As a Special Forces operative, Aaron Spears treated relationships like Tangos. He’d seen the wreckage of his Task Force brothers’ attempts and had no desire to put any woman through the hardship. He had one purpose – serve his country and protect his teammates. Then Celine Latimer walked into his life and turned his world upside down.Celine Latimer thought she’d hit the jackpot when hunky SF … hunky SF operative Aaron Spears asked her to accompany him to the high-profile wedding of Senator Cotter’s daughter. They’d get to spend two weeks together while Aaron pulled guard duty for Caroline Cotter and Celine intended to use every spare minute, seducing the man she’d had a crush on for over a year.
The time and place proved to be more of a barrier than either of them realized. With his commander watching his every move, Aaron couldn’t afford to show any weakness. That meant ignoring Celine.
Rejected and hurt, Celine packed to leave only to be caught in a kidnapping plot against the Senator. Here she sat, in a hut in the Middle East, waiting on a rescue that may never come.
He’d sworn to protect and he’d failed. Now Aaron lived for one purpose- to rescue the woman he lost before she’s sold into slavery and spend the rest of his life making her see how much he loves her.
This book was previously published as a novella Aaron’s Honor and has been expanded into a full length manuscript

Celine was helping the Special Forces team scorpion protect a woman getting married, when she was kidnapped. Celine is a hairdresser and was kept for two weeks in Afghanistan. She’s almost raped but defends herself and runs into an American man. She thinks the man is there to rescue them but he plans to sell Celine and keep Caroline. Before she can be delivered, Aaron and his team rescues her. Aaron is part of the team and has swore to never get involved with a woman. But Celine has broken through his walls and he’ll do anything to protect her. Action, suspense and steamy. I love this series. Mrs. Cross does an excellent job telling a story.
Aaron and Celine are such an explosive combo. What do you expect? Lots of action, suspense, steam and violence. This is not for the faint of heart reader. Celine and Caroline, the bride, get kidnapped and Aaron and his team have to find a way to get them home safe. If you have read any of The Men of Mercy series, you will NOT be disappointed.
I voluntarily received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 6.6 in the totally amazing Men of Mercy series and it features Riser Malone and Laney Browder. You got a love these giant, loyal, sexy military men. When these guys fall, they fall hard and fast. These women don’t have a chance. Lucky ladies! Riser is intense and because of his past, self diagnosed failure, with the kidnapping of Caroline Cotter, he had a need to protect. One thing Riser and his teammates do NOT like is men who beat up on women and children.
This is an insta-love story but it is just as awesome as the rest of the Men of Mercy series. I always look forward to anything written by Lindsay Cross.
So I feel like with this one it would be more beneficial if you read Rebellious River before jumping into this one because you definitely need more of the context. Although I think you could get the jist of what has happened from this book. Although if you really want to be benefited read the whole series from book 1. You won’t regret, it’s fabulous!
Anyway this story pretty much leaves from where we left Ethan’s, and Aaron and the team are looking for Celene and Caroline. This book hit me in the feels, I had so much emotions running through me when reading this book it was hard to keep up, the guilt that Aaron felt you could practically feel it pouring off the page, and also the guilt that Celine feels about Caroline and her not being back yet. As well as their relationship and the pain they felt. It was a whirlwind of emotions and I should have been prepared but I wasn’t. I was in no way prepared for feeling those emotions when they came.
I loved that we got to see some of the bonding between Caroline and Celene whilst they were kidnapped it was very interesting to see how important they were to each other and keeping each other alive. I really enjoyed those scenes.
This book was so amazing, I loved the plot, I loved that once Aaron had Celene back he wasn’t willing to let her go again. I loved their romance. Actually one of my favourite scenes in this book actually my two favourite is when Celene tells Caroline what happened when she and Aaron had sex. But even better than that was seeing it ourselves written. When the commander caught Celene and Aaron having sex I couldn’t help but laugh it was the best thing in this book and it was fabulous. I couldn’t have imagined it any better and it was my favourite bit in this book.
I do have to say I love Noni! I love that she makes an appearance in this book! Such great, characters, great plot, a great advance on the overarching plot running through the series!
Cherish what you have today because you never know what tomorrow will take away. Can a hardened soldier open his heart to love? When the woman he walks away from to protect ends up being kidnapped, there is nothing he won’t do to get her back. Very sweet HEA ending. This story will entice you to read the Men of Mercy series. Mystery, intrigue, controversy & conflict, layers of deceit and betrayal that have been building for decades. Loyalty is tested, commands are questioned. Happy Reading!
Special Operative Aaron Speirs is the assistant medical Sergeant and weapons expert and has had his whole life flipped upside down when the girl he wants to be with is grabbed in an undercover operation and now he needs to get her back.
Celine Latimer can’t believe her luck when she ends up with Aaron one night but when he walks away in the morning she is left heartbroken. When she is taken with Caroline Cotter she knows she has to do what it takes to survive.
Will Aaron be able to get to Celine before it’s too late?
This is another great book in the series and I am loving where all of this is headed!
I felt bad for Aaron with losing Celine as it was obvious how much he cared about her but after their night together he was afraid of mixing her in with his crazy life. I knew there was nothing he wouldn’t do to get her safe!
Celine was a great character and I loved that she never gave up. I was shocked at who initially “rescued” her but also understood that everything was not as it appeared to be!
Towards the end I was completely shocked at the turn of events that I was not expecting and I was very happy that Aaron got there in time!
The end of the book was filled with action and I loved that everything was worked out!
Can’t wait for more in the series!
I received a free ARC from the author for an honest review.
Aaron is part of a Special Forces team and stationed in Afghanistan. Celine is there for a wedding of a Senator’s daughter, Carolyn. He had cared about her for over a year but his “job” didn’t leave much room for relationships. One night she basically threw herself at him, he couldn’t resist. They were caught in some heavy petting by his commanding officer and instead of facing it he pulled away and avoided her.
Carolyn and Celine are kidnapped and they know deep in their hearts who it is. Mr. J, an operative turned traitor. They have no idea why though, thinking it may be a case of revenge against the men. The women are held by a man for what they feel is several weeks, no food or water. One night he comes in and attempts to rape Celine. Between she and Carolyn, and a table he hit his head on, they manage to get away from him….right into the hands of Jack, whom they think is saving them.
Will Aaron and his team find Celine and Carolyn? Will he finally admit how he feels?
While I realize this is a novella and the story is mainly about Aaron and Celine finding love, I felt like it wasn’t quite complete. I don’t like to give spoiler’s so I can’t really say but anyone who has read it will understand.
I liked Aaron. He had seen a lot of cruel acts in the name of war but he was still a good man who cared and respected those close to him, he believed in family. Celine didn’t seem to have a good family life but she had a Salon she owned and worked hard. Aaron would teach her a family’s love.
I have read several books by this author and have really liked them. All in all, I really enjoyed this book!
I always enjoy military romance stories because I hold a very special place in my heart for our military families and the sacrifices they make so that we can live the lives we do in a free country. Aaron and Celine’s larger-than-life story is filled with very realistic details and the danger and malevolence was what kept me engrossed and quickly turning the pages. It was heart pounding action, especially at the critical point in the story where Celine is rescued and she shuts down mentally. Aaron carefully treats her gently both physically and mentally and only leaves her when her modesty keeps him out of the room. He instinctively knows the right things to say and do which made him a hero in my eyes so that’s why it was so puzzling to me when in other chapters he seems to act out of character and forgets his training. I do understand that an author sometimes has to bend the rules to tell their story, but it also bothered me that not long after Celine’s ordeal she’s suddenly so hot and bothered that she has what I would call raunchy sex with Aaron without batting an eye. Plot inaccuracies keep this from being the 5 star book I’m used to reading from this author. I read a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
Ravished River was originally released as Aaron’s Honor (Kindle Worlds). A story of emotional turmoil, mixed feelings and a burgeoning responsibility for another’s welfare, this story has it all. I really liked both characters and the storyline was well developed and kept me intrigued throughout the entire book. Naturally there was plenty of danger, action and romance too, but what else would you expect from a Lindsay Cross book. I always look forward to every new addition to this fabulous series.
This book starts off with Celine and Caroline in a cell after they were kidnapped at Caroline’s wedding. Aaron and his team as in the desert looking for both women. They are also looking for Mr. Just, the man responsible for killings and attempted killings of his team and their families. Aaron and his team find out where the women are being held and are hoping to get to then before they are moved. When they are able to find Celine and not Caroline, Aaron decides to stay with Celine while the rest look for Caroline and Mr. J. Celine and Aaron are perfect for each other. They have off the charts chemistry and such a strong connection. Aaron will do whatever it takes to keep Celine safe. There is action, misunderstandings, and two people who have had things happen in their past that shaped them into who they are today. This was a great storyline with great characters. These are all standalone, but I think you can have a better understanding and enjoyment of read in order.
This is an intense, gripping and thrilling story. Aaron is tough, determined and protective. Celine is brave, resilient and strong. After they end up in bed, Aaron turns his back on Celine, and she promptly gets kidnapped. Wild with rage and worry Aaron is determined to get her back, and never let her go again. Celine and Caroline are kept in a room with no windows and no food until they fight their way out, only to get “rescued” by the the man who had them kidnapped. There is a shocking twist in this book, one that could emotionally scar several people, and explain a lot. This was another great story in the series and I can’t wait to read the next one.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
A well-written story in the Men of Mercy this is Special Forces operative, Aaron Spears and Celine Latimer’s story. There is suspense, drama, danger, kidnapping, and romance. I want to read the next book in this series. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Aaron loves his crazy family, even his interfering Nonni. And he has burgeoning feelings for Celine but a lapse in his judgement left her feeling used and discarded and then she was kidnapped. Aaron feels responsible and is determined to find her. Wherever in the world she is.
Celine has been trying to keep Caroline’s spirits up but they manage to leap from one fire into another. Even once she is back in the safety of the USA the danger continues.
Aaron and Celine are another great match! I love the Men of Mercy series and the various offshoots. Celine may be all about the pretty things but she is no superficial, saccharine sweet ninny.
This is just awesome! Fast paced, action packed, thrilling, exciting, suspenseful , tons of chemistry, man this has everything! Alpha males and strong independent woman, these men of mercy military romance stories are just great and I would recommend them to any romance fan!
**I received a copy of Ravished River from the author in exchange for an honest review** If you’ve read Aaron’s Honor from the Kindle World this is a expanded story of Aaron and Celine.
Aaron Spears regrets saying turning away Celine Latimer when she took a chance and told him she was attracted to him. Now he’s in Afghanistan with Task Force Scorpion on a mission to rescue both Caroline Cotter and Celine who were kidnapped at Caroline’s wedding. But first they have to find them, but Mr. J their former CIA operative has made things worse by turning traitor and siding with ISA. A colleague gives them a lead on where the girls might be, Aaron quickly joins Task Force-Scorpions to rescue them.
Celine is being held hostage with Caroline and for two weeks they have been starved and beaten. Once Aaron and his team have rescued them, she is returned back to the US with Aaron as her protector. There is still something off with both Mr. J and Caroline still missing. It will take everything Celine and Aaron have to keep her safe because there are double agents everywhere.
I really liked Ravished River and it a very addi
Aaron’s story takes place immediately after Rebellious River and I highly recommend reading that first or you will be confused. Aaron Speirs and the rest of the team have been searching for hairstylist Celine Latimer and Caroline Cotter since they were kidnapped prior to Caroline’s wedding. Aaron has desires and demons. He desires Celine but his demons had kept him from pursuing a relationship with her. Now he regrets the choices that he made and is determined to rescue Celine and right his wrongs. Celine is a tough lady. She has been through a lot but she’s in deep trouble now and needs someone to come to her aid. I am a fan of the Men of Mercy books so I was excited to read Aaron’s story. I can’t say much without giving it away but I was not disappointed! It’s told from dual POV and it’s loaded with action, angst, intrigue and heat too! 4* for this one.
Ravished River was originally published as Aaron’s Honor by Lindsay Cross…wow…it starts on a roll and never let’s up . If you like strong alpha military men and the independent women they rescue and love this is the book for you. Lindsay Cross never disappoints and you will read this in one sitting not being able to put this book down.
The characters are familiar because they are part of the Men of Mercy series but you do not have to read any of the other books to enjoy this on. This is Aaron and Celine’s story. It starts with Celine being kidnapped and Aaron feeling guilty because she is a civilian that he brought into a military operation. The attraction he has for her makes him feel worse and as he gets closer and closer to her he knows he will not be able to let her go once the Men who kidnapped her are caught.
The books really takes place after Celine is rescued and brought back to the US to recuperate. Needless to say the twists and turns of the story will keep you on edge and keep you guessing. Once again Lindsay Cross has created characters that I care about and want to see have their HEA ending they deserve. You will absolutely be enticed by this book. I recommend it
This is Aaron’s story. Celine and Caroline have been kidnapped and have been captured for over two weeks. Aaron and his team have been looking everywhere for them. He will never forgive himself if anything should happen to Celine. Loved this addition to the Men of Mercy series. I read this book as part of the anthology, Love Under Siege and every book in this collection was brilliant.
Since recently having finally read one of this author’s books had to try another. Bonus for me it was a special ops too with mixing it with relationships you have one explosive read. This one has Aaron and Celine taking you on this ride with each their own agenda. As this one begins to pick up a little speed it takes a very unexpected turn putting us upside down almost with anticipation. Danger and drama are just small amount of what it begins to contain. A different agenda and a different road with us hanging on tight. I know I should of read others from this but I still enjoyed this one.
Ravished River by Lindsay Cross is a great read. It is Book 6 in the Men of Mercy series. This is the story of Aaron and Celine. She was hired to work with the group to help with the wedding of the head of JSOC’s daughter. Aaron is a First Sergeant/Medical Sergeant (recruited from Delta Force) in Task Force Scorpion (TF-S). He is tasked to train Celine for the mission they will be going on. When they first meet both feel an immediate connection with each other but they try to hide it and ignore it. They have one night together before the wedding. The bride (Caroline) and Celine are kidnapped from the wedding. Will outside forces come between them and end their budding relationship? Will Aaron forgive himself and get over his past issues and let their relationship blossom? Will they get their HEA? To get the answers you will need to read the book. There is action and suspense, highs and lows, twists and turns. I definitely recommend this book. I can’t wait to read the next book from Lindsay Cross.
