I never wanted to lie to her, but I knew I couldn’t keep her safe if she knew. I hurt her, more than I ever wanted to and I have to live with that each day that I’m away from her. But one day she’ll know, that every day spent away from her was hell. Watching her move on. Watching her change. But it will all be worth it once she’s safe.Even if she doesn’t know it, she is my Rapture.
Rapture is book four and the conclusion in Sloane Murphy’s The Immortal Chronicles series. This book continues on from were book three Soar ends.

I really have no idea what to say about this book, I absolutely loved books 1 & 2, I tolerated book 3 as it was detrimental to the story. But this one felt like a BIG let down. I don’t know if it was just that Xander stole my heart from the beginning and I was loyal to him, but I did not like Addie and Dante together. Not that there is anything wrong with Dante, I just felt that Xander and Addie were not given a true chance at happiness. My heart was completely and utterly destroyed for Xander, the devastation and heartache he experiences while watching his love with another man just broke me.
I found Addie to be very selfish and annoying in this book. She was all about talking about being lied to and not trusting people, but she kept a massive secret that could have destroyed everything that everyone was trying to fix. I can’t say much more than this cryptic spill as it will ruin the story for you. But I just did not like her in this one, again it could be that the fact I am #TeamXander .

I don’t know what happened!! This is not the book I was expecting at all. I didn’t expect rainbows & unicorns, I could even deal with Addie’s choices but that ending before the epilogue … That was wrong, I just can’t believe that was the plan or what was the point in this series???
This book was back to being full of angst. Then there are the betrayals that she forgives almost instantly to some but not to others?
I’m sorry but I just felt this book was muddled, ill planned/conceived & executed I really enjoyed the previous books so I feel gutted & let down I generally have NO issues when Authors decide to kill off characters. I may disagree, be sad & cry but I’d never take it out on the star rating, that’s crazy …. Well it isn’t now – It felt like it was used to finish the book asap ‘just because ‘. Their was zero sense to the lead up and no real explanation why it all happened – it was a total cop out in my opinion!!!
I want to know why they attacked? Who was behind it & why? Where was Addie’s Mum, Why did she break the blood oath? If breaking a blood oath kills Fae, Why was she still alive 4yrs later? Why did she seem to have Addie so much? What happened to Xander & Kaden’s sister? Did Dimitri ever go & get Dani & if so did she move to him or has he moved to pack lands? How did Kaden & ***** end up together? These are questions off of the top of my head. All we get are some of the most basic answers squeezed into the epilogue’s in a most unsatisfactory way. I finished reading about few hours ago and I’m still gutted
I give 1 star for loyalty to the previous books & a 2nd star because it definitely doesn’t deserve just a 1 Star rating, so 2 Stars

Rapture is the epic conclusion of Sloane Murphy’s Immortal Chronicles series. It cannot be read as a stand alone.
This book opens where book three left off – with Addie marrying Dante and Xander Bane, the love of her life, reappearing moments too late to stop the wedding. Now it is up to Addie to decide if she will stay with Dante to rule the kingdom or attempt to break Fae traditions by ending her marriage.
There is so much to this book, that it is hard to summarize without giving away some major plot twists that I in no way saw coming!
Addie is an incredibly strong young woman, who really does try to do what is right for the people she cares for as well as the people she now rules. She is faced with incredibly difficult and life altering choices throughout this series, and Rapture truly puts her to the test. Xander and Dante are complete opposites and both represent completely different lifestyles and choices to Addie. Both offer their love and support in their own ways, and Addie is faced with a choice that will determine the rest of her life.
While not the ending I envisioned when I started book one, it was very satisfying in it’s own unique way. Sloane Murphy did an amazing job of wrapping things up and keeping her story unique and unexpected in all ways. 4 stars.
