This book was written as if we, the readers, were voyeurs watching closely each character and each hurdle to ascend. This of love story with twists and turns of mystery and evil were weaved by an accomplished author. It’s realistic. And, it’s action packed ‘til the very end. I recommend this Mail Order bride adventure if you want to be fascinated start to finish.

BJ Daniels never disappoints!
Reminiscent of the movie Gaslight, there’s a bit of a psychological thriller element. This book is a little bit different than your typical Western. I really liked it.
I can’t get enough of B.J. Danies and buy her book the minute they are offered. Don’t miss out on this one.
This intriguing volume in the Cahill series was taut with suspense and included a generous dollop of second chance romance. There were several compelling mysteries to solve and secrets to reveal. The evidence was muddled concerning the incredibly naïve Drey being set-up, gaslighted, or losing her mind, and although I had strong suspicions as to who was behind her tribulations, I couldn’t discern the why. And I loved that. Ms. Daniels has skillfully penned a crazy good mystery as her writing kept me attentive, on-edge, and highly curious. The separate storylines wove in and out until combining seamlessly into a satisfying conclusion. The final installment of this beloved series is in the works and I look forward to seeing how this crafty writer wraps things up.
I liked the ending but felt it was complicated.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
There were so many turns + twists in this book.
I am not sure if Deidre was marrying Ethan for the right reasons.
She was still in love w/ Hawk, and Hawk was still in love w/ Deidre.
What are these 2 to do?
The storytelling + the character’s build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
Rancher’s Dream was full of suspense and mystery-much more than I expected! I thought it would be a story about a woman who has to move back to her home town and faces a man she used to love. I was very, very wrong. It was a good sort of surprise!
Drey has returned to her tiny hometown for her wedding. She thought by marrying Ethan she would be living the high life in Manhattan or something. However, after her wedding she finds herself alone in their new home because Ethan has disappeared. I thought this would be a story about a woman abandoned by her husband slowly falling back in love with her first love. Nope. Strange things start happening. Thankfully, Hawk lives next door. Honestly, this book kept me guessing the whole time. I felt like I was right on the cusp of figuring it out, only to realize I was just pulling on a thread to nothing.
My biggest struggle with Drey and Hawk was their initial break up a miscommunication. I loathe that trope and I find it really irritating. I think it creates this lingering bitterness that a conversation could clear up.
If you like second chance romances with a big, heaping dose of crazy mystery, Rancher’s Dream is a great pick! Like I said, this book was not at all what I expected but it was a delightful find!
This one I found to have a bit different flavor than the others in this series. It starts out telling you the story then it plays with your mind like it does Drey’s. You also are thinking poor Hawk but you are too caught up with what is going on too. The suspense in this one is the slow roll that will simmer than bring you to a boil kind. This one is a good mystery attached with you loving every step of the way. I also enjoyed the adoption story that continues with loving how this one curls around the mystery with having some answers we all have waited for. The pace was faster than most in this series with the wind blowing at times. This carries its own weight with the romance being embroiled in at just the right places.
Mountain Crest, or as the citizens of Gilt Edge, Montana call it, Baxter’s Folly, is to be her new home. Deidre “Drey” Hunter’s new husband “surprises” her with this announcement at their wedding reception. Drey was looking forward to living in her new husband’s penthouse apartment in New York City. Ethan’s decision was quite a disappointment. What was worse – her husband disappears on her wedding night. And this house seems to be sinister and even cursed. Is someone watching Drey? Is someone trying to make her feel unhinged? Where is Drey’s husband? Drey is scared, so scared she calls her ex-boyfriend Hawk Cahill for help. Can Hawk help her? What is going on?
B.J. Daniels has another page-turner in Rancher’s Dream, the latest release in her Montana Cahills series. The intrigue and suspense rushed off the pages thrilling this reader and I suspect will keep her readers awake well past their bedtime finishing this book so they can find out how this mystery ends. The characters are all so believable as Ms. Daniels’ characters usually are. She places the readers in Drey’s shoes as she is frightened half out of her mind. I invite readers to enter B.J. Daniels Montana Cahills world and hold on tight for a fast and furious ride.
