Publishers Weekly Bestselling author and Kindle Unlimited All Star, Christy Barritt, brings readers a fun new series that will have fans trying to solve a mystery and laughing out loud.I’m not really a private detective. I just play one on TV.Joey Darling, better known to the world as Raven Remington, detective extraordinaire, is trying to separate herself from her invincible alter ego. She … alter ego. She played the spunky character for five years on the hit TV show Relentless, which catapulted her to fame and into the role of Hollywood’s sweetheart.
When her marriage falls apart, her finances dwindle to nothing, and her father disappears, Joey finds herself on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, trying to piece her life back together away from the limelight. A woman finds Raven—er, Joey—and insists on hiring her fictional counterpart to find a missing boyfriend. When someone begins staging crime scenes to match an episode of Relentless, Joey has no choice but to get involved.
Joey’s bumbling sleuthing abilities have her butting heads with Detective Jackson Sullivan and kindling sparks with thrill-seeking neighbor Zane Oakley. Can Joey channel her inner Raven and unearth whodunit before she ends up totally done in? And where is her father anyway? Can she handle fame, or is disappearing into obscurity the wiser option?

Great book
It was an entertaining book, that was fun to read. It was a little predictable.
It was hard to stop reading once I started the book. The story provides a mystery that is a little quirky but not sure how it is going to end. I can’t wait to continue the series.
Fun, light read.
I love Christys books but not this one. I didn’t like the main character at all or for that matter any of the characters. I couldn’t finish the book but most of her books are fabulous and I can’t wait to read them
Ready to Fumble is entertaining at first, and many of the characters are appealing. It has an intriguing and original story line, but it should have been condensed into a few chapters as the beginning of a larger book in which all the threads get resolved. Some characters are superfluous and others aren’t drawn finely enough to get to know, and it’s some of those who figure in the ending but I’d forgotten who they were. I got this ebook free but won’t be buying the rest of the series just to see if it ever, ever ends.
This was a okay book, it was very simple in the characters.
Good concept .Easy to read will look forward to others in the series.
just not my type of book
This is the kind of book for a vacation read on the east coast beach in a tourlist town. Loved the characters, they were believeable with problems that needed solved. Enjoyed the plot, the only thing is I am wondering what happeded to the father, guess I will need to read the next book!
A very well written, page turner!! I had no idea who was guilty until I was told at the end. When the book finished I was disappointed -only because I wanted more.
Thank you for a fun, entertaining story!!
Loved the book. Only a 4 rating because I wish the book had ended. I like stories that build onto each other, but not when it feels that the story doesn’t end.
had no idea what to expect from this book, but it certainly kept my interest. The plot was original. I would like to continue reading this series, but once I saw how many books are in the Series, I had second thoughts. Though, I am curious about the mystery surrounding Joey’s father. Plus, I am have no idea if Joey will fall for the straight-lace detective, Jackson, or will have an affair with her zany, and exciting neighbor, Zane.
Ready to Fumble is author Christy Barritt’s first book in a new series, and I am already hooked! I received this book in exchange for an honest review and I literally couldn’t put it down! I read the entire book in two days. Poor Joey has gone through several rough life events and now her father is missing. After becoming a well-loved and well-paid TV star, Joey returns to her previous occupation, a hair stylist, on the Outer Banks of North Carolina — in January! But her former “occupation” as a TV Detective catches up with her as she is drawn into the case of a missing boyfriend. As Joey reluctantly searches for the truth in the ensuing murder, as well as looking for her father, she clashes with a real police detective, Jackson Sullivan, and enjoys spending time with her surfer neighbor, Zane, who she is sure is a playboy. I didn’t figure out whodunit until the very end. I loved the characters, and the mysteries involved, and look forward to Book #2 coming out soon!
Enjoyed reading
