She doesn’t expect him to take her hostage. She’s already been abducted from Earth to be a tribute bride for the Drexian warriors, and Trista has finally gotten used to the idea of marrying a brawny alien warrior. Sort of. He has to be better than the awful guys from home she’s been trying so hard to forget. Not only is Torven a Drexian …
Not only is Torven a Drexian warrior, but he’s also a member of Inferno Force. That means he’s bigger, tougher, and more dangerous. When he’s falsely accused of treason, he knows his only hope is to escape and give his fellow warriors time to prove his innocence.
Taking the pretty blonde tribute bride as a hostage wasn’t his plan, but Torven considers it a stroke of good luck. Until she shoots him and causes them to be marooned on a frozen planet. Between running from vicious ice creatures and avoiding alien pursuers, will she become more than his captive?
This standalone action romance novel features steamy scenes on a barren ice planet, space battles, deadly aliens hell-bent on invading Earth, and smoking-hot Drexian warriors with extra erogenous zones who are equally determined to protect Earth.

Drexian warriors were known across the galaxy for defending weaker species, but the elite Inferno Force was the warrior team known for enforcing their might with equal parts justice and fury. Inferno Force warriors were rough and battle-scarred, and spent most of their time fighting on the outskirts of the galaxy. No one messed with them! The Drexians had been protecting Earth from the Kronock for quite some time and recently found the Kronock had stayed hidden while advancing their technology. The High Command had halted transport of human brides until they could be sure of their safety.
As Torven and his friend, Dakar, were talking about Torven’s fortune in being awarded a mate, four Drexian warriors entered to tell him to report to the High Command immediately, even though they knew he was on the way to the station for his bride. But it seems he is instead being brought in for questioning on a criminal matter — treason and conspiring with the enemy – and they put iron cuffs on his wrists!
Trista stepped out of the party. She wasn’t like the other brides. She was tough. She felt like she was living a lie even wearing this dress! She had dated bad-boy motorcycle types and fixed their bikes or anything else mechanical. She doubted her Drexian would allow her to tinker with his spaceship! Just then Serge the wedding planner ran up to her and told her that Torven was arriving to appear before the High Command for treason! And he was arriving right now!
As Torven arrived, his old Commander Dorn rushed to meet him. He was a member of the High Command and had the cuffs removed from Torven. He took him aside and told him the High Command was compromised, but he didn’t know who the traitor was. Then Dorn told him he needed more time to investigate – Torven needed to run! When he looked up, his promised bride, Trista, was walking toward him! Trista couldn’t let him go so easily. Even if she ended up with someone else, she felt the need to see him and know what might have been. Why did the bad-boys always attract her!? This had been her chance to make the right choices – so why did she still want HIM? Then telling her she would always be his, he disarmed a guard, grabbed her, and ran.
They escaped on a ship and he removed her tracking device. He had to change out of his Inferno Force uniform but, with his back to her, he suddenly felt heat strike him as she shot him with a blaster! She knew he wasn’t like her vicious ex, but just being under the control of another man had panicked her. But now she recalled that Commander Dorn believed and trusted Torven. She would not turn him in – they would kill him and he just might be innocent after all. Then, as she watched, the console started blinking, one red light after another. And Torven was still unconscious. By the time she woke him, they were already beginning to crash somewhere! Would they survive? Would they be tracked down or killed before Dorn could clear his name?
I loved this book from the start. The writing was excellent (with a couple his/hers mixed up), and the dialog was great between Torven and Trista. I felt like a fool laughing out loud at their conversations sometimes! As they were trying to avoid the crash, he told her one engine is disabled, and the other is damaged. She asked how many engines they have, and he replied “two”! After she had shot him with a blaster, she promised not to shoot the only pilot in the ship, to which he replied that he would try to give her more reasons than that in the future! It really made a funny moment in the midst of pending doom. Great writing, wonderful story line, strong and admirable characters – I was very impressed with this book.
Drexian Warrior Torvan and his Tribute Bride!
by sewsummore
Torvan was enroute to claim his Tribute Bride, a human woman named Trista whom he had felt a connection despite the distance between them. He was ready to leave when he was charged with high treason and his bride was foreit and taken into custody. There was a chance to escape before the trial and he took it and as a further incentive he grabbed his Tribute Bride as hostage to prevent them firing upon his ship. He swore to his bride that he was innocent, but could she believe him? This was a dramatic story of conspiracy, treason and fated mates. Trista was attracted to the Drexian Warrior who had kidnapped her, he was the same sort of “Bad Boy” that she usually fell for and regretted it later. Was this one any different, it was up to Torvan to prove his love and devotion but when he manages to save her life more than once she changes her mind. This series gets better and better as the Drexian Warriors find and marry their mates.

how can a drexian tribute bride go wrong? every way possible for these two, Torven is stuck at the front lines of the war, and then when he is finally on his way to his bride he is wrongly arrested for treason. Trista finally gets her first look at her warrior and he is in handcuffs.
Will these two ever find there way together? of will this trip on the Love Boat, be an Unhappy ending?

Ransomed is as good as the other stories in the series. Danger, adventure, romance, betrayal, friendship, heroism… all just ingredients of the great tale.

3 1/2 stars This was an enjoyable book. I liked the characters and it wasn’t angsty. This was a good length, fairly short but didn’t feel rushed. This is also not a sex story, or at least not for the first half although after they start, the sex scenes are kind of frequent. The H is an honor bound alien who is accused of treason. The h is a human kidnapped from earth to be a tribute bride. Earth’s government made a deal with the aliens that they could kidnap compatible women from earth in exchange for protection from other cruel warmongering aliens. It was earth’s government’s that decided not to tell the public about the aliens. They could only take compatible women, which only about half the world’s women are, and they must have few ties and people to miss them. The H and h were to be married until he was accused. Then all bets were off. The H is brought to the “Boat” the place where the brides are brought and also where the ruling council is. When he gets there as he gets off the shuttle he meets with an Allie who holds a high position. The h shows up to see who she would have married. With help from his friend he maneuvers an escape and decides to use his supposed bride in his escape. He sort of can’t help himself because ever since he saw her picture he’s been obsessed. He feels it’s meant to be. The story revolves around them trying to stay safe and them building their relationship. Eventually they get their HEA. There were some editing issues and a few times the author awkwardly phrased some things but overall the the author did a good job and I enjoyed the story. I would definitely recommend this book.
