I loved this Rom-Com and Oliver Kingsley!
Thea is a wedding planner. In her way to a bachelorette party, she met Oliver Kingsley. That first encounter was so funny and unexpected. Thea helped others to get their happy ever after but she couldn’t find her. But Oliver Kingsley wanted to give her one of her own. This swoony and devoted single dad will steal your heart as conquered mine.
I enjoyed this book. I loved every funny, cute, romantic and steamy moment with Oliver and Thea. It was very entertained and a fun read. A beautiful crafted story about how to overcome fears to be with the right guy.
This is a standalone in the Country Love Collection. Next book is Fastest Girl in Town: A Standalone Romantic Suspense, and releases on March 26. Tequila: A Second Chance Romance, is part of this collection and is available now. All book are in KU.
***Highly Recommended.***
You will be hooked right from the get go with this book, I just loved Thea aka Dixie and what she went through and then became and good lord where do I find an Oliver of my own! here are plenty of laughs along with some cringe worthy moments as well as a couple of swoon worthy scenes and sad moments as we see Oliver and Thea dance around their attraction while Thea tries to organise Oliver’s daughter Jillian’s wedding. This was such a great read and a book I would likely read again as I enjoyed it soo much!!
Thea has been thrice on the verge on saying I do to three different men. Yet none came to fruition and she has closed herself off to her own HEA.
She is now a high profile and sought after Manhattan wedding planner.
Enter billionaire father of the bride Oliver. A workaholic who is used to getting what he wants.
He hires Thea as his daughters wedding planner yet his daughter doesn’t show to appointments. This out Thea and Oliver together for the planning. Oliver has plans to make the elusive Thea his.
These two characters were awesome and hilarious together. Loved the banter, setting and every chapter.
I highly recommend this book that I am volunteering to leave a review for.
Thea has left 3 men at the altar. Not because she’s a runaway bride, but because she was doing what was best for her – and none of those men, not the one she wasn’t in love, not the cheater, and not the abuser, were right for her. But now years later, she’s a successful wedding planner. Ironic right? And then she meets the commanding billionaire father of her latest bride and suddenly that elusive happily ever after just may be on her horizon. Perhaps. IF he can not be a typical man and react badly when he finds out her past. And IF she can forgive him for being a dick. Perhaps…
I LOVE this romantic comedy! It’s fun and witty, sexy and sharp, and this couple is absolutely perfect for each other. The real star, though, is Thea. She is amazing! Smart and strong and knows her worth and what she wants and deserves, and doesn’t settle for something and someone who doesn’t give her the love and adoration she deserves. Oliver is perfect for her even when he’s being a dumbass male, thank God he takes his head out of his ass and that she has a forgiving heart. This is my first read by this author, and I can definitely say now that it will most certainly not be my last.
Overall Rating – .5
This is the perfect rom-com, I was completely swept away by it and I just loved every minute.
Thea has been unlucky in love and has left 3 men at the alter – for very valid reasons, and is now living and working in NYC as a top wedding planner. She meets Oliver while running a business errand, running right into him and he helps her pick dildos up! There is an attraction there but they go their separate ways. Later on, Oliver turns up at her office looking for the best wedding planner in the city to plan a wedding for 4 weeks time for his daughter.
There are so much romance and sexy feelings in this book it was a joy to read. Thea has lost trust in those who are supposed to love her, having been majorly let down by them so giving in to Oliver was no easy task. But Oliver was persistent and made her see what could be if she just gave them a chance. I loved both these characters, they brought so much humour, you couldn’t help but laugh and smile along with them.
Sharp is one of those authors whose words I just get. They suck me in regardless of the story and I hang on every word. She also writes the best sex scenes bring all the heat! This is a really lighthearted fun read, minimal drama, set in a wedding setting where you will be swept of your feet with all the wedding duties, the couple and the ease of the story.

Great story and characters! I laughed the entire time!
I love it when Sharp catapults me into a world that I never want to leave. Ready to Run is another example of why Rebecca Sharp is my unicorn author! She took me on a rollercoaster of emotion. I laughed soo much. I cringed with Thea at those moments, and laughed some more.
Thea and Oliver are just amazingly perfect for each other. Thea a strong, independent wedding planner that owns the wedding scene in NY!! Oliver the King of Wall Street. They way they meet and fall in love is so exquisite, so right for them.
Sharps writing, once again is so beyond perfect. Her ability to craft and weave this amazing story is astounding. I’m always so blown away with her style of writing.
Super Sweet and funny story!
This is the perfect rom-com story with lots of humour and wonderfully sweet moments. Filled with fantastic characters and amazing storytelling makes this book come to life on the page!
Thea is a very strong woman who is ambitious and very spunky. She’s not going to let her past dictate her future. When she accidentally meets Oliver their instant attraction is hard to deny! They keep getting pushed together in unusual ways. Their chemistry is undeniable and so very sexy. I absolutely loved these two together.
From start to finish this is a fabulous, super sweet and very funny second chance romance that is so worth the read. I loved every second of it. Highly recommend.
This is a wonderful 4.5 star romantic comedy storyline forged through tragedy.
Dixie Dorothea Winston from Chicktown Alabama was a 18year young woman who was marrying her childhood sweetheart. Her mother was over the top arranging the wedding in the small country town. So you could imagine the fallout when Dixie left her fiancee at the alter. She wasn’t ready. After leaving two more Dixie was known as the Runaway Bride.
Dixie left town to start her own life away from the memories and feeling she just wasn’t meant to get married. Her track record was all the proof she needed.
So by shortening her name to Thea Winston her new life and career began as a wedding planner to ensure that her brides got there happy ever after.
Ready to run is a wonderfully written love story not yet told.
Oliver Kingsley is a wealthy divorced man used to getting what he wants and when it comes to his daughter Jillian and her upcoming wedding nothing will stop Oliver from him from giving his daughter what he wants. Not even the bride.
Thea and Oliver are the perfect mismatched couple. They work very well together.
Thea is a wedding planner. Thea is planning a billionaires daughters wedding, her policy is, don’t get involved with clients. Seems the universe has other plans. Can Thea resist her clients sexy father, will Thea ever get her happily ever after like her clients have?
This is my first book by Dr Rebecca Sharp. It’s hot, funny, romantic and an overall great read. I was pulled in from the start. I loved it. I highly recommend this book.
Ready to Run by Rebecca Sharpe. This is a whimsical tale of Dixie Dorothea Winston who after leaving 3 different fiancee’s at the altar leaves her small town in Alabama for the bright lights of New York city where she reinvents herself as Thea Winston wedding planner extraordinaire. Oliver Kingsley is use to getting his way. He is the master of wall street, filthy rich and has the looks of a model. He has decided that he wants to give his daughter a wedding and it needs to take place in 4 weeks. The best is what he expects so he goes to Thea not knowing he had met her on the street when they bumped into each other. The chemistry between them was instant. Each with relationship phobias finds themselves wanting to be together. However Thea knows her track record when it comes to men and relationship and doesn’t wants number 4. The journey the two are on to not only pulling off a wedding that normally takes a year or two to pull off but finding their own happily ever after was truly enjoyable and downright comical. Regardless to how persistent Thea was to keep her distance after their initial hook up, Oliver is even more persistent to make Thea his. Like he keeps saying he has enough money to make it happen. Smiles all the way through this book. I could have read more about those two. Crazy, Sexy, Cool! 5 stars for me
Ready to Run is a standalone and is Dixie Dorothea Winston & Oliver Kingston’s story.
Dixie is a runner! She has been up to the altar three times.. Dixie has a good reason for leaving the grooms but you will have to read Ready to Run to know why! So Dixie moved away, all the way to the big city, New York. She put her experience with her own wedding planning to good use. Now she is Thea Winston of Winston Weddings.
How Thea meets Oliver is hilarious! Shortly after they meet Oliver shows up at her office. An embarrassing moment for Thea. Oliver is out to hire a wedding planner for his daughter’s wedding and he only hires the best money can buy and he will have to pay since the wedding is in 4 weeks. Thankfully money isn’t something he has to worry about since he is one of the richest men in New York!
I loved reading Ready to Run. It was funny. It was sexy and it was good!!! 4.5 stars

Once again rebecca has kicked her new release out of the ball park with a fun and sexy read.
I loved everything about this book and the characters, I could t put it down once I’d picked it up I devoured it in one sitting.
Everything that I read of Rebecca’s just makes me excited for what’s to come.
AMAZING.
Thea is inspiring that everyone deserves their happily ever after even though she has decided it won’t happen for herself. Her ability to leave her hometown and pursue her passion after her family let’s her down is exciting. Now a successful wedding planner in Manhattan, sought out by celebrities to plan their nuptials. Her first encounter Oliver, most eligible billionaire, is funny and unexpected. When this sexy man shows up in her office needing her services to plan his daughter’s wedding, well, that is the last thing Thea expects. With a short timeline, Thea finds herself spending more and more time with Oliver to finalize plans as Jillian, his daughter, keeps cancelling her appointments. Oliver is a workaholic, knows what he wants and goes after it. His reaction to Thea surprises even him and he finds himself wanting to be around her even if it involves dancing and tasting cake. But Thea still believes she isn’t capable of happily ever after so what will she do as her feeling grow for Oliver? How will Oliver react when he learns Thea truth about her past relationships? There are so many fun and refreshing moments between Thea and Oliver that creates a natural build to their connection. I needed them to realize that love is possible between them. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
Talk about laugh out loud funny! Oh Dixie! She had me laughing after her first engagement. Rebecca Sharp wrote a witty and funny rom com story that will make me want to re read it again and again.
Thea “Dixie” didn’t want to live the simple town get married once you graduate high school life and then get pregnant. So she left husband to be #1. Then unfortunate things happened right before wedding #2 that made her not go through with the ceremony. And lets just say who wants to be surprised with their own wedding. Thea left her small town and started anew. She wasn’t looking for love since it wasn’t in her cards, but she could make everyone else’s come true.
Oliver, #1 billionaire bachelor in New York City and doesn’t know the meaning of the word no. When his daughter gets engaged and she’s a nervous wreck because she has no time before her internship to plan, Oliver stops at nothing to make her day the best. To make it the best she needs the best, she needs Thea Winston to be exact. From the beginning, Thea and Oliver have this instant hot chemistry. But with two big egos and neither of them willing to back down first this story will take you on one hell of a roller coaster ride.
I’m such a fan of Rebecca’s book. She can always hook me with her characters and stories that make me swoon and laugh. This is a must read!!
I really enjoyed this book. It was fun watching Thea and Oliver fall in love.
I enjoyed Thea and Oliver’s story. It was cute, quick, and threw two people together who would likely never interact otherwise. From the moment of their incredibly embarrassing first encounter to their reconciliation, strings were being pulled that neither had complete control over. In fact, Jillian did quite a bit of matchmaker playing. Yes, the bride. That’s right. She somewhat stole the show at points with her machinations, but that’s totally fine by me. Thea and Oliver definitely needed the metaphorical kick to the head, so as to un-jumble their heads and hearts before it was too late.
My only somewhat issue with this book is that it feels almost like deja vu. I have a feeling that wedding planners and New York are on a few authors’ minds this year since this is the second or third release in the last two months or so that includes a wedding planner, the man who should be all wrong, New York, some painful past experiences for a character, and some incredibly funny moments. And even that may not be much of an issue, since they’ve been enjoyable reads! I’ll be interested to see where we head next in this series.
Ready to Run by Rebecca Sharp is pure romance bliss. Thea and Oliver’s story is the brilliant balance of heartwarming, swoonworthy and heartaching emotions. This is the kind of romance that makes my heart soar and body sing!
Thea has escaped her small town in Alabama and her “reputation” as runaway bride. And now she is the most sought after wedding planner of New York City. Her first meeting with Billionaire Oliver Kingsley happened by accident involving stuck up shoes and a bag of party sex toys. She gets off balance when the same man comes to her office and wants to hire her for his daughter’s marriage just four weeks away. So starts the push and pull, burn and sizzle, twists and turns…Thea is afraid of thinking about her own Happily Ever After. And Oliver never wanted a woman so completely like Thea. The story progressed through a series of wedding related accidental activities that brings us to the heartbreaking turn of events. Can they move forward and accept their feelings?
I love fairytales. I mean who doesn’t. If Prince Charming has a successful business, wore pricey suits and behaved like an arrogant, controlling and bossy alpha..that would be Oliver for you. He has an easy grace and magical charm that made me swoon, sigh, melt and burn. Thea’s character was really complex and I absolutely respect her. She is strong and resilient enough to get back from the initial disasters in her life and to make a name for herself. She is the person who encouraged Oliver’s daughter, Jillian to choose own happiness over fear of disappointing her father. She may have a cracked and scared heart but she still can love wholeheartedly. And what can I say about the grand yet simple romantic moments in this story? They were just breathtaking! I ooh’d and aah’d because my romantic heart was so happy! The picture perfect moments through those Oliver and Thea fall in love slowly will forever be stored in my heart. Of course the steam and passion was there. Right along with the misunderstandings, confusions anf doubt. Overall, the author made a concoction that will win your heart.
Ready To Run by Rebecca Sharp epitomised every single good thing about romance. It was positively dreamy and completely charismatic writing!
Received ARC for honest review.
4*
Dixie is known as the runaway bride. Moving to Manhattan shes now establised herself as Thea Winston premier wedding planner.
Oliver is surprised to find the dildo lady he helped is Thea and needs to convince her to help with his daughter’s wedding, no problem. The challenge is is in 4 weeks.
I loved the characters Thea with her determination to stand up to Oliver, Oliver the father wanting the best for his daughter.
Another great story
Ready To Run by Dr Rebecca Sharp is a sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking tale.
Thea escapes small town Alabama and makes it big in NYC. As an extremely successful wedding planner, Thea sees to the HEA of others, before herself.
That all changes when she meets Oliver Kingsley. The same Oliver Kingsley who is incredibly successful, rich and good looking.
When Oliver and Thea’s paths cross, there is nothing to stop them from becoming romantically involved, or so Oliver thinks. Thea on the other hand tries to remain on a professional footing… How’d that work out for you Thea??
Their journey is at times hysterically funny but oftentimes thought provoking to the point of sad.
However, this is a gorgeous tale of family, love and acceptance as well as the power (or not) of the mighty dollar! Can money buy happiness? Thea, Oliver, Jillian and Roger all find this out one way or another over the course of this highly readable tale.
As it transpires, the inspiration for Ready To Run is hidden in plain sight but becomes an ‘aha’ moment after the last page has been turned. You won’t be disappointed, neither in this newest addition to the catalogue of Dr Rebecca Sharp, or in its inspiration!
