Bestselling author Kurt Remington lives to write. He spends twelve hours a day in front of his computer, rarely leaving the seclusion of his beach-front property, where he’s come to finish his latest thriller — that is, until free-spirited Leanna Bray nearly drowns in the ocean trying to save her dog. Kurt’s best-laid plans are shot when he comes to their rescue. Kurt’s as irritated as he is intrigued by the sexy, hot mess of a woman who lives life on a whim, forgets everything, and doesn’t even know the definition of the word organized.
Leanna’s come to the Cape hoping to find a fulfilling career in the jam-making business, and until she figures out her own life, a man is not on the menu. But Leanna can’t get the six-two, deliciously muscled and tragically neat Kurt out of her mind. She tells herself she’s just stopping by to say thank you, but the heart-warming afternoon sparks an emotional and unexpectedly sweet ride as Kurt and Leanna test the powers of Chemistry 101: Opposites Attract.

Love Addison’s books!
A fun, heart-warming read! Don’t miss out.
A sweet and lovely story of the bonds of friends and family, of falling love and learning to trust in those feelings. The beautiful imagery and endearing characters will grab you and the banter between these Seaside sisters will keep you laughing.
I was looking forward to reading this book as I enjoy sweet books. While there is no graphic sex (it’s alluded to, but we don’t actually read about it), and there wasn’t any coarse language, this is not exactly a clean read. Meaning, if you are a person of faith (or just a regular reader) who prefers not reading about a woman in her panties, you will want to skip over this series. Leeanna is so endearing! Though she her life is chaotic and she’s completely disorganized, there is something inherently likable about her. She is real, not fake, perfect, or any of those perfect sounding women in romance novels; she’s lucky if she remembers to eat or discipline her dog! Kurt is so rigid, such a stick in the mud, that he absolutely NEEDED a woman like Leeanna in his life. She breaks down his walls and shows him that always adhering to a schedule and not taking the time to enjoy the sunshine is a life unlived. And there is nothing like a cute dog to make a book that much sweeter to read. Foster/Cole is an amazing storyteller. This series is absolute genius, not just because it’s listed as a sweet read, but adding in some heat (just a tad bit over PG 13+) takes it to a whole new level without compromising the entire story.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Please make sure to read the note from the author. She explains about this series.
Kurt Remington loves to put words to paper. Well, at least he did. Leanna Bray is at her wit’s end. But she’s a free spirit who makes me wish I could be more like her. She also has a great bunch of friends that will keep you laughing. They also have you wanting to spend more time with them.
Right off the bat we have a scene-stealer and his name is Pepper. If you need a book with a little comic relief, that would be this one. It’s also a great cuddle book and most definitely a beach read. Makes me wish that my e-reader did better at the beach – can never see the screen, too much sun glare maybe.
One bad thing about Leanna is that she does some cooking that I swear at times I could almost smell it. And that just made me hungry. If I read again I’ll just have to make sure to have something handy the next time the hunger pangs get too much.
Also loved the back and forth banter the author created between her main characters. They always seemed to have a way of making me chuckle. It left me looking forward to the rest of the series. I don’t live too far from the Cape and I can picture myself taking a vacation down there with the complete series and having a reading marathon. This first book was sweet but also sexy without being graphic. It will be interesting to see how Ms. Cole continues this new series.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
just started this set of books and love it trying to keep for vacation but not sure that is going to work
Bestselling author Kurt Remington leads a very structured, solitary life. He works out in the morning and writes for 8-10 hours every day on his oceanfront deck overlooking Cape Cod bay. This routine allows him to be immersed in his writing zone as he crafts his latest suspense book. However, Kurt’s writing schedule is interrupted when he hears Leanna Bray calling her puppy. He watches as the disobedient animal runs into the ocean and gets pulled into a strong current. The chemistry between Kurt and Leanna sizzles when Kurt rescues the puppy and returns him to Leanna.
Leanna is open and honest person, who is a free spirit and a bit scatterbrained. She inherited jam making recipes from a friend and has decided to start a home- based business. In order to pursue this opportunity, Leanna decides to spend the summer making jam and homemade bread at her family’s Cape Cod cottage I loved that Leanna’s appreciation of the little things in life opened up a new world for Kurt—she brought color and sound into his black and white world. Kurt listened, supported and believed in Leanna. Their romance is the perfect mix of passion, humor and romance!
Addison Cole’s descriptive writing style shines in this story! While reading the book, I could imagine Kurt immersed in writing his novel on his deck overlooking the ocean while Leanna spent the afternoon nearby on the beach. The scenes which describe Leanna making jam and the sticky mess in her kitchen made me smile. The brightly colored buildings of Provincetown, the large outdoor flea markets and the Wellfleet drive-in come to life in this book. Leanna’s friends and their stories are woven throughout the novel. Loved the relationship between Leanna and her Seaside friends Bella, Jenna and Amy. They tease, listen and support each other— just like sisters. The Seaside neighborhood captures the small town community feeling perfectly-from the bonfires to the last minute wine parties on the deck.
However, Leanna fears that her relationship with Kurt will change when she is offered a huge contract which stipulates that her products be locally made. Kurt summers on the Cape, he lives in New York. She worries that they won’t be able to make a long distance relationship work. The heartfelt conclusion to Leanna and Kurt’s story has several surprises and is perfect for the couple. Melissa Foster blends passion, friendship and humor in Read, Write, Love at Seaside resulting in the perfect summer read!
What a fun book to read!
Gave up on this book as boring after two chapters. A year later I forgot that I have quit on it and started it again. This time I made it three chapter before deceiding that I should not have to “Power Through” a book and so I quit again. I’m now deleting it from my cloud so I don’t accidentailly start it again.
A sweet story of love most unexpected. Kurt’s world is turned upside down when he helps Leanna. Their chemistry is believable, and I loved this book and the narrator. I definitely recommend this sweet read.
After listening to this book, I want to move to the Cape and become part of Leanna’s group of fun friends. I also have to wonder if there might be another man around there like Kurt. He is such a wonderful, sexy man. Their relationship is such a sweet romance. It is also very flirty, and with just the right amount of heat that makes our imagination go wild. I loved this book. It was such a fun, but oh, so romantic story. The narrator for the audiobook, Melissa Moran, does an outstanding job with it.
I loved the characters and their arc. Just a feel good kind of read and super fun and relatable

I listened to the audiobook of this, and it was a sweet, light, enjoyable story with great narration. This was the “sweet with heat” version of Melissa Foster’s Read, Write, Love. Sometime when a scene was omitted to make the read “sweeter”, I felt like I’d missed something and the flow of the story was affected – especially if the scene was referred to later. Overall though, this was a fun book to listen to – Leanna & Kurt were very likable and their friends and family were great too. I look forward to reading more of this series, but would be inclined to read the steamier versions.
I really enjoyed this somewhat sweet romance. I voluntarily chose to review it. I’ve given it a 4.7* rating. There is a lot of sexual reference in this and I know I wouldn’t want my young granddaughter to read this. Parts of it were funny and some serious. A real nice ending.
Jam
Leanna us trying to catch her dog before he drowns, Kurt is writing and comes to their rescue. There us some kind of instant connection. This is a beautiful story about that can start off because of accident.
Was a light hearted book, I felt like I was a part of the group of friends!!!
Cant wait to read more from this author.
A really nice read with a terrific storyline!!!
If you are familiar with Melissa Foster, you know that she not only writes hot romance but she builds communities populated with by people you want as your best friends.
In this still steamy but not explicit series, Melissa, writing as author Addison Cole, shares the adventure, the fun and all of the romance without the graphic detail we prefer left to our own imaginations. After reading this series, I wanted to move to the beach.
The first book of the Sweet With Heat: Seaside Summers series takes us to the beach, to a close knit seasonal community. The residents are not related but they are family. While the girls may be the center of the pranks and adventure, they are warm, open, friendly and inviting to all – as long as you don’t mess with one of their own.
Kurt Remington enjoys his privacy. He prefers peace and quiet allowing him to focus on his writing and the worlds he creates. When in “the zone” he lives in his head. He is not looking for a distraction.
Leanna could not be more different. She is spontaneous and messy and lives in the moment exactly where she is. She often acts without thinking through the consequences. She becomes a huge distraction for Kurt and it is the best thing to happen for each of them.
I love how each of the characters relates and shows their own personality, how protective everyone is of Leanna, even while they and I were cheering on the lovers. A beautiful introduction to a series where each book is complete but you can’t wait for your next visit.
Enjoyed very much!
