From a secret duo of USA Today Bestselling Authors, comes the first COMPLETE STANDALONE in the Single Dads Club set of books.Red Flags… opinions mean shit.
Caterina Santora has her own list of red flags…
She’s too young.
She’s my client’s daughter.
She’s my five-year old’s camp counselor.
Even after repeating this mantra to myself every morning on the way to Lily’s summer camp, guess what happens the moment I see Cat? Yeah, that mantra turns into ride me, doggie style and reverse cowgirl.
Every. Damn. Time.
The fact that she doesn’t remember me from six years before grates on me until I don’t have it in me to leave her alone any longer. I have to have her. But our lives are opposites in every way. In no way compatible.
When we’re together all the complications fade away and I have to keep reminding myself, even if I can have her— I can’t keep her.

Age is just a number when you find the right person. sometimes you just have to go for it!
Good easy read. Not a lot of depth or drama and a bit predictable
Thought this was a great read. Great characters and chemistry. Enjoyed it so much that I looked for other books by the same author to enjoy.
Good book. Easy read. Characters were likable. Things were believable
Good story.
fun read
Holy hotness! This book was a swoon worthy, funny, sexy read which sucked you in and held your attention until the very end. I LOVED this book so much I couldn’t put it down and now waiting patiently for the next one! Amazing writing from an amazing duo, thank you for another great book Piper Rayne!
This is a fun and entertaining sorta second chance romance. Cat and Marcus know one another from six years ago. Her father is a client of Marcus’. At age eighteen, Cat propositioned Marcus and he shut her down in no uncertain terms. He’s ten years older than she is and there was no way he was going there. Now she’s back in town and is Lily’s, Marcus’ five-year-old daughter, camp counselor. Cat is all grown up and Marcus definitely notices and is very interested. Is it good or bad that Cat doesn’t remember Marcus?
The characters are a little deeper than you’d normally find in this kind of book. The drama is there, but certainly not over the top. If you’re looking for more of a rom-com, keep looking. If you’re looking for a good story with strong characters, a few struggles, and a happy ending go ahead and grab this one. It’s a solid 3-star story.
***** AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *****
There is something about a good single dad’s romance that makes my heart trip over itself! So Marcus was my favorite when he’s with Lily and when Lily is just in the scene. Marcus shined as a father. I did like the push and pull between Marcus and Cat. I loved that Cat was strong and doesn’t take any flack from Marcus. She gives it all right back, perhaps even more. I wanted to shake so many of those guys in the single dad’s club. I’m hoping that when they get hooked up with their special someone that they get put through the ringer and get put in their spot. I’m looking forward to it!
Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott have such great chemistry together. They both have the right voice for the characters which is one of the most important things to me. They really pulled off the fun, the sexual tension, the attraction. But the narrators really fit the characters so well that I was just lost in the story pretty quickly… even when the characters drove me slightly crazy!
Marcus is 10 years older than Cat, and they have met before. Now she is his camp counselor, he has a daughter, and he cannot resist her any more. Cat has grown up a lot since she first met Marcus. I liked her, and her soft heart. Marcus is not always a very nice guy. He is a control freak, and yet he often says the absolutely worst thing. There were times when I really wanted to smack him. Lily, his daughter, is sweet and full of light and energy. I loved reading how much Marcus loved her, and it allowed me to see his softer side. I liked the setting and the other guys in the Single Dad’s Club. There is heat and some angst in this one as they work through baggage to get their HEA.
This book was ok. I listened to the audiobook and felt like I should have enjoyed it more.
I thought the narration was pretty good. It seemed as though the sound faded a couple of times, but overall, I thought the narrators played off of each other very well.
There were a number of sex scenes in this book. I am not saying that because I was bothered or offended by them, I just thought they were incredibly boring. I had to rewind several times because I would tune out for so long, I would miss part of the next scene.
Dane was childish, ridiculous, and seemed to have no redeeming qualities other than his son Toby liked him. Garrett was a brooder. Marcus and Cat were irritating until they worked through that whole 6 year thing. Then they were just kind of boring. Cat’s roommates seemed kind of ditzy and self righteous at the same time. Not to mention they all behaved like they had these big secrets in their lives.
I understood Marcus trying to protect Lily, but I would have thought given her mother’s situation, he would have had legal documents in place a long time ago. I also understood why he didn’t want Lily to visit her, but I didn’t understand why he kept brushing her off, especially when she asked about her mother so often. The best part of the book was Lily.
Anyway that is just one woman’s opinion. I would recommend that you read or listen and judge for yourself.
I really wanted to like this second chance romance, but it was only OK.
Light, fun, endearing single dad romance. Cat and Marcus end up being a super cute couple and the ten year age difference doesn’t matter at all, because Cat is one strong heroine. She doesn’t take any bullshit and she’s mature for her age. Marcus is a genuinely good guy. He’s dedicated to his daughter and ultimately he’s willing to take a chance. The story pulled me in and I was a bit sad when I finished.
I love Piper Rayne. Their books are usually a good blend of sweet, funny, and sizzling. The Real Deal has these qualities, but some of the characters were hard to warm up to and I get tired of storylines when characters have all sorts of secrets. That gets tiresome. With that said, this book is an easy read and does have some charming attributes.
PROS: Marcus and his 5 yr old daughter’s relationship. Very sweet and Marcus puts Lily first in every choice he makes.
Catherine (Cat) has grown up since her first encounter with Marcus and has become a very mature, self confident woman. She is also great with the kids at the camp in which she is a counselor.
CONS: All the secrets. Marcus doesn’t tell Lily about her mom when she asks. The Sam with Cat when she broached the subject. Marcus and Cat pretending they never met before when both recall that fateful meeting 6 yrs earlier. The biggest annoyance is Marcus’ friemd Dane. Hes a big goofball and really annoying. Can’t imagine his story in this series would be one I’d like to read if he doesn’t make a huge change in his persona.
Overall, just an okay book.
Love everything Piper Rayne and this is no exception! Loved it!
This book is incredibly captivating, funny and romantic. Marcus is swoon worthy and Cat gives as good as she gets. Their attraction to each other can’t be denied, as hard as they both try, and their passion is electrifying . The characters are realistic – they have flaws and make mistakes, but nothing they can’t recover from. The banter between them, as well as the phenomenal secondary characters, is fun and keeps the story moving at a fast pace. I highly recommend this book and series promising that you will not be disappointed!
Single dad crushing on his kids camp councilor, whom he had to turn down years ago. She hot but some what forbidden. It’s as always a must read by Piper Rayne. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc, but I loved it so much I purchased my own copy.
I’m a member of the Single Dad’s Club and the other guys would say I’m obsessed with finding faults with every woman I date. I don’t trust women nor do I trust them not to break my daughters’ heart. None of their kid’s mothers calls a maximum-security prison home either, so their opinions don’t mean nothing to me.
Caterina Santora is my daughters’ Lily, summer camp counselor and she doesn’t remember me from six years ago and this fact really grates on my nerves. Cat also has her list of faults…too young, she’s my client’s daughter, etc. But even though I keep telling myself this I just can’t seem to leave her alone. I must have her even though we are not compatible.
When we’re together all the complications fade away and I have to keep reminding myself that’s it’s just until September, when she moves to New York. I can’t keep her can I?
Feel good story detailing the love and commitment a father has to his child. Second chance romans that shows love has no rules when it comes to differences in age and lifestyle. So glad these two overcame all obstacles to being together.
I loved it. I loved how Taliha and Lucas make an appearance. Can’t wait to read the next two books.
Oh my Marcus! Give me a man that is caring and will treat a woman right and I’m falling, add in a single dad that will do anything and everything for his child and I’m head over heels in love. The Single Dads club has a hilarious group of men that I can’t get enough of but when it comes to Caterina and Lily no one can tell Marcus to not be protective of them. This is a great story that had me hooked and couldn’t put down. I love how the characters from the other standalone series are intertwined within this one. I will undoubtedly be jumping into the other single dads books next.
