Rainy Day Lovers ( The Rocklyns Book 3) By Alicia Street is an Amazingly written Book about second chances and makes you realize things can get busy especially when you are trying to get your life together but you forget about yourself. This is what happens with Rainy.Roman has felt with a tragedy in his life and is still haunted by it today. These two characters definitely have chemistry. I truly enjoyed this quick read and had a hard time putting it down once I started reading. I was definitely taken on an emotional rollercoaster ride. I highly recommend reading this Book. Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns)
By Alicia Street
Rainy Day Lovers is the third book in the Rocklyn series by Alicia Street. Don’t normally read a book that’s already book three of a series as I always wonder what I have missed out on. On saying that this book is a nice quick read, with amazing characters. I liked the characters of Roman and Raina, but the secondary characters in my opinion were just as good. Alicia has given us a heart warming, contemporary love story, a story that flowed perfectly from page to page. I do recommend that this book is read and I hope you enjoy it.
Rainy days lead to the most beautiful skies
I love the Rocklyns. Rainy is strong & sweet & tender hearted. And she has met her match in Roman. He may have had a rough start but he is an angel. They’re both angels. Sweet, steamy, sad, witty, with a touch of drama. Great quick read.
A great read about moving forward. Raina Rocklyn always likes to help people. When she saves a homeless man from being attacked in the rain, she thinks it is just a kind act for someone in need and will never see him again. Twenty odd years later, she bumps into successful plastic surgeon Ronan Blake while working in a market. She falls for him despite his standoffishness towards her but is there more to him than meets the eye?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Raina standing up for himself but still kind underneath or Ronan trying to be a better man with a kind heart. Great cast of supporting characters like the bubbly sister Shannon or the kind but stubborn father of Sydney.
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like in the busy city full of life and people with its busy streets and restaurants. Or the contrast with the farm and vineyard and market full of fruit and veg and bright colourful flowers in blues and yellows in simple beauty. Or the rain and thunder and lightning with its sounds and smells and seen as a good omen like in folklore instead of being ominous as it is in literature which was refreshing and a lovely touch perfectly written.
The switch of perspectives was well written to display both sides of the story and with the asterisks dividing it with their names made it easy to follow for the reader. I also liked the use of dates and places in the chapter titles which was a great addition to give the reader a clear sense of location and to display how much time had passed. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.
Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3) by Alicia Street is a wonderfully written contemporary romance. It is a quick and easy read that is both heartwarming and heartfelt. These adorable characters drew me into their wonderful journey, which is both believable and realistic. I enjoyed the story so much that before I knew it I was turning the last page.
Raina has always put the needs of others before herself. So much so that when she sees quiet unassuming and disfigured man being harrassed, she puts herself in danger. Will she ever see him again?
Roman had been given a second chance, one that changed his life. He is not that same broken man he once was. He has never forgotten the kind stranger that helped him so many years ago. Can he share his secret with the woman that he loves?
I am excited to read the rest of the series but I need to go back and start at the beginning, as I started with this book first.
Rainy Day Lovers was a great book from start to finish. The characters were great and the plot was great.
It all started in 2001 when Raina was witness to a homeless guy around her age was getting attacked. He wasn’t only homeless but he was in some sort of horrific accident by the look of his face. Raina saved the young man and took him to get something to eat. Then gave him money and some good advise. She told Robbie to go speak with a friend of hers and she knew if given the chance she knew he would make the best of it. All because of Raina, Robbie stepped in to help a man being robbed in a park one night and his life changed.
Fifteen years later Raina and Robbie ( who now goes by Roman ) somehow meet again. Roman has a new face and is a plastic surgeon. All things happen for a reason. Fate stepped in and did the right thing in this book about second chance meetings / romances. Roman keeps his past hidden to Raina and doesn’t tell her that he was the homeless guy she helped all those years ago. What will happen when the truth comes out.
This book was such a sweet read. I love Roman. He’s just an all around great guy and I believe he was given that second chance at a happy life because of his run in with Raina.

4 out of 5 stars
I must say that this book stars with some series heart strings. This book can be read as a stand along but I recommend picking up the previous 2 books as this one is just a good as the first two. Raina, or Rainy, as she likes to be called, spent most of her young adult life as the peacekeeper in what can be loosely called a dysfunctional household. When she grew up to become a family law attorney, she continued in that role, and is downright appalled to realize that she has pretty much let life slip her by.
Roman had a rough start in life. A tragic house fire took his family from him and left him orphaned, marred and in the foster system. When the group home setting didn’t work out so well, he took to the streets, only to be rescued, if only briefly, by the well-meaning Rainy. He fought his way out of his terrible position and is now a plastic surgeon, who helps heal the physical scars of others, all while the scars he suffers with, both physical and emotional, eat away at him.
These two characters are a fire waiting to ignite, and when they do, they are set ablaze. The dynamic between these two is unlike any that I have read before and the author has crafted a unique dual POV that had be hooked from the first page. You will not regret this story.
Rainy Day Lovers is the 3rd book in the Rocklyns series by Alicia Street. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. This is the first book I have read by this author and if this book is anything to go by, I’ll be reading more.
Rainy Day Lovers is a short read (120 pages) but there’s so much packed into those 120 pages. It’s a heart-warming story which shows that if someone really believes in you and encourages you, you can achieve great things.
Raina (Rainy) Rocklyn has a heart of gold and will do anything to help others. One such act of kindness totally changed the life of homeless teenager Robbie Malako when she saved him from a brutal attack. Robbie had been badly burned in a fire and was badly disfigured which lead him to be the subject of abuse and attack.
Years later Raina meets handsome plastic surgeon Roman Blake at a family wedding. There is an instant attraction between them but Roman brushes her off and acts very coldly towards her. Life has other plans and the 2 are forced to spend time together. Unknown to Rainy, Roman is actually Robbie. Not long after the incident with Rainy he was adopted by a plastic surgeon who totally transformed his life.
This is a beautiful story with 2 characters that I adored. If you are looking for a quick read that will make you all warm and fuzzy inside then Rainy Day Lovers is the book for you.
Rainy Day Lovers is the third book in Alicia Street’s The Rocklyns’ series. As the writer says, you can read all the books in the series as standalones so that is also what I did, I started with book three! I have not read anything else by this writer so I was curious when reading the blurb so I decided to pick up a copy!
I was right! Alicia has given us a beautiful contemporary love story with two amazing characters – Raina and Roman. They were so realistic, you could simply close your eyes and picture this story in front of your eyes, like walking along them … I loved the complexity of the characters and how the wrier spun the story, there was something about the two of them, the way they met, the paths the life took them down on … the sadness, the tension, the attraction, the passion …
I loved the split point of view telling of story that added another layer of reality to the characters as it pushes us deeper into who they are … ALSO, let’s not forget about all those secondary characters that make us wish for their own story so it means I need to go and read the other stories in the series and keep an eye on the next one!

This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed this story! It may be book 3 but i was able to read this as a standalone.
While I enjoyed this book, I also felt the two main characters were kind of rushed. We got a little back story, and then they’re kind of thrust together and there wasn’t much “woo-ing” they just sort of were. I just wanted a little bit more from that otherwise this was a realpy great storyline and something different that I haven’t read before.
Will be reading the rest of this series now!
This is my first book by Alicia Street and I will say she has me hooked. Its the 3rd book in the series but its a standalone but with that said I’m going back to read them all!
Her writing is amazing and she knows how to draw you into the story. The story was well developed and the characters were amazing. So easy to fall in love with and completely well rounded. She made this story relatable and believable which is something I don’t see very often and LOVE!
This book needs to be on everyone one click list! I’ll be going back to read her other books because she has me hooked!
This book had me captivated on the very first page. It was fun, flirty, emotional. Just a fantastic addition to a quiet afternoon. I found the plot engaging and the characters authentic and relatable. The story stands on its own easily. I highly recommend this book!
This was the first time I have picked up a full length novel from Alicia Street on its own. I have only read stuff from her in an anthology before. I have enjoyed her writing in those settings so when I saw the eye catching cover and who it was by I went in blind not knowing what to expect. Now this is book three in a series, The Rocklyns, but I didn’t struggle to terribly reading it as a standalone. I would like to go back and read the other two though to get a better understanding of the supporting characters etc.
I adored our main characters though and they really were the shining stars of this novel. Raina and Roman, what is there to not love about these two. They are perfect for each other too. Ugh. Anyways… This is one contemporary romance that I just couldn’t get enough of, in fact that would be m only complaint! I felt this was so short! I could have had just a tad more, but it was fantastic nonetheless. Thanks for a fantastic read Ms. Street. Off to read books one and two of The Rocklyns!
RAINY DAY LOVERS THE ROCKLYNS by ALICIA STREET
Four Stars
A super sweet and heart warming quick read. If you like books that make you feel gooey on the inside this a good choice. Roman life wasn’t ideal but it’s a story that many know. He had everything but it was gone in a snap. He got lost in a system that fails even today. Raina is a beautiful person. She has done so much for people without the thought of getting anything in return. When their paths crossed the first time it was a miracle the second time fate. I liked how Roman grew into a more confident person after a while. Raina is perfect lol. I will be checking out more from this author. The writing style was smooth and simple. It flowed nicely together.
Rainy Day Lovers was a good 4 star read.
This is my first read from Alicia Street and I really enjoyed it.
Raina is a hoot of a character. She is very bossy and strong willed. We start with her seeing a homeless teen being bullied and she protects him, feeds him and gives him some advice in hopes that he will be ok.
We jump ahead a few years. Raina meets Roman at her sisters wedding, she is instantly attracted to him but he always seems to brush her off. When she finally gets him on a date things get interesting. Roman has a secret, how will Raina react when she learns the truth?
I loved Raina and her blunt straight forwardness, she would call Roman out on things and wouldn’t let him shutdown. Roman was all over the place, at times he was strong and other times he was a mess. We get alternating POV which I loved so I could see both of their thoughts. The secondary characters were great. I really liked the ending and the epilogue leads you into the next book and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
A brilliant romantic read with two strong, powerful characters, Rainy Day Lovers is Book 3 in The Rocklyns Series by Alicia Street. This is a captivating and inspiring read of determination, romance, second chances, and undeniable connections.
I loved how we first get introduced into this story and the characters with a flash back, but with that being said I also felt like throughout the story I felt like I skipped parts and missed out on information, but this does not put a dampener on this book, it’s romantic, and just a go-to book. There are a variety of different emotions you feel while reading it you were smiling, you were sad and it had a lot of parts that are feel good and warm hearted.
I love how quickly Rainy calls Roman out how he gives her mixed signals, but I also love the depth that Rainy and Roman connects. Throughout the book Rainy knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to go after that, which made it even more special when Roman was determined for the same thing, especially after all he has been through.
Reading it in various POV’s really gives you a better insight into each character, their thoughts and most importantly their true feelings.
This is an incredible read that even though it’s part of a series, can easily be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone and you will not want to miss it!
Don’t miss this read, it will leave you wanting more, I can’t wait to see what this author does for the rest of this series!

Rainy Day Lovers is the third book in The Rocklyns series by Alicia Street. This is my first read from Ms, Street, so I didn’t really know what to expect going in. But the blurb sounded promising, and the cover is lovely, so in I went. What I found was a wonderful, well-written, contemporary romance- with characters who drew me into their story and kept me turning the pages to follow them while their story unfolded. Roman and of Raina- what can I say, I absolutely loved them. They are so well developed and complicated individuals- but written in such a way that they were entirely realistic, relatable and believable. I was invested in them and their lovely story. I felt for them too, especially Roman! Even though there were times I wanted to shake them, both!
And even the secondary characters added to the whole storyline. They have intrigued me enough to want to go back and read the rest of the series, before any new instalments come out.
I read the book in a little over an hour, and found it to have a great pace, and is a smooth and easy read.
A lovely romance, and I can’t wait to explore the rest of the series!
Thank you, Ms. Street

Rainy Day Lovers was a really lovely read with two wonderful characters. It didn’t take me long at all to fall in love with Raina, she was so lovely, she was kind, caring and just a real genuine person. Roman, bless him, my heart broke for him and everything that he had been through. I loved the first meeting between him and Raina; it really showed what a kind person she was. However there were times when I wanted to grab my kindle and throw it through the window with frustration because I so desperately wanted these two to be together. I liked that the author wrote from both characters point of view, I think it helped answer some of the questions I had.
Overall I thought that this was a lovely story with two wonderful characters. I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I was able to get into the series with no problem as other characters are explained well. I love ongoing series and I am going to add the other stories to my “wish list”.
This is a very quick novella that seems to be a background story to other main characters. I enjoyed the style of writing and the fact that even though this is a short story, it held a lot of action with the H/h. While some of it moved too quickly and was too convenient, it was a decent read.
I recommend this story.
Rainy Day Lovers ( The Rocklyns Book 3) by Alicia Street. This is a great contemporary romance. You can read it as a series or standalone and its a super fast read.
