I am bound to the dark… and the dark is bound to me.No one can know what I am. But this secret I carry, it isn’t an easy one to hide. It burns within me. It changes me each and every day, making the line between me and the ghosts I love smaller and smaller.Yet no secret can remain hidden forever. The day my brother dies changes everything. I’m commanded to attend the Royal Fae Academy, a place … Royal Fae Academy, a place that wouldn’t welcome someone like me. But as much as I fear what will happen next, I have to find my brother’s killer. No matter the cost.
Danger haunts my every step. Someone here wants me dead. And my brother’s three best friends are determined to protect me from my enemies. Only, they have no idea what I am. Or what I’m capable of doing.
And even though I care for them, and I feel they care for me, I have to keep them away.
Because the dark is where I belong. But these men? They belong in the light.
Even if they don’t know it yet.

First book in a new Paranormal series and I could not put it down! We follow Esmeray and her mates on a journey of finding out what happened to her brother and why. Lots of action and steaminess! Esmeray grew up hidden away because she was more dark then light and this was considered bad but it does not deter her from finding out what she needs. Very well written and great new series!! I cannot wait to find out what happens next!
So if you read the prequel, Revere then you know about Esmeray. She has been tasked with taking her brothers spot at the academy. But things cannot be easy for her. She is there to find out what happened to her brother and who killed him. She is there for revenge not to find mates. Who also just so happen to be her brothers best friends. There is a lot going on but Esmeray is determined to get to the bottom of things.
I really enjoy this authors writing style. I kinda do not agree with Esmeray some on pushing her mates away somewhat. But I understand that she is a strong character that is on a mission. Plus not knowing who to trust. So overall I would definitely give this series a try. I cannot wait to see what happens next for Esmeray and her mates.
Love it! Plot line is great, the characters are awesome and the heat levels are HOT! Looking forward to the next book!
I have found a new favorite author and series. I can not get enough! I want to know what happens so bad… this series grips you and doesnt let go! Esmeray is a refreshing character. I cant wait until she finds out more. Will she find out what happened to her brother?
Wow! An intense paranormal story with some darkness as death seams to be always around the corner. Esmeray wants revenge for her brother’s death. She is willing to face danger and the unknown to find out the truth. The three males she thought she could trust now pull her in all directions. Who is lying and what is being hidden? Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
This start is quite the start here! I like what Lacey does here. It’s unique and gets you right in the story. Esmeray is a strong caracter and she needs to hide what she is really. Except she doesn’t do a good job. There are protective guys who were her brothers best friends. They know she is their mate but no one else does. Esmeray now attents the royal fae academy. Great thing is this book keeps you interested in what happens and excited for the next.
It’s got me hooked…
After the prequel to this series, I can honestly say, that I am now officially hooked. This has action, mystery and I just want to know more!
We are definitely left on a cliff, holding our breath to know who the heck is down in the dark under that school.
I want to know why light fae, who always seems so bloody perfect, can act so mean. Give me more – pretty please?
4.5 stars
We get so much more with this book than we did with the prequel and it picks up where that one left us. Such wonderful characters but I’m especially fond of Esmeray. A very angsty, mysterious story that was impossible to put down. Looking forward to more.
Completely full of secrets
Wow, what a book, I loved how this book just kept me hooked from the beginning with all of the secrets and mysteries. Really enjoyed how Esmeray is a really strong FMC and im looking forward to read the next book Read full review
Ravage is the beginning of a new paranormal romance series by Lacey Carter Andersen. This book takes readers on a fast-paced and steamy ride as we follow along with Esmeray and her three mates as she begins the process of learning what truly happened to her brother and why.
Now, I am a huge fan of Lacey Carter Andersen’s books so I was thrilled to grab this book and dive in. I love the darker elements of this book with the ghosts, monsters, and spooky qualities. The author is quick to pull me into the story and has me eagerly page-turning to learn what happens next. The author is quick to hint at a potential steamy situation between Esmeray and Bron in the beginning of the book, but things are pretty much put on hold as there is a sense of urgency at hand. I wanted to like Esmeray as she is the main character of this book, but I can’t help but grow to dislike her…alot.
Esmeray’s parentage is mixed, and she leans toward the darker side, but she’s to keep it hidden. Except…she doesn’t. I can’t help but question…why? She knows the risks, she knows the consequences, but she honestly acts as she could seriously care less. It’s irritating. She’s sent to the Academy to take her brother’s place. She knows that she is expected to BLEND in, to at least try to act and look like a light fae, but instead she stomps around like a thunder cloud with a chip on her shoulder the size of a boulder. She’s there to find answers…how does she think she’ll achieve anything practically trying to get herself discovered and kicked out? I get some of her attitude towards the guys, but she’s not really trying to “hide” what she really is.
The storyline itself is honestly the saving grace of this storyline for me. I’m fully engaged and eager to learn what happens next because there is some serious mystery going on here. What happened to her brother? What did he find? There are a couple of steamy scenes in this book as well, that is pretty good. There is a serious cliffhanger in this book as well. I was so eager to turn the page that I practically ran into it face first. LOL! I’m practically chomping at the bit to learn more about this new mysterious character.
I’m rating this book…4 out of 5 stars. I LOVE the storyline itself but Esmeray being literally hellbent on being discovered as a dark fae and being a brat to basically everyone around her…that just takes away from the story for me especially since she’s the main character. For me, it just begs the question…does she really want answers? Or does she just want to ruin everyone’s life who is connected to her? I’m hopeful that she gets her head out of her butt in the next book and chills out so that she can find the answers she’s looking for.
She needs to hide what she is from everyone but now she is being told to go to the court. Will they find out what she is? What about her powers? His friends will protect her from danger. What danger will she face? Will they keep her safe? Will they find her brother? See if she can
What can I say about this book?? It was so intriguing! I loved how she is building this world. The way the light and dark fae interact is so awesome. There is such a big mystery here. I can’t wait to see what types of plot twists she continues to throw in and where this story goes. If you like twisty plots and fae storylines you will certainly love this one.
I really enjoyed reading this great mysterious, action packed story full of great characters. I didn’t want to put it down.
I received a review copy of this book and I am voluntarily giving an honest review
So I read the prequel first which was awesome and a great start So looked forward to reading Ravage and it was every bit as awesome as I hoped it would be! A well written steamy reverse harem romance that has some pretty hot scenes, mystery, intrigue, action, drama, betrayal and a strong kick ass heroine to lead the way! With a whole host of supernatural beings , our characters are intriguing and I look forward to reading what comes next!
Esmeray has embraced her darkness a long time ago. Being the dark fae among light fae, she was always the outcast, talking to ghosts and monsters, and feeding off negative emotions. She never expected to be the next heir to her family, the shining role model of a light fae from powerful house.
That was the fate of her brother Rayne. One of the very few people she ever loved.
Now, Rayne is dead, and Esmeray has to step up to take his place, starting from joining the Royal Fae Academy. However, there are dark secrets lurking in the shadows at the academy, and Esmeray is determined to find out what they are and who murdered her brother, using all the weapons at her fingertips – including her seduction.
A gripping tale of light and darkness, accepting both positive and negative emotions, and the power behind them to drive one into action. Despite all odds Esmeray does not give up, and even though sometimes her darkness overrules the logical choices, she won’t stand up until she reaches her goal. Moreover, the complicated relationships between her and Rayne’s friends escalate the tension and bring up interesting, tensed, awkward, and hot situations. The steamy scenes heat the story, jumping from zero to hundred within a few pages, and I had my eyes glued to the story until the last sentence. Now I am hooked for the next one.
This book was less steam and focused more on the mystery and development which I appreciated. I liked that we got to explore the academy and tunnels and learned more about Esmeray, Bron, Dwade, and Lucian. I was really upset that Rayne died so early and that we barely got to meet him- I really thought he would be my favorite character in the series, but I might have a new favorite from the cliffhanger.
Esmeray has a fearless, reckless, and determined personality that gets her into dangerous situations. She can’t trust anyone at the academy, even her brother’s best friends. I liked the connection that she has with Lucian the best out of the three guys. Abigail was probably my favorite side character in the story and I also liked Mary Ann. I intrigued to see what happens next at the academy and learn more about the history of light and dark fae in this world.

Great new series. I have read the prequel and this one. I enjoyed this series within two days. Highly recommend
Holy smokes this story is magnificent. It has so much mystery and suspense. It leads you on a path and you are not sure where it is going to end. It is so stunningly written that you feel yourself drawn into the story as if you are part of it. This characters are a collection of fantastic mystical creatures. Their personalities are felt throughout the story and the descriptions are radiant. This story has some sexy moments and they are beautifully developed. This is a must read and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I don’t normally give cliffhangers a 5 star review but this book is so well written with such an intriguing plot and interesting characters that it well deserves the highest rating. This author certainly knows how to weave a story. Full of intrigue, action, mystery, drama, and romance that evolves from secrets, beliefs, emotions, lies, and actions that create many twists and turns. Love the strong kick-ass female character. This book is part of a series involving the light and dark fae along with some other supernatural beings. It is not a stand alone as it does end in a cliffhanger. There is a prequel titled Revere that I suggest you read first – a great introduction to the story and characters.
There is being a badass and just being a bad character, and in Ravage, Esmeray is often a poorly written character who has crossed that fine line.
Revere introduces us to Esmeray and her mates: Bron Drake, Lucian Silver, and Dwade Luther…
–Dwade is still a nonsense name in my book and far from sexy. Should we Dwade into the swamp? Dwading in lakes is far better. See, that is what comes to mind when I hear Dwade. /tangent–
…And we learn about the sexy, no-no-relationship situation the three men are keeping from Rayne and Esmeray; no one knows that Esmeray is their mate. But now Rayne has been murdered, and Esmeray is at the Royal Fae Academy, and keeping the sexy Dark Fae from doing what comes naturally to her without spilling their guts is proving impossible to Bron, Lucian, and Dwade.
Okay, I wouldn’t say I like this book, half the plot goes awry early on. Ravage’s relationship drama is all dumb. It’s so contrived and frustrating; I wanted to eat my Kindle. I loved the guys, but I loathe Esmeray, she’s unlikeable much of the time with her tantrums and fits, I had a hard time understanding what, other than a biological urge, the mates saw in her.
And this really bummed me out because I had high hopes having read Revere. I expected a steamy romp in Paranormal Romanceville, where I would get more Bron–who I am book boyfriending, and advancement in the mystery of Rayne. What happened? Ravage was okay but not at the same level as Revere.
Shame on everything. I am saddened, get me chocolate.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.
