Susana Mohel is a new to me author. Rainstorm took me by surprise. The cover was the first thing I noticed about this book and it drew me in to read the blurb. It was a story that broke me in ways unimaginable.
Roselynn and Chase are a couple full of so much love and their sexual chemistry was off the charts. To see a couple with such a strong foundation crumble was heartbreaking. Relating with the couple through their journey of love, lust, heartbreak, acceptance and forgiveness hit me hard. The secondary character introduced has a story of her own that will intrigue you.
Susana Mohel has taken this story and found a way to captivate you and feel like you are the one caught up in the storm of heartbreak. But at the end of every storm there is a rainbow that will shed light to an unfortunate situation and make things brighter and better. That is what Susana delivered with this great story.
Wow, just wow….if you are looking for a angsty, emotional and heartfelt story, look no further that Rainstorm by Susana Mohel. This story is truly a Rainstorm of epic proportions!
Rainstorm is not a hearts and flowers romance. This book doesn’t start happy. This story grabbed me from the get go and didn’t let go even after I finished. It took me almost a whole day later to come up with the words to review this properly without writing a book of my own! This book is going to give you ALL the feels!
Ms. Mohel is gonna take your heart and put it in the proverbial blender, set on frappe! Then she is put your heart back together, stronger and more hopeful and full of feels! I felt anger and loss, I felt heartbreak and I actually cried. I felt hope, lightness and the swoons!! Oh the swoons!
I loved how Ms. Mohel used a metaphoric rainstorm to describe the chemistry and relationship between Chase and Roselynn . Both beautiful and destructive. Both life-giving and life-taking.
The mystery and intrigue, the hope and the sorrow you are going to get everything in this story!! In fact this is defiantly in the running for my “Best Reads of 2019!”
If you haven’t read anything from this author before, do yourself a favor…GET THIS BOOK! You will not be sorry!
From the moment that they met Rose and Chase had an undeniable connection, it was the kind of connection that you feel deep down in your bones… the forever kind of connection. That connection lead to a marriage filled with passion, undying love, mutual respect, and happiness.
But sometimes life throws an unexpected curve-ball at you and it can implode even the strongest relationship, and turn it into something ugly, something you no longer want to hang on to. Then you are left to pick-up the pieces after the storm, sift through the remnants of your once happy life, and try your best to salvage whats left. And find the courage to let the pain and bad memories wash away, and start anew…
The pages of Rainstorm hold a story about heartbreak, lost love, new beginnings, and forgiveness. This isn’t your typical love story, while it does have some happy moments to it, it also has some very ugly moments too, ones that will break your heart, and maybe even anger you. Watching these to fall for one another was beautiful, but watching them fall out of love seriously wrecked me…I felt every ounce of their pain. I do not want to give too much away about this perfectly penned tale so, I will just say this… it’s a story you shouldn’t miss. It’s words are powerful and emotive, and destined to leave an impression on your heart that you will be feeling long after the last page is turned. Highly recommend!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
RainStorm by Susana Mohel is a second chance romance. This is the first book of Susana’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. This story took me on an emotional roller coaster that I didn’t want to get off. I cannot wait until I get my hands on the second book in the series CloudStorm which will be released December 11, 2019.
You own the sunshine”
Rainstorm has been on my top reads since I heard Susana was going to release it and wow….. honestly I’m just astonished at how good it was.
“I wanted it all. Lust was a powerful weapon. And at that moment it was filling the space between us. Storming. Billowing. A wave I was more than eager to conquer.”
For the last year Rose has been having a silent battle with her self, the one many women battle when their marriage becomes routine. “Am I enough”, “is he bored”, “is it the weight I put on”? All questions no doubtably myself and others have thought when the years tick by in a relationship. While Rose tried to reignite the spark, Chase stays guarded, stoic to her efforts. Silently battling something so strong it is pulling him under the waves of the storm brewing for their marriage.
They only have one choice to make. Fight for it or let it go.
“The man I thought was my soul mate is right here in front of me, but this time he won’t be the one to take the pain away, not when an ocean of distrust separates us.”
The push and pull of the story keeps the pages turning lighting fast. The emotions you’ll feel reading this are literally going to pour out of your eye balls (Cue the tears)
Rose & Chase’s story is not an easy one. The chapters switch between their POV’s in the present and the past, twisting together the story of their lives as husband and wife, making you see the good and bad. It was emotional and tense to say the least. Though there are some light hearted moments, this is one of those stories that will make you cry & you’ll be almost glad it did. I cannot recommend this book enough if your looking for something to touch the soul, because Rainstorm is it.

WHAT HAS REALLY WORKED FOR ME
Addictiveness: 4/5 This wasn’t an easy read. It was emotional, intense, real! I felt the need to breath a little. The story really resonated with me, but it wasn’t a one sitting kind of read. As addictive as chocolate chip cookies!!!
Character: hero 3/5, heroine 5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 5/5 Multidimensional characters with multifaceted personalities that felt really believable.
I have really enjoyed Rose and truly connected with her. It was easy to put myself in her place and to feel what she was feeling. I’ve loved how she evolved through her divorce process. She was dealt a horrible hand, and she made the best out of it. She had a little TSTL moment, but who doesn’t? Loved her!!! Real heroine!!!
I’ve liked Chase, I just haven’t loved him. I know he was trying this selfless act, but NO. You cannot be marry for so many years, say you complete love and adore her and not really know this person. He was always thinking and talking about the physical part of their relationship, but at times I felt like he didn’t explore true feelings. His love was huge, but sometimes it felt like he loved an ideal, not a person.
Ariel was everything a best friend should be. She was PERFECT! I hope next book will be hers.
All characters were easy connect and understand, even though with some were tough love!
Cover: art 5/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5 I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. This is amazing art work. In fact, this is a scene from the book. Is sexy but classy at the same time. I love the colors, the font and how everything feels a bit wet, like rain. I love the sentiment this cover gives. I would definitely buy this book by its cover, without reading the blurb.
Freshness: 4/5 This was refreshing. Different then most books out there. The author explored one voice in the present and one voice in the past, this way she gave us a full picture of their marriage. As fresh as mint tea!
Plot: believable 5/5, conflict 5/5, dialogue 3/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 4/5, opening 5/5, pace 3.5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 5/5, twists 5/5 Amazing opening and wonderful ending. Very realistic plot with dialogues a bit too poetic for me. It wasn’t a fast-paced story, because the emotions were intense so, a bit of a struggle a few times. I loved the conflict, I was surprised by the unexpected twist. I’ve enjoyed this, even though it felt a lot. Great level of satisfaction!
Writing Style: 3.5/5 I’ve loved so many things about this book. I really felt a catharsis trough Rose’s emotions. I easily connected with her and lived through her pain. I loved the concept of the story, of starting with a low, to build up to a high. I really liked the book, but the poetic writing didn’t resonated with me a few times. I will definitely keep reading this series and see more from the author.
WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER
Romance: believable 3/5, chemistry 4/5, description 3/5, development 4/5, steam 3/5 This was a love journey. This is the story of how a true marriage works. It has its ups and downs and if you work with the flow you may came back even stronger from a storm. For all the emotions that I felt with this book, I had a problem to connect with the romance and all the poetic writing. I know it must be the author’s writing style, but for sex, flirt and things like that it felt weird for me. Some things I truly prefer in their raw natural state. As hot as jalapeño pepper (medium heat)!!!
MY THOUGHTS
Being married for 22 years with my first love without having ever been through a real rainstorm in my marriage I’ve connected with Rose from the first moment. I was filled with what ifs and what would I have done. This book felt very real and true. A marriage is a work in progress, filled of rainy days. I also loved how Rose grew from that storm and would love to believe that I could too, if my storm ever came.
From one side I had this crazy cathartic experience, from the other my hard time liking the poetic style of writing for physical matters.
I loved the story, but didn’t completely enjoyed it!!!

Would I read more from the author? Yes, I’m interested!
You MAY read this because you follow the author; you SHOULD read this because you like angst romance; you MUST read this for an emotional read!!!!
The cover for this book is gorgeous. It’s what drew me in to wanting to read this story. Honestly though I didn’t connect with the characters at all. I thought the story was ok nothing that really drew me in and griped me. I had high hopes for the story but it just didn’t do it for me.
“Magic gives you the Purpose, but only hard work makes the result tangible. Dreams are meant to be accomplished.”
Rose and Chase two lovers trapped in a storm by one’s doing. Like a Hurricane that is meant to destroy when it hits can these two lovers find solace after the damage is done and the storm has cleared?
Chase is the egotistical man you love to hate, but soon realize that not is all that it seems with him, can he fix what he has broken with the storm he caused or will all be lost in the eye of it? Rose has done all she can but when the hammering of the winds and the torrential rains batter her heart can she pick up the scattered pieces and live again or will she forever be lost?
Susana Mohel is an auto go to author for me, she captured my attention with Whispers of My Skin, and now she has Dazzled me with RainStorm. From page one i couldn’t put this one down, her characters speak to you in a way that tear at your heart, some you wanna kill others you love. The supporting characters are witty and fun loving as well. I am anxiously awaiting so see where she goes with more of the characters in this series and what new ones she introduces us to.
I really liked Rainstorm it would be the first book that I’ve read by Susana Mohel and I can’t wait to read more be her in the future . I loved the way the author wrote this book it was written perfectly and man when we get to the reasoning lets just say my heart hurt . The characters were Likable even when they frustrated me with how they would go about things but over all this was a really amazing couple who love each other fiercely . Along with the hot chemistry they shared the banter between them either had me laughing , fanning myself , and just grinning like a loon . I hope to see more from the characters I want the secondary characters to find their own happy ending . So can’t wait to read more by the author and of the Perfect storm series .
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

My first read by Susana Mohel and I loved it.
Roselynn and Chace’s book is beautiful. It’s not hearts and flowers. It’s emotional and heartbreaking, but it’s also real.
I’m going to confess..I love second chance romances. But for me, when a marriage is over, it’s over. But this story was do beautifully written. I couldn’t put my kindle down.
I’m not going to elaborate much on the story because you have to go blind and feel everything.
Susana, my friend, you are an amazing author and I’m proud of you.
5 Rainstorm Stars!!
It’s a pretty second chances story.
Here we see how Rose and Chase’s marriage is affected by the secrets, those they decide to keep for themselves believing that it’s the best for their mate, however all that goes together until there comes a time when those little “lies by omission” are so heavy that at the end destroy everything.
Now Rose must learn to live trying to please herself, something she was forgetting along the way, and Chase must learn to trust her, and know that she can with both; good and bad things.
Both must discover a complicated lesson, that marriage is not only joy and happiness but sadness and problems they have to face together.
A story that talks about real life, about what it’s to desperately want the well-being of the other person and give everything for it, even our own happiness. A story that teaches us that the greatest sacrifice is not about our happiness but about the happiness of the person we love.
So… recap!!
Rainstorm is just that!! A rain storm of emotions that you will feel in each page of this pretty story!
“Rainstorm took it away”
The performances of Isla Blackthorn & Gregory Salinas is fantastic. You can feel both characters emotions and how stuck they are. I cried when…no spoilers cause its a big scene that will spoil the story. So yes this story made me cry and I got frustrated too. I wanted to grab both their head and smash them together This is when you know the narrators have done a great job on performaning Susan story and bring it to life
Chase & Rose’s relationship is a true love story we see it in the past & present. BUT all of a sudden Chase wants a divorce and we learn why towards the end…no spoilers on the why.
I love her friend / neighbour Ariel. I hope she gets a story cause she a very mysterious character. If it weren’t for this little angel these idiots wouldn’t be together. She gave them a push they needed.
I promise this to you. There is a very happy ending but I won’t spoil how they get there
MUST READ & LISTEN
This is realife love story and love always wins in the end.
I did not have the physical book I only have the audiobook. I like to have both the book and audio. So this was a first for me just the audio and it was wonderful experience
This angst in this book had me devouring every page as quickly as I could because I needed the happy ever after for these two beautiful souls. I adored this romance read and would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a slow burn. Prepare to have you’re heart broken but Susana puts it back together in the best possible way.
Susana has a way of creating a masterpiece that really tugs at your heart with her realistic stories that are easily relatable. This had me laughing and crying since page 1.
This was my first Susana Mohel’s book. This is the first book in The Perfect Storm. This story is original, emotional, intriguing, and captivating. The characters are wonderful. The storyline is heartbreaking, and heartwarming afterward, and filled with twists and turns. Isla Blackthorne and Gregory Salinas did a great job with the narration. If you like emotional romance filled with angst, this one is for you. #AudiobookObsession
The chemistry, sweetness, and twists in plot kept things interesting.
Add in drama and passion and you have a good read.

A story that was much more than I thought it would be. It was interesting and held my attention from the beginning. It was filled with angst mainly due to his actions. It was heartbreaking for her. It was suspenseful for the reader because the results of his actions will determine just what she would do and the author was able to draw out the suspense. Nicely done.

I had a wide range of emotions with this book because one moment I was happy and then screaming at the characters, especially Chase, and then the other I was okay again. I had a hard time with some parts of the story because I couldn’t quite connect with Chase and his decisions but I loved the other characters and I could feel some of their chemistry. The story will put you through the ringer though.
Love this cover. Now when I first started reading it, I put it down and couldn’t get into it (possibly because of all life has thrown at me recently), I gave it a few days and went back to it.
I guess a different day, different vibe and I got caught in the storm that Roselynn and Chase took my protective umbrella from. These two will definitely throw the alphabet of feelings to the reader. You will love/dislike these characters but the curiosity will pull you through. It’s a unique read and my first book from Susana. I liked the style of writing and how the characters were far from perfect. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
The book is a good second chance romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable inspirational romance read.
