Sequel to WolfsongGordo Livingstone never forgot the lessons carved into his skin. Hardened by the betrayal of a pack who left him behind, he sought solace in the garage in his tiny mountain town, vowing never again to involve himself in the affairs of wolves. It should have been enough. And it was, until the wolves came back, and with them, Mark Bennett. In the end, they faced the beast together … faced the beast together as a pack… and won.
Now, a year later, Gordo has found himself once again the witch of the Bennett pack. Green Creek has settled after the death of Richard Collins, and Gordo constantly struggles to ignore Mark and the song that howls between them.
But time is running out. Something is coming. And this time, it’s crawling from within.
Some bonds, no matter how strong, were made to be broken.

Audio Book Review
…
“I’m not scared of much. But I think I’m scared of this. What it could mean. What I could become. Who I could forget.”
Before diving into this one I felt the need to re-read Wolfsong. I loved that one just as much as I did the first time, but then I got afraid no one can compete with Ox and Joe.
Well now let me tell you how hard I fell for Gordo and Mark.
To be honest, I think there’s no need to re-read Wolfson before this one because Ravensong takes you back to the action from the first book. You actually get to revisit the characters and many scenes from Gordo’s POV.
This book was as good as Wolfsong! Gordo has so many years of sorrow and loneliness behind him. He was once Bennett’s witch, but he was left behind so many years ago and chose to cut all ties to his pack…Now after all those years, Mark and Gordo still have so many unsolved issues. My heart ached for both of them!!
The narration kept me on the edge of my seat most of the time. There are many descriptions and also flashbacks from their past, even with Gordo’s parents…The book is full of suspense, magic and curses, hunters and SO many unexpected scenes!
This story isn’t only about Gordo and Mark. We also get many scenes with Ox and Joe, Robbie and Kelly, Carter, Elizabeth, Rico, Jessie. Oh how much I laughed! The banter between Rico and the other humans in the pack, between Carter, Kelly, and Gordo was priceless!!!
I don’t want to give too much away, so I will only mention the amazing writing and the great story building…Now I just can’t wait to read Robbie and Kelly’s story, but also Carter’s story!! I know I’ll have to wait, but the surprises we get at the end of this book just made me want to read the next book like yesterday!
I absolutely loved the audio!!!
Kurt Graves did a wonderful job here! I am in awe of his voice and the way he was able to keep me glued to the story!
I highly recommend!
Wolfsong was probably one of the best werewolf books I have ever read so obviously I wanted nothing more than to dive into Ravensong but I was so scared to be let down by it. Luckily for me that was not the case, Ravensong was every bit as wonderful as Wolfsong.
Ravensong brings all things Mark and Gordo as well as all your favorites from book one and yes, even more Ox and Joe!! This story was written very much like book one in the sense that it does jump around so you get to learn all about Gordo’s and Mark’s past. You will learn why Gordo felt so betrayed, why he was so heartbroken and why he couldn’t seem to let go of the past mistakes that were made on both his and Mark’s part.
As the story unfolds you will be reminded how much you loved the Bennett’s and just how far they will go to protect their own. There is so much more I could say about this story but I don’t want to give anything away because I went into this story just by reading the blurb and it was so much more than I could have ever thought possible. I really hope book three is every bit as delicious as books one and two.
My favourite book in the series
We must protect Gordo Livingstone at all costs.
Ravensong continues the plot from Wolfsong, and it’s a lot more action packed than Wolfsong in my opinion. This keeps you on your toes the entire time, and it’s almost impossible to put it down. I won’t say anything else as everything is pretty much a spoiler.
This book follows Gordo and Mark, who we met in Wolfsong and even back then we knew their story would be intense. MY HEART ACHES FOR GORDO WHAT THE FUCK. The romance between Mark and Gordo is definitely secondary to the story, but I think that’s why I loved it so much.
The fact that both these characters have been separated for years and have a lot of resentment and anger between them brought so much angst to the story. But I loved every page of it. I really felt Gordo’s hurt and betrayal through every page and I fell in love with this morally gray character. Mark also had his fair share of anger and bitterness, but it wasn’t as prevalent because this story was told strictly through Gordo’s POV.
The secondary characters were just as amazing as the main ones. The human pack brought the comedic relief throughout the story. Jessie is my new favorite, she’s a badass. Rico meets his match in a new character, and we see a lot from Carter and Kelly which made me excited for their books. I am so invested in this pack, human and wolf, I can’t wait to read everything that’s to come. I’m so excited for Lovesong next month! I need to learn more about Elizabeth.
Family continues to be a huge part of the story and the sense of pack is always present here. I love when a story focuses on family and friendships just as much as a romance, so this really was perfect for me.
I’ve read most of Klune’s books, and this one is up there as one of my favorites.
Well Gordo and Mark totally stole my heart. Their story was filled with so much heartache, but in the end they got the HEA they both deserved. So, this picks up with part of the pack is getting ready to hunt Richard Collins, so we get to see what it was like when they were on the hunt. It was nice to be able to see that. Also, we got all the background of Mark and Gordo and it was everything. Once the pack is reunited, it is still not easy, and it just gets worse and worse. Then finally it gets better. I cannot wait to read Kelly and then Carter’s story! This is an amazing series. Kirk Graves is phenomenal on the narration.
Ravensong enchanted me. It was the sequel to Wolfsong, and the next installment in the Green Creek Pack saga, but it was also so much more than just that. It was the exploration of choices and hard truths, of love and sacrifice, and hope. It was beautiful, enthralling, and left me shattered yet whole.
This book continues where Wolfsong left off, but also goes back and fills in a lot of details that were missing. We learn about Gordo’s past, his travels with Joe, Kelly, and Carter, and his love for Mark. The set up for the next book is also clear, but not in a way that feels cliched. Nothing about any of these books felt cliched.
Like all of T.J. Klune’s books, the plot and characterization is complex with both breadth and depth. There’s humor, angst, love, hot sex, and action. The book is extremely well written and Kirt Graves does a wonderful job with the audiobook.
Book 2 – must read Wolfsong first
Gordo and Mark’s story packs quite the punch to the heart. Along the lines of Wolfsong this is a subtly complex, slow burn story of love, betrayal, family and fated mates.
As with book one I cried my eyes out and I also laughed so hard I woke my hubs. This author has a talent for dialogue that is extraordinary.
This series of books are some of the very best I’ve ever read and I cannot wait for more from these werewolves. I will be VERY sad when this series ends.
#packpackpack
This was a book about a witch named Gordo and his true love, a werewolf named Mark Bennett, it’s better that you read the first book of this saga before.
Gordo lost his parents when he was very young and he got closer to Mark’s family, his pack, since he was destined to be their Witch, until they left him behind, breaking his heart:(
Years later he can’t forget or forgive Mark because he left him for his family and when they return Gordo isn’t willing to risk it all again for Mark, until his new pack is in danger and he could lose it all.
A very engaging story with twists and turns that I was not expecting.
I love TJ Klune’s Green Creek series and though I doubt anything will come close to the perfection of Wolfsong, I deeply enjoyed Mark and Gordo’s love story!
TJ Klune just continues to amaze me! In Ravensong, I fell truly, madly, and deeply in love with Gordo. His character was so complex and strong. Though he may be prickly and bitter, he’s worth digging deep to find just how wonderful he is. I loved this book and the continuation of this series. I cannot wait for more!! Five GORDO IS MY GROUCHY WITCH Stars!!
An audio review…
It’s my fault. See, I read Wolfsong but I listened to Ravensong. I’m not saying that Ravensong was bad it’s just that I didn’t feel as sucked in as I was with Wolfsong. At first, this was because I was struggling to keep pace with the pack. There’s time-jumping, trying to remember who was who and what was what. Then, once I gained my bearings, I was a bit discombobulated that a character I loved in Wolfsong made me want to scream in Ravensong. I was enjoying the journey but my thread joining me to my pack seemed to have severed.
Don’t get me wrong, T.J. Klune is still an AWESOME writer, I just think I made a mistake by listening to this one. In the beginning, I was struggling with all the then and now’s. There were also quite a few male characters in this one so at times it was hard to tell when the characters changed.
You have to concentrate with audios, especially when you are at the beginning. Characters need to be introduced, storylines need to be established and you have to work out what sort of intensity needs to be adhered to. Do you need to listen to every word of every sentence or you’ll miss something important? Or is it the kind of story where you can faze out for a while and still get the gist of what is going on? Ravensong definitely needed all of my concentration.
I was thoroughly entertained by the fast-paced, funny and emotional story, that pulled on my heartstrings. Again, I felt a connection to the characters that made me feel the heartbreak and pain when loved ones are lost. The most pain though was listening to Gordo struggle with his feelings of abandonment and betrayal. It seemed that his magic was more like a burden and an obligation than being part of the pack. I completely understood his distrust when the Bennett’s return. I wanted him to hurt them as much as what he was hurt. I feel like I needed to see more of the love…pack…more that shows their connection.
It’s a bloody long listen but would have been even longer if I hadn’t done some sneaky listening in my spare time. Would you believe it…THIS BOOK MADE ME CRY ON MY BIRTHDAY?!?! Of course, it was on the train AGAIN! So besides the facts that I had to work on my birthday, I also arrived with puffy eyes and the sniffles.
I really enjoyed Ravensong but I think I would have been better off reading it. I could have kept my own pace, settled into getting to know or re-know the characters, and may have absorbed the time-jumps better. The narrator’s voice was easy to listen to and understand, I just struggled a little with the number of male voices he had to do.
I can’t wait for more in this series and with that little tidbit at the end, I think things are going to get worse before they get better.
I love the woofs and the huffs.
The growls and the howls.
The puffs of air blown down necks.
The gentle caresses.
I love the whimpers and the whines.
The witches and the wolves.
I’ve waxed and I’ve waned between a four and a five. Four because the humour spoiled a scene for me, five because everything else was perfect.
Gordo Livingstone loves Mark Bennett like the sun loves the moon. Wolf given. Wolf given back.
Ravensong is the story of their love, their struggles and the fight by Ox and Joe against evil.
So beautifully written.
“Such is the way with wolves. We sing and sing and sing until someone hears our song.”
“Your pack will howl you home. All you need to do is listen for their song.”
“We are packpackpack and you are BrotherFriendLoveMate you are witch you are life you are love and we will protect you.”
I love the dirt and the leaves and the rain.
Packpackpack.
TJ Klune can so no wrong. If witches and werewolves are your jam, read this book.

Sarah –
Once again, I found myself completely and totally immersed in the story of the Green Creek wolves and their allies. There is something almost mesmerising about the writing in these stories. The prose is beautiful, the characters are wonderful, and at times I swear I could actually feel the magic that binds the Bennett pack together.
This second book belongs to Gordo, the pack witch, and Mark, Joe’s uncle. If Wolfsong tells the story of two boys growing into their adult selves, Ravensong tells the story of two men who have to come to terms with the events and people who shaped their younger selves. There is a long and complicated history between Mark and Gordo and an even uglier history between their families.
The plot is intricate and complicated. I found the first part slow, retelling Joe’s three-year absence from Gordo’s perspective as he accompanies Joe and his brothers on their quest. But once Gordo returns home, the story speeds up to an almost frantic pace. This story is full of action and at times the suspense is almost unbearable.
I loved seeing the Wolfsong characters from a new perspective. I understood the human pack members much better after reading this and I loved the insights into the pack’s history and Gordo’s personal past. I think it is the characters and the relationships between characters that make this series so special. Like Ox, Gordo is not a Bennett and I love the way he scrutinises the pack and pack relationships from his position on the periphery of the pack.

This was an amazing addition to the Green Creek series. This book is written similar to the first one in terms of style, and while it matched perfectly for Ox in book one, it also somehow matches perfectly for Gordo in this book.
This book was definitely angsty. I wanted to plummet Gordo a few times because he just would not give in to his feelings for Mark! The whole plot of these two books is incredible and you can tell there is so much more to come. This book was emotional and funny at times. There was great banter between the characters. The entire pack is great to read about and the relationship and connection between everyone is entertaining and also just sweet.
I NEED the next books already! I cannot wait to get Robbie and Kelly’s book and I cannot wait to find out more about Carter and his wolf! These books are beautifully well-written and poetic in style. Even with only one MC POV, the author gives us everything we need. Read these books!
