Ready on Set Drama (Brooker Brothers Detective Agency #3) was a great read by Maisie Dean. Kacey is now working undercover as a personal assistant to an actor. Kacey must find out who is trying to destroy his career. I really enjoyed reading Kacey and the brothers trying to figure out who the culprit is. I can’t wait to read more by Maisie Dean.
READY ON SET DRAMA is the third book in the Booker Brothers Detective Agency series. Though each will stand on their own, it is best to read them all and in the order of release
This is the perfect timing for this story in the series. Kacey is faced with her former life as an actress while investigating her newest assignment. She is established as a PI, but starting to feel a longing to return to return to the limelight. The push and pull can be strong.
How about this for a twist in a cozy mystery? There is no body. Nobody died! Instead, this is a straight up investigative job for Kacey on the studio set of a pilot episode of a new show. This story was more about the psychology of sabotage for their client and Kacey’s decision to stay with the firm or return to acting.
I love this series and I’m enjoying every episode. The first paragraph, it was hinted that Kacey will eventually be romantically connected with one of the Booker Brothers. Three books in and we don’t know which one yet. I love the anticipation!
Narration: The narrator is Marie Hoffman and she is one of my favorites. Her voice continues to delight as she provides a perfect reading experience.

This is the third book in the Booker Brothers Detective Agency. I have not read any of the prior books in the series and had no trouble following the story or characters. The book is a stand alone story with no cliffhanger ending.
Here, Kasey is now a detective [having previously been an actress]. She’s a bit unsure that she has chosen correctly to leave her acting career behind. She then starts a case involving a well-known TV actor who claims that someone is trying to sabotage his career. Kasey goes undercover as the actor’s assistant so she has to go to the set every day – which also starts her thinking about going back to acting. So, will Kasey quit her investigation and try to become an actress? And who is trying to railroad the actors career?
This is a clean and light cozy. Kasey and her friends are likeable and fun. Kasey’s crisis in career decisions is completely relateable — the grass is always greener… — especially when you have worked so hard towards something you thought was your goal/passion. Very enjoyable.
I listened to this book – the narrator did a very nice job. She was bubbly and quirky just as I imagine Kasey.

This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. These are short and clean books and sprinkled heavily with humor which makes them nice to relax with! This time Kacey really does some soul searching as she does her job. She gets a call to help investigate at a studio. Before she wanted to be an actress and had given up, mostly, to work for the detective agency. Now that she is back with the actors, the lights, etc. She isn’t sure she wants to quit looking now. In the middle of this, she has a job to do. I really liked this one. This mystery had me stumped. Great mystery. Wonderful characters that I have grown to love! The author makes them seem so realistic! A believable story and told in a very exciting way. Great book!
