Read Between The Lines (Freshwater Book 1) by Belinda Williams
Kat is a woman with a successful career and is a local celebrity in her hometown. She’s satisfied with her life, or so she thinks. She meets Matt in the most interesting way and life gets more interesting from there.
Matt is Super Doc and shows that to us several times. He is smart, confident, humble and vulnerable which made me fall for him. I loved that he isn’t the typical perfect, flawless book boyfriend.
My big question is how did I not know about this author before I stumbled on this book? I have no idea how that happened but now that I have found her I’m going to get caught up with everything she has released so far and I will be keeping up with this series.
Read Between The Lines (Freshwater Book 1) by Belinda Williams was a deep read. On the front of it there is sass and humor but on the back end there is a heaviness. I had a great time reading and look forward to the rest of the series. Kat is strong and self sufficient and Matt is smart and challenging. I enjoyed the depth of the characters, the plot, and the growth. A well worth it contemporary romance!
I really loved this book and the characters we meet. Kat is independent and wants to use her interview skill on her neighbor, Matt. They both discover secrets and time will tell if they’ll be revealed.
The story pulled me right in and I really loved the realistic way this read. I felt like I was right there with them every step of the way.
I hope the rest of the series follows some of the characters we met in this story. Highly recommend.
This is a great romance about learning to trust someone again.
Kat is a popular person on a tv show. When shes infront of the camera she is honest and open however her private life is a different story. A bad experience with an x and other secrets in her life means she has closed herself off to people especially love interests. That is until her next door neighbour arrives.
Matt is a very hard working guy in a hosptal. His work is his life and since the break up of his last relationship he hasnt looked for anyone since. Until he meets Kat. Hes knows she is guarded but she intrigues him and he wants to know more.
They both have secrets but if Matt opens up will that allow Kat to do the same. The attraction between them is real, honest and open. Can this allow Kat to let Matt in and trust a lover again.
Read Between The Lines is the first book in the Freshwater series by Belinda Williams. It was the first time that I had read any of this author’s work but judging by how much I enjoyed this book, I’ll definitely be looking out for more in this series and other works by this author.
Kat Chalmers is a successful current affair presenter on TV. She’s a very independent woman with fantastic interview skills which she uses to get to know her handsome new neighbour Matt Goodridge. Matt previously worked as a paramedic but has retrained as an obstetrician and has a secret that he’s determined to keep to himself. Will Kat use her interview skills and discover what Matt is trying to hide?
This is a fantastic story that will draw you in from the very beginning and take you on a fantastic journey throughout the whole story. The story flows very well and has great, well written characters that you can really relate to.
One thing I loves about this book is that it tackles the sometimes taboo subject of mental illness. As someone who has suffered from depression and anxiety all my adult life, I love that this author chose to tackle this brave subject and did so with great compassion, raising awareness for this often stigmatised condition. Kudos to Belinda Williams for this.
100% recommend this book to others.
Read Between The Lines is the first book in Belinda Williams’ Freshwater series. It follows television host Kat and obstetrician Matt from their first encounter, through the broken partition on their adjoining balconies, as they get to know each other. Both are eager to get to know each other, but both have aspects of their own lives they would rather not share.
I particularly liked Kat’s development over the course of the story. She was always quick to judge people, deciding how she felt about them even before she’d met them in some cases. This was a skill that helped her in her interviews, leading her to ask the right questions. But, as she got to know people and let them in to her life, she began to see that people were more than her first assessments of them. From the reader’s perspective, this meant we also had our own assumptions about characters put into question and were reminded not to judge characters, and people, we don’t really know.
The setting was lovely – by the sea in Australia. I haven’t read many books set in Australia, so it was lovely having something that had a bit of local colour to it. The characters spend a lot of time looking out over the waves, or exercising on the sand. Perfect escapism!
For me, this is a five star book. A really enjoyable read. I felt properly invested in the characters and enjoyed getting to know them as they became comfortable enough to reveal a bit more about themselves. Would definitely recommend to romance fans who enjoy characters with busy lives and loveable friends!
This story is a quaint little story that I found interesting. The plot line is engaging. I found myself right there with Kat. I can understand where she is coming from. I like to dig deep and get to know people who I find interesting. Matt tries to keep to himself. He has no need for the spotlight. Kat and Matt have secrets that they want behind that closet door. What will Matt and Kat do to keep their secrets from coming out? This is a great love story and I recommend you pick it up to see if Kat and Matt get together/
This was my first read by this author and it was a great introduction to this authors writing style and brilliant storyline.
I was captivated by this read immediately I loved meeting these characters and reading about their connection and chemistry blossom, it was a beautiful, real and raw, but not without its complications of Secrets, trust issues and sometimes miscommunication, but nevertheless it was a connection I loved reading about and watching it develop into something I think these two characters desperately need!
I connected on every level with these characters and was hoping that nothing would hold them back from getting a HEA.
This book was written with great sensitivity and really gave a brilliant insight into mental illness and gave great awareness!
I loved reading this book and so glad I picked the read up!
I can’t wait to see if Kat & Matt’s story continues but I also can’t wait to read the secondary’s characters stories as-well!
I highly recommend this read!
This is a nice story of the possible relationship between neighbors. The story is good. The characters are professionals but they each have another side to them. This touches on a sensitive subject. I loved reading how each of the characters reacted to the situations. It was fun watching them fall. I don’t think I have ever read a book with an OB doctor as the main character. That was different. I liked it.
The secondary characters add some fun to this story. Each character has a crazy fun best friend. They made me laugh and gave me a different look at their friend.
