Tall, dark, and handsome is an understatement when it comes to John Day. With rugged good looks, his ever present plaid shirt, and a dog named Babe, John is a modern alpha male lumberjack.
After his favorite neighbor rents out her beach cabin for the winter, John finds himself playing fireman and tour guide to Diane Watson, a beautiful brunette with her own messy past and recent battle scars.
battle scars.
Will he be ready to fall in love? Or will he go back to his old, flirty ways?
Hold onto your heart as John Day tells his story in this male POV contemporary adult romance/romantic comedy.
Ready to Fall is the first novel in the Wingmen series, a spin-off from Modern Love Stories. Each book is a standalone with no cliffhanger.

I started the Wingman series with Tom’s book (Confessions of a Reformed Tom Cat) and quickly went back to read John Day in Ready to Fall. Daisy writes with a whimsical, light touch that connects to deeper emotion in her characters. Grab a cup of tea or coffee, curl up on the sofa, and prepare to be transported into a wonderful world.
A will he wont he story, with well written hero and heroine. Both are battle scarred from foray in love in the past. Will they be able to trust themselves and another again, maybe?
I liked the story, but it is just a sex book. Too much.
An enjoyable love story in a nice setting. Loved John and Diane. Could have used a little more conflict though.
How does a city girl fall for a lumberjack? Read Ready to Fall by Daisy Prescott and you’ll have a fine idea of how. With enough humor and a touch of romance, this story of John Day and Diane Watson is an trip into small town Northwest. Although the reading may get bogged down in the heavy emotion each character experiences, it’s worth it to find …
I just loved this book. Not sure what I was thinking when I began, but I was quickly drawn in to the simple plot. First, I loved the setting: a very small island off the coast of Washington State, very close to the Canadian border. Then, I loved the hero: he was sort of the embodiment of the Old Hollywood good guy–strong, good-looking, …
After the first three pages I had had enough of rotton language.
Sometimes when you least expect it, true love finds you.
Lumberjack, John, plays tour guide and next door neighbor to Diane who has rented the cabin next to him. Characters make this story believable and romantic.
Really enjoyed this Book.
Characters were interesting and realistically portrayed; both individually and within relationships.
I really enjoyed this “feel-good” read! The characters were believable and endearing.
I did like the book but it was a little draggy sometimes
horrible language!
I thought this book was very sweet. I liked reading a romance from the mans perspective. I also really enjoyed John and Diane’s relationship, the banter was cute. It could be a little slow in the beginning ,but I liked that.
Get ready to fall in love with these characters!
I never imagined that one day it would be unusual to read a love story about two completely normal, average people. John Day is not a billionaire, a rock star, a vampire, or a shifter. He’s just a regular guy, with normal guy hang-ups. Diane is different from any woman he has known before this. At …
I did not want to put this down. The characters were what kept me wanting more. Well written story.
Boring. Easy to put down.
I read through 8 chapters of this book and kept waiting for it to get better, something to happen, never did 🙁
Enjoyable but a little slow.
