Thanksgiving has a way of thawing the frostiest hearts in Lake Eden. But that won’t be happening for newlywed Hannah Swensen Barton—not after her husband suddenly disappears . . . Hannah has felt as bitter as November in Minnesota since Ross vanished without a trace and left their marriage in limbo. Still, she throws herself into a baking frenzy for the sake of pumpkin pie and … Thanksgiving-themed treats while endless holiday orders pour into The Cookie Jar. Hannah even introduces a raspberry Danish pastry to the menu, and P.K., her husband’s assistant at KCOW-TV, will be one of the first to sample it. But instead of taking a bite, P.K., who is driving Ross’s car and using his desk at work, is murdered. Was someone plotting against P.K. all along or did Ross dodge a deadly dose of sweet revenge? Hannah will have to quickly sift through a cornucopia of clues and suspects to stop a killer from bringing another murder to the table.

Left us on a real cliffhanger.
I really enjoyed this book. I recommend all of her books to friends and family. My sister and I read all of her books as soon as they are available.
Raspberry Danish Murder is original, easy-to-read , entertaining has wonderful characters and it is also a page-turner with witty dialogue among its wonderful characters and the ending was unpredictable and twisted at the end of the story.
This author has destroyed her series for me. Her last three books are filled with unbelievable and ridiculous plot lines, and her cliffhanger endings are completely unbelievable. She gives her readers no credit for any intelligence whatsoever. Do not recommend wasting your time and money!
I Love this series and enjoyed this one very very much; the ending i won’t give away but it’s more true to the series than I thought it would be and the ending made me fall back in love again after a brief hiatus of not liking where the story was going. Not that any of the books were a huge disappointment but the previous books felt somehow untrue to the character but happily for me anyway this book begins to bring her back and adds more dimension to her. enjoyable! read it!
Hannah Barton has been sleeping alone since her new husband of two weeks, Ross Barton left for parts unknown. Ross works at a TV station so everyone is thinking he is on some location and will be back soon. P. K. is his camera man, and is also helping Michelle with some ‘public service announcements’ for the upcoming winter play. Michelle and Hannah are sisters and work at The Cookie Jar. Then P.K. takes Ross’ car and crashes it, killing him. But it wasn’t the crash that killed P.K. , he was poisoned! Now Hannah and Michelle are in investigator mode to find out who would kill P. K. and why. Then there is the strange things Hannah finds out that Ross left her. Isn’t he coming back? Is he dead also? Can they find the answers? You will need to read the book to find out, the ending will surprise you. It left me with my mouth agape, shaking my head! I voluntarily reviews a copy of this book from Net Galley. The review is my own opinion. Oh! Don’t forget all those wonderful recipes throughout the book!!!
Raspberry Danish Murder by Joanne Fluke #RaspberryDanishMurder #NetGalley
Have read the other books in the series and know I am going to like this one.
Starts out with Hannah and Michelle as they head to work. Ross has not returned and she has not had any phone calls from him.
Recipes appear during the book. Love learning which products I can substitute for. Love all the notes along the way.
People come in while they are baking and it’s easy to keep track of them and their careers. PK is Ross’ assistant and he needs a ride while his is being repaired. They let him borrow Ross’s car.
Like reuniting with the local folks, catching up with what they are doing nowadays.
Mike the cop and Norman the dentist, once contenders to be Hannah’s husband are all just friends and help her with mysteries that land in her lap.
The girls answer a call from PK as he’s speeding and inchherent, drugged or drunk as he drives off the road.
After calling Mike they also head out to the accident scene. Hannah learns a lot more talking to others there…
She really does not know her husband much at all as surprises are coming from all directions. Mike is collecting information about PK while Andrea is on the trail to find out more about Ross.
Details they uncover lead to other clues. Seems a lot of people but if you’ve followed this series from day one it’s easy to keep track of who is who. Enjoyed this read kept you going, page after page.
Excerpt from Winter Chill is included. So many recipes, what a treasure!
I received this review book from Kensington Books via Net Galley and this is my honest opinion.
This was kind of two mysteries for-the-price-of one. First, who killed P.K. and was he the intended target or was it Hannah’s husband. Second, what happened to Hannah’s husband. I have not read all these books in order, so Hannah being married was new to me. I need to go back and read some of the previous stories to catch up. I enjoyed this mystery. Nice escape. Hannah and her sister Michelle want to figure out what happened to P.K. Along the way Lonnie and Mike (both police officers and friends) and Norman (another friend) join in. Tempting recipes are included. The characters are fun and engaging. The murderer was a surprise.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my review.
It has been awhile since I read one of the Hannah Swensen mysteries, but I’ve read so many in this series that it was easy to pick up where I had left off. All the recurring people in the story were just as I remembered them. I did, however, especially enjoy the enhanced role of Hannah’s sister, Michelle, in this story.
This book follows a similar pattern as Ms. Fluke’s previous stories in the series, but I think that is one reason I enjoy these stories. It is light, entertaining, and comfortable reading – with a few surprises thrown in to keep you on your toes.
The ending caught me off guard, but it also seemed to wrap up too quickly. I felt left thinking that surely there could be a little more explanation. I won’t go into details as I don’t want to spoil the story for you. I will say that it was not a serious enough of an issue for me to say I’m not reading any more of this series, because I’m pretty sure that I will be going back to read the books I missed (I think I have an unread paperback by Joanne Fluke on my bookcase right now!).
A side note: Joanne Fluke always includes some fabulous looking recipes. I’ve never tried them since I’m not much of a cook, but they do look good.
I received my copy of this book from NetGalley. However, the opinion expressed here is entirely my own.
