You know it’s a page-turner when you get back out of bed to read just a few more pages and before you know it, the book is done and it’s almost time to wake up and get ready for the day.
Holly Anna is such a great character. I’ve enjoyed having her in my reading life, starting with the Squeaky Clean series. Her Holly Anna Paladin Mysteries Books are just what this armchair or couch reader loves.
I loved, loved, loved this newest Holly Anna Book, perhaps the final book in this series (though I hope we’ll see Holly Anna again)! In this installment, Holly Anna is kidnapped by a wacko kidnapper who seems to know way too much about her life and likes. It totally freaks her out, and when she escapes, her ex-fiance wants to work to keep her safe, and they begin to grow closer again. Once again, author Christy Barritt has woven an exciting tale of suspense and misdirection to keep the reader interested. Some loose ends are tied up, coming to a satisfying conclusion.
I received a copy of this book with no obligation, except to give a fair review. I loved this book!
This wraps up the series… At least for now.
Love this author & most of her books. Unfortunately this was my first Holly Anna Paladin stories and it is her last in the series. I tried to start at the beginning with book 1 after finishing this but sadly could not. It is evident that Holly Anna has grown & developed over the series making book 1 unreadable for me. I think if I had started with book 1 I would not have continued with the series-I really didn’t like the main character in book 1.
Another great book by Christy Barritt.
This has to be my favorite in the Holly Anna Paladin series. This book dove into Holly’s worst nightmare and shook the core of her personality. It was so refreshing to see the reality of her situation come to a head and how she chose to respond to it. It was also nice to see the resolution in her relationships. The mystery was well layered and held twists that were excellent! The clues were there…and when they came together, it was a very satisfying conclusion. It’s a very clean, well developed series and I highly recommend it.
This is my favorite in this series. In the previous books, Holly is a strong woman who does what she wants (in the name of helping others) without much thought of the consequences. She also has a need to help others but she doesn’t really need others. In this book, we see her realize her need and her imperfections. It’s very powerful.
This book will feed a reader’s addiction for mystery!
Random Acts of Iniquity by Christy Barritt is definitely a fast-pace, hurry up and solve type of mystery. Barritt created an element of mystery from the first chapter and then threw Holly and Chase for a loop as they tried to find the person who kidnapped her in the first chapter. While it has been a while since I read any of the Holly Anna Paladina stories, I felt like I returned to a friend and was catching up on her life. It was easy to squeeze right back into Holly’s life and watch the mystery solving unfold. The mystery element moved quickly; I finished the story in a little under three hours. Barritt does a wonderful job at creating a cozy mystery with a huge element of surprise. I totally didn’t guess who the villain was at all. I was thinking of someone else the whole time. The writing was marvelous. I highly recommend this new book from Christy Barritt for fans of Barritt’s writing or fans of cozy mysteries.
I had a free advance copy of this book, but this is my honest opinion. I really enjoyed this new book by Christy. She did a great job of character development and plot. It was an interesting theme and I enjoyed the suspense and the twist at the end was unexpected. Keep up the good work Christy. I haven’t read the rest of the books in this series, but would like to now.
Holly Anna Paladin emanates loyalty, trust, sweetness and strong friendship. So who could be her kidnapper with the goal to intimidate and do her harm? Both her ex-boyfriend and ex-fiance come to the rescue leaving her in a tailspin of emotions.
The satisfying conclusion wraps lingering questions of the series but new readers can easily join with this edition. Reading the previous installments is not mandatory but highly recommended for your enjoyment.
Christy Barritt again strongly delivers a highly-crafted cast of characters for her fans both new and seasoned.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
