“I can give you everything,” he whispered, smiling through the lie. All I had to do was kneel…The Caledonian forces come armed, yet offer peace. Spouting claims that they can deliver a new era—one of luxury and ease—they think to seduce. They promise our countries will thrive together, that they will save us from ourselves in exchange for Tritan’s secrets, our expertise in the mystical arts of … Tritan’s secrets, our expertise in the mystical arts of wielding ki. Partner with warmongers unaccustomed to being refused, or fall beneath their boots.
These conquerors fool no one.
They seek to leash my people and claim our priestesses for their own sick uses.
But I will not kneel.
Especially not to him.
Captain Asher Rawlings.
Powerful… Elite… Relentless… He’s been tasked to hunt me down and dress me in chains—a mission he relishes, for with one taste of my lips, he hungers for my submission above all else…
In an instant, the deadly secret I’ve been keeping for years is exposed to his attention. He knows what I am, what I might be capable of, and he’s drawn to my fire… my ki…
With a kiss, he feeds me whispers of a coddled life kneeling at his precious feet, his offer nothing more than the life of a cherished pet.
But he won’t have me or my ki, for his betrayal has given me strength even he didn’t expect.
Only one thing is certain—he’ll either put me on my knees, or I’ll kill them all.

Absolutely love the world Myra Danvers is spinning in this epic start to an incredible personal journey…with some steamy romance along the way! Highly recommend adding this to your “Must Read” list!
It’s a class on its own, it’s characters take over ur life it pulls u in and it tantalises u. One of the best books thrre is to read cant wait for book 2
A debut novel? Couldn’t be. Certainly this is the creation of a seasoned story teller who has honed her skills; able to weave a tale of romance, intrigue and mysticism as if it dripped from her fingertips to the keyboard. From it’s opening lines I was transported into Mila’s world; Tritan, walking along side her in the market, seeing everything she saw, feeling everything she felt. I worried for her, was afraid for her, smiled for her, congratulated her and by the end of the book, I would follow her anywhere. The characters—well I dare not give away too much, but you will love them and hate them and be careful who you invest in because not all of them will see Mila through this adventure. I admit that aside from the wonderful Mila, I found Josh an interesting self proclaimed hero who made me laugh at his macho man “I’m gonna save the princess” attitude. Good on ya, Josh. Although this story takes place in a fantasy world, there is enough of familiar human nature, both good and bad, in it to keep us grounded in our own values while sending us flying into a new and exciting world. Exciting action, forbidden love, betrayal, mysticism, lust, honour, greed, life force…. this book has it all and I can not wait for Book Two of the series. Well done
Okay, I have a lot of feelings about this book. The first half of this review will only apply to those who have read The Last Tritan before its book adaptation. So let’s jump into those feelings first.
I’ve been a huge fan of TLT since the beginning. I’ve actually been following the story since chapter one was posted on Lit. It quickly became my favorite story. Even though there were some little plot holes and minor flaws, when TLT was finished in its original form I felt the story was absolutely perfect.
Since the story was pulled many moons ago and Myra has been working on turning it into a book I’ve been impatiently waiting to read it again. I was excited, but also nervous to give this a read. I loved the original story so much I was afraid I would hate it if too many changes had been made. I’ll be honest, the first few chapters were so different that I could feel a bitterness growing inside me as I read it. I was struggling with the changes from the original TLT story. I knew I was going to finish this book even if I hated it so I trooped on. Momma didn’t raise a quitter.
As I continued to read I forced myself to have an open mind and give the book a fair chance without comparing it the whole way. Once I did that I started to see how this back story was going to be weaved into (or so I’m assuming) the storyline I already know. Of course I’m expecting changes as the books go on but I can still see the TLT I knew and loved.
Now for my opinion on the actual book without comparing this version to the other. The book was great. I enjoyed more backstory to the characters and to the fall of Tritan. It makes it all the more heartbreaking when you get a little attached to the city only to watch it fall.
I saw someone give this book a poor review because they felt the development of Mila’s character was sloppy. Trust me, my friend. That’s our beloved, Mila. She’s a wild little thing and this isn’t your typical good versus evil storyline.
I definitely recommend everyone give this book a read. Myra is a great writer and I’m anxious to read the next book and see where this story goes.

Honestly this is different and it does end with a cliff. but i highly reccomend. This is this authors debut novel and its super good. This world the author created leaves alot to the imagination. if your looking for hearts and flowers and happy endings look elsewhere. but if your in for the start of great adventure this is it for you
I cannot get enough of this book or the author, to be honest. When is the next book out? I neeeed it! Seriously, seriously well written. It has an incredible world setting, addictive and interesting characters, undeniably hot scenes and is so fun. I guarantee you won’t put this down for even a second. Prepare accordingly.
WARNING: This book is REALLY hard to put down once picked up!!! Mounting sexual tension, gripping original story-line, beautiful and vivid imagery, and compelling characters … I accidentally read the entire thing in one sitting and now I am sitting here as I write this hungry for the next book. xD
I had been waiting to read this book since I read the original story online a long time ago, before Myra Danvers decided to take it offline and edit it for publishing. Things have changed since then – and by changed, I mean become MORE epic than they already were. The characters are more fleshed out, the writing is more solid and crisp, and the tension between Captain Rawlings and Mila really grips you from the very first chapter! It’s so easy to put yourself in their shoes and really feel the electric emotional tension sparking in every scene. I need more!
If you pick this book up, you will not want to put it down. It will stay with you all day and night until you finish it … and even after, because you know this is only part 1! I’m RAVENOUS for the next book in the series! XD
Oh my god, that took forever to review…lets keep it short and sweet. It was great! Such a build up to the next book – thanks for the cliff hanger Ms Danvers – lucky i loved and i dont mind waiting for it.
The power struggles, the sexy elusive bad boy, the not so damsel in distress heroine.
The setting, the in-depth character development. It was very well written 🙂
10/10 loved it Myra Danvers
Incredible debut story! I was turned on to this author as a recommendation and what a recommendation it was! Solid character development, interesting world building and steaming hot interactions. Can’t wait to see what else this author comes out with.
I recieved this as an ARC copy. I was first introduced to this when it was titled the Last Tritan and loved reading it. I was not disappointed.
Highly recommended to me by almost a dozen of my friends, this new to me author really intrigued me with this story. Completely different from anything I expected or have read before, this is one of the more captivating stories I have read. Greatly looking forward to more from this author, well written!
Myra has created an interesting and unique universe, beginning what is sure to be a thrilling series. The heroine, Mila, is fierce and strong-willed and the hero (or anti-hero), Asher, is an interesting character that I’m looking forward to getting to know better in future installments. I’m not quite sure who can be trusted at this point, and that adds to the mystery and suspense of the plot.
There are elements of sci-fi and plenty of action that will leave you hanging on the edge of your seat. The first book is a long-awaited release for this author and builds up the world very well. It leaves you wanting to know more about the histories of the characters and what’s to come.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable read that left me in anticipation of the next release – an excellent debut novel for Myra Danvers!
What an amazing first book in a series!!! The world the author creates is fascinating!! This story is fast paced, action packed, emotional and sexy. It has magic, violence, steamy scenes and loss. All of that in the first book in a series. All the characters are multi dimensional. You are not sure if the good guys are really good and if the bad guys are all bad. I couldn’t put this book down and I cant wait for the next one.
I couldn’t put the book down. I wanted to take my sweet time but I just had to know what happens so I kept turning the pages til boom, last page. I could see character growth, especially for the main character and Im looking forward to how she will handle the changes. I hope book 2 will come soon!
This is Myra Danvers debut novel. This author was recommended to me by several authors whose dark books I adore, but it is always a gamble to read a new author. But I am happy to say that I enjoyed this book a lot.
The story wasn’t what I expected and that is not a bad thing, but it did mean I had to think a bit before I wrote my review. If you are looking for a romance story with a dash of sci-fi, then think again. You are not getting a lot of romance, at least not in this first book.
Myra Danvers created this whole new and interesting world. There isn’t a lot of background of the world, so a lot is left to the imagination of the reader and it took me little while to figure v=certain things out.
Mila is an interesting and complex character. Her whole world is changed in one day and she will never be the same. The interesting thing for me was while she is not giving up and doesn’t want to be a slave to Asher, in a way she is a slave to her powers which she can’t control.
I look forward to reading the next book.
I loved this book, it’s the first piece I’ve ever read by Myra Danvers and it definitely won’t be the last, can’t wait for the next instalment!
Captivating, well written story. Loved every second of it. I could not stop reading it. Myra has created an amazing world and I cannot wait for the next book.
Well, wow. I really wasn’t expecting that!
A couple of dark authors I adore were raving about this book, so based on their recommendation I gladly jumped into reading this. I’ll put my hands up and admit that I hadn’t even really read the blurb, so I really was taking a chance on this. Thankfully it was a chance that more than paid off, even though this wasn’t the dark read I’d assumed it would be. All I can say is that Ravenous Innocence had me totally and utterly captivated, leaving me in desperate need for the release of the next book. In fact it is so good I read it in one sitting!
There is a lot of world building in the first half of the book, so whilst the plot perhaps didn’t make massive progress, I was so immersed into this new world that it didn’t matter. This is a fantasy/alternate universe tale of betrayal and treachery, underpinned by the use of a type of life magic called ‘ki’. There were hints of a possible future romance, or even dark romance given that the heroine and hero are alternate sides of two warring nations.
The book is written entirely from Mila, the heroine’s, point of view. She is a complex, flawed and sometimes naive character, which fitted well with her life thus far. It took me a while to get into her as a character, but this was mainly due to learning about this new world and where Mila fitted into it. Asher is still pretty much an enigma, I love how we don’t know just where he falls on the good guy/bad guy spectrum – is he a good guy in a bad situation, a bad guy trying to do some good, or just a nasty antihero? Whatever the truth is, Mila’s interactions with Asher were most intriguing, and clearly there are more battles and hot times to be had with this pair.
When is book 2 out please?
as lucky enough to receive and ARC from the author. And WOW. I DEVOURED this book. It was so amazing. The thought of waiting a few months for the second book seems like an eternity because this was so good. This was originally a story online that Danvers adopted this from. There are a lot of changes, but I’m not complaining at all. The story flows so well and our heroine is very complex which I enjoy. I wish I had my hands on the entire finished work so that I could keep on reading until I finished. I see this as a book I would reread multiple times (that’s how much I enjoyed it). She did an excellent job of creating an entirely new world that was a bit confusing to understand at first, but by the end I felt like I had a good understanding of it. 10/10 would recommend if you like adventure, sci/fi, and some potential romance in there ;).
I received an advance copy of Ravenous Innocence (awesome title – that means a lot once you read this book… which you totally should) for free in exchange for my review. I ended up not being able to put the book down and stayed up WAY past my bedtime. I highly recommend this book if you like adventure, fantasy and a little dark romance. I can’t wait for the next book in the series… this is a book you can really sink your teeth into (har har har… you’ll get it if you read the book).
