I love the “In Death” series by J.D. Robb, who is Nora Roberts. It takes place in the future and Eve, our protagonist, is a tough no nonsense homicide detective. She is married to a reformed criminal who is a billionaire who helps with her cases.

I enjoy the futuristic aspects of the series, the main characters, and the interaction. The descriptive sex and violence detract from the series, IMHO

This entire series is fantastic. The background characters increase as the series continues and they become old friends. Should be read in order as the main character develops and matures with the passage of time. Excellent!! Writer is Nora Roberts.
