A new series from the author of the Moonshine Task Force Series! Laurel Springs, AL is about to be hotter than a mid-August thunderstorm. When the Moonshine Task Force is absorbed into a new entity, Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team (LSERT) new faces come to town, new love is born, old love is found again, and there’s a plethora of drama and romance happening all over the tri-county area. … over the tri-county area. LSERT puts police, firefighters, nurses, doctors, K-9 handlers, and EMT’s all in harm’s way as they work to keep the area safe from any threat.
Emotions run high, passions ignite.
Come with me, back to Laurel Springs, in what’s sure to be a wild ride!
Ransom Thompson
For years I’ve wanted two things – to be a member of the Moonshine Task Force and to be the man Stella Kepler can’t live without.
One out of two isn’t bad, or so I tell myself. Being the only K-9 handler for The MTF presents its own share of obstacles, but me and Rambo? We make it work. Life is status quo, until I’m called in to help with what appears to be a hostage situation and Stella is right in the middle of it.
This is my one chance, and I’m not going to blow it.
Stella Kepler
When I’m stuck in an examination room holding a hurt woman and a man with a gun, I do the only thing I can. I sneak out, call 911 and hope help comes quickly. It does.
In the form of Ransom Thompson.
He and I have known each other since we were babies. Our mother’s are friends, our dad’s work together, and we’ve always been friends.
Only, the last few months I’ve started to notice things. How mature he is, how alpha he can be, the chiseled six-pack, and the abundance of ink spreading across his body.
When I offer to cook him dinner for saving me, neither one of us know how that one moment will change the course of the rest of our lives.

Laramie Briscoe writes the best book boyfriends. I mean, seriously – Ransom is fantastic. He’s all alpha male when he needs to be, and he’s all teddy bear when that’s required. And he and Stella are so good together. The story is a low-angst, feel-good read for the most part. There is some excitement and danger, but the focus is on Ransom and Stella. This is one of those books that you can’t read without smiling and doing a fair bit of swooning. There are a lot of characters from the Moonshine Taskforce, and the author provides some info in the front of the book to give new readers some background. That said, this one does stand alone, and it’s easy to figure out the various ties to other characters in the story. All in all, Ransom is a quick, entertaining romance with a sweet and sexy couple and some great secondary characters to look forward to as the series progresses.
I have to say that Ransom is my new favorite book boyfriend! Ransom and Stella have known each other most of their lives and for most of that time Ransom has had a thing for her. Fast forward to them once they are adults and maybe the feelings are mutual. Do the canine cop and the nurse have what it takes to go the distance?
Laramie Briscoe knows how to write characters that you will become invested in and she definitely snared me up with Ransom and his lady love Stella. Ransom and Stella are characters that I will remember for a long time and the bonus was I got to get a glimpse of some of my favorite characters from the Moonshine Force.
This is the first book in what I would call a spin off series from The Moonshine Task Force series. Now you don’t have to read The Moonshine Task Force series but to be honest you should. It will really help you to understand the whole dynamics of these families and this town.
Ransom and Stella have grown up together but it is only as adults that they recognize they want each other enough to pursue something. This couple having grown up around the hard work it takes to make a relationship work. I love their way with each other and their families. The heat like with the other books is definitely there but also like with other books it is a natural progression with their relationship.
I am so excited to read more from Laramie Briscoe.
Perfection! Love reading about the kids of the MTF guys all grown up. Ransom and Stella are beautiful together. This was a sweet & adorable story about friends finding love and what it takes to stand by one another through every thing. Add in Rambo and this story just gets that much better. Ransom and Rambo are cute together. Ransom maybe a mommas boy but he is all Alpha male when it come to work and Stella. I enjoyed every single moment of their journey together
Let me first start by saying everytime Laramie writes another MTF book I think, “this guys my new favorite.” But then always in the back of my head I always go back to loving Havoc the best. So naturally if I’m going to fall in love with a new character of hers it would be his son. Like father and son. I absolutely love Ransom. He is such a good loveable guy, you honestly cant help but love him and his K9 partner Rambo. By the way the dog is his best friend, partner, and kid. I mean come on who doesnt love a good story with a loyal dog?? Your heart would have to be cold and black.
Anyways I love that Ransom is an Alpha Male whose not a a**hole. That’s one of the things I love most about Larmies men, they are good honest guys. Nice guys, and that’s refreshing since most books tend to be about jerks.
Her books have a very real life feel to them, they could all easily be people you know and love in real life. They are normal everyday blue collar men and women. I love that, I love having a very realistic aspect when reading. It helps me connect to the book better. Laramie is the best at writing realist stories.
So yeah I loved this book, but it wasnt just Ransom that I loved it was Stella as well. Shes so laid back, level headed, shes doesn5 have any moments where you want to shake her while saying, “what are you doing!?”
She is your typical lady again with the realistic feel to the characters. So all around I loved the both them individually, but I also LOVED them as a couple. The chemistry that the two had was off the charts and was fun to see. I loved the all the flirting, even though the two were both grown adults it was super cute. It reminded me of two teens in the beginning of a relationship. Super cute!
Overall I loved everything about this story. I really liked getting to reconnect with all the characters and getting a glimpse into everyone’s lives now that its 20+ years later. That was really great, and I loved how it made you want to know more about other characters like Kelsea, Nick, and Cutter. I cant wait for those 3s stories.
Great job Laramie you have really nailed it with this one. As always your writing never ceases to amaze me! Cant wait for the next one.
I kindly received and ARC in exchange for an honest review.Laramie Briscoe
This book has the perfect amount of alpha hotness and sweetness that I absolutely loved Ransom. He had the perfect balance between being an alpha and a perfect southern gentleman. He has loved Stella pretty much all their lives, especially since they grew up together and were friends before anything happened, Ransom has a hard time trying to work up the nerve to tell Stella how he feels so when the perfect opportunity comes along and he gets to be her knight in shining armor things start to fall in place for these two. The chemistry they have are off the charts and they tread carefully because they don’t want things to go bad and family and friends have to pick sides, but some things happen and everyone finds out about them but they knew all along they belonged together. Loved this so much and am excited to read about Nick

She was the brightest star in my world….
She’s interested in me; and oh yeah the feeling is totally mutual but I know my friend thinks I’m living in La La land.
But I’m more then willing to provide him wrong because one day soon my biggest dream will come true.
Its almost time to call it a day for me and my four-legged partner when I responded to a call and once I’m on my way there it becomes very clear today I’m taking point.
When everything is all said and done I’m just glad no one got hurt and the bad man won himself a free ride.
But then again today certainly made a good impression on the girl I like because now I’m a super hero in her eyes.
Okay so I’ve known him for what seems like forever and I’d have to blind not to realize he’s changed because now I’m seeing him in a whole new light.
Sometimes my roommate can be an annoying harpy but then again she’s also my best friend and I need her help because I really want to knock him for a loop.
And yeah I think I did a good job of keeping him on his toes but I’d honestly thought he’d would have tried something.
However it most definitely was in his kiss and yeah I wanted more; but sometimes just knowing is enough for the moment.
I know my little brother is having a hard time dealing with a huge hit to his pride and his bruised heart and he’s floundering around like a fish out of water.
The most beautiful sight in the world was Stella on my bed waiting for me and yeah I want her like there’s no tomorrow.
But I need her to be all in because I’m one hundred percent sure she’s the one.
I don’t know what made me spill all my secrets to Menace the way I just did but its done now; still I’m also happy for the words of wisdom he gave me.
However I found myself in the most uncomfortable situation any man could ever have nightmares about.
And she totally took advantage of it taking it to the next level while I’m having to sit there trying not to reveal my growing problem.
Oh yeah I’m more then willing to show her just how much she affected me and wouldn’t you know even my answer has her making even bigger promises for tonight.
It’s really hard listening to your best friend tear himself down because he thinks he’s not good enough for the girl he wants and he totally lost his cool when she surprised him.
Stella had been enjoying her time alone with her mom; even when Leighton totally
embarrassed her by pointing out something apparently no one else had until she did.
No one was prepared for her dad’s arrival nor the news he brought with him.
However they all knew being in law enforcement always came with its degree of dangerous situations so now she was having to face it head on.
It was steamy and romantic i did not want to put it down!
Could not relate to their conversations. Ranson loved her but the dialog was just not believable.
Great book of the second generation. Ransom and Stella are childhood friends. Love the banter. Fast pace and full of drama and love reading about previous books characters. Can’t wait to read the next book. A must have.
Ransom and Stella
I think this book has good bones. To me Ransom and Stella act immature for their ages, especially Stella, and everyone’s potty mouth is a bit over the top.
Great characters, I felt like I was taken “inside” the book and able to really get to know everyone.
Storyline is too similar to one of the authors previous books.
The style of writing is what lets this book down. It is in need of a good editing. The sentence structure is underdeveloped. It’s awkward at times. And in need of some serious research. If your going to write about K9 and police officers, research the lingo and procedures. The bedroom senes are immature and juvenile.
Storyline itself was entertaining. Ending was totally out of character for the couple. But at least they got their happy ending.
Not For the Faint of Heart!!
Can you handle sexy, dark and a MC read that keeps you enthralled? If that is a “yes” than you have to grab this book which is another hit by Erin Trejo. Ransom involves kidnapping, torture, sex trafficking and underlying dark events which makes this oh, so good especially with Ransom and Henley. I don’t want to give much away but believe me if you love dark MC reads this is definitely a book for you.
I enjoyed the characters in all the series of books. Wishing for more books…
Held my interest, but predictable.
love this series.. can be stand alone, but love the on going stories
Good story
Ransom and Stella have grown up together. Ransom is crazy about Stella and wants to date her. Stella has started noticing how sexy Ransom is and his kindness. When Stella ends up in a hostage situation, Ransom ends up rescuing her. The two have no idea how a simple dinner will change their lives.
