks back to him.
But next to them meeting there is an evil wolf on the loose. Will Mason and Lucy survive this all together?
Great read with action and Mason taking care of Lucy and a very hot and steamy way after he gives her space while taking care of her.
*WARNING* contains explicit adult situations
Mason is the alpha of the Blackwood pack. Mason is in danger of going feral and with no mate in site, he knows it’s a very real possibility.
Lucy had to come home because she was accused of something she didn’t do at her job. Lucy hasn’t been home since her parents were killed.
I like the way the “friendly” neighboring pack comes into the story when it’s all explained in the end. I think the way Lucy’s sickness started was quite original. Good story with a good plot.
I for one love a shifter story and this was no different. The male character was amazing, I feel in love right away. Yeah, same as if wolf doesn’t find mate he will have to be dealt with, but the male characters are amazing to me. The female character could have done a little better, but all in all it was a great read. Now, I need to hear about Mason’s brother’s at least 😉
I was in need of a good shifter story and Real Men Howl delivered! Mason and Lucy’s story is fun, sweet, and heartfelt without being too heavy. I look forward to continuing the series – I’m hoping Mason’s brothers (Kade and Gavin) and the pack healer (Drew) get their own HEA’s! 3.5 out of 5 wine glasses.
Love this book
Great book. Too short. Would have enjoyed more.
I liked this whole series. The books are quick to read, funny in parts ,with some good plot twists. Romance should definitely have humor (so should real life) and these books deliver!
