They think they’ve lost everything. But then they find each other.
RAINE
I’m the clichéd “poor little rich boy”
I have everything I want, but nothing I need
I get high to escape the lows of my past
Yet there’s no escaping the monster in the mirror
I’ve always been about taking, until I took too much
They paid the price, and it’s a debt I can never repay
So I’m killing myself slowly
… paid the price, and it’s a debt I can never repay
So I’m killing myself slowly
Because I can’t bring myself to end it fast
NOA
I know what it is to have loved and lost
Now I’m slowly picking up the pieces of my life
I should put my needs first, but that’s not me
If someone’s broken I need to fix them
Even if I get hurt along the way
Nobody should feel like they want to die
My love alone wasn’t enough before
So this time I’m determined to be a reason to live

“Unfortunately, the pool of male PAs was pitifully small. Even smaller when I factored in the reality that most of them were of less use than a chocolate condom.”
Thankfully one of my book friends introduced me to MV Ellis books. Taking the chance to read her books has proven to be a very fruitful decision. I’m in awe of her narrative and use of language, it’s descriptive without being too much. I’ve been waiting on Raine’s story for a while but was completely engrossed in his story from the prologue. One only wished I didn’t have to be an adult and attend work or I’d of not put the book up unless I need nourishment.
These characters/gods are such a likeable bunch, you can’t help but laugh at their antics and the banter they share. They may be gods and so far out of my own league, however their flaws make them relatable. It’s a really intelligent move how the characters are connected to this authors other books. She has a way with words and the ability to make you want to know the answers to the little tidbits which are left and the answers can be found in those other books.
Raine’s the artistic one of the group, he’s a little crazy, never sleeps, likes blow, booze and boobs…not necessarily in that order. James’ replacement is ready to start work, but she chose the most inopportune time. Whilst embarrassing for most, Raine is more concerned with the fact that she’s a woman. Since he has created a dilemma for BR&ND, it’s all hands on deck including Noa. He is abrupt, can’t remember her name and found out she may be more helpful than he thought. Seems Noa had an ace up her sleeve.
Noa works for a temp agency and has a month work as Raine’s PA. She tries blending in by dressing conservatively, tried to remain professional and ignore what she just walked into. However she’s not sure if she can fulfil the contract, A) he doesn’t hire good looking female PA’s
B) she’s not sure she can trust herself
After the emergency creative department meeting, where it comes to light that women seem to be a problematic area for Raine. NOA finds herself at her desk doodling while researching online. It appears one mans trash really is another’s treasure. Who knew she could bring the inspiration Raine needed.
You will hate Raine but then you might grow to “like” him
Raine is the second book in the Gods Of The Fifth Floor series by MV Ellis. This is the story of Raine Davies and Noa is very intense emotionally. Raine is an azzhat of the nth degree, one you want to throttle most of the book. But he is also charming and so at times you want to kiss him. Not to leave out he knows what he is doing with the ladies and is a man whore to prove that.
Noa is a sweet and timid young woman but can still stand up for herself and set some boundaries. She has been hired as a temp for one month to be Raine’s Personal Assistant at work.
Raine is horrible to Noa, including calling her just about every male name that starts with “N”. She on the other hand tolerates his behavior and has a quick and sarcastic comeback for him. What happens between them during their one month together is an emotional journey for them both and the reader.
I found this to be a well written and very engaging story. There are times the story is very intense and other times when you laugh out loud because pf the humor and witty banter. The characters are at times frustrating and maddening and at others you want to wrap your arms around them.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Emotional, challenging characters( Raine), good plot are all things that make a good book. You will find all that and more with this series. Book 2 does not disappoint. Raine will have you frustrated at times but you will fall. Noa not Noah comes on the scene and the things get interesting.

This book was everything!!! I wanted to throat punch Raine several times through the story and wanted to shake Noa to wake up but when it’s all said and done this book was great and kept me beyond hooked beginning to end
It Grabbed My attention and focus so strong I could not put it down. A word of advice when you get your copy. Grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You will not be moving until you finish this bad boy here. Remarkable job. Thanks for sharing.
Well written book with lots of suspense. Characters were multi layered and exciting. Took my emotions on a roller coaster journey. Enjoyed reading this book.

A new author to me. I don’t know what I expected but it wasn’t what I thought. This is book 2 and I haven’t read book 1 but I intend to.
This is the story of Noa and Raine, Noa is a hired temp who has been assigned to work with Raine as his PA for a short period of time. Although Noa is sweet and funny, she tries help other heals even though her own past that is riddled with extremely painful moments. Raine is the spoiled rich man who is far too harsh – he doesn’t believe in mistakes or second chances. He is a man whore who sleeps around with tons of women and doesn’t have any problem with his own drug use. Sadly, Raine’s painful past effects his present attitude along with starting to set his future. Raine has everything but is completely unhappy. Rain Is shocked when he sees that Noa is a man by he treats her the same – no special consideration. I loved this read and will go back to the first book and read both again.

I absolutely loved it!! I love the story, the witty comebacks, the cursing, the relationship between the Gods, the new romantic relationship between Noa and Raine, their chemistry and hog scenes. I enjoyed how the book is written. I look forward to the next book in the series.
From the beginning, I didn’t much care for either Raine or Noa. Although I did feel somewhat sorry for her, trying to navigate a new position with his attitude. It wasn’t until the author began to peel back their many layers that I fell in love with them both. He manages to push all of her buttons, leaving her both outraged and fascinated with him. Ned, Nolan, Nero, Niall, Nick, Neil, Neville, Nigel, Nikolei, Niles… He called her every male name beginning with the letter “N”, and I just about fell out of my chair the first time he called her Noa. He has a way of getting exactly what he wants from her, regardless of what it is, feeling like he’s the winner. Funny, though, that she manages the same from him, and also figures out his buttons to push. Their family histories are dark and sad, and their confessions to each other were heartbreaking. I enjoyed Raine’s interactions with his partners. He still manages to mostly get his way at BR&ND, with his I-don’t-give-a-%^&* attitude and his creative genius. I felt like it was a forever for Raine’s story after reading Beck. It was so worth the wait!

FREAKING INTENSE HATE/LOVE STORY!
WOW! This is one really intense hate/love story that will definitely get your blood boiling! Raine is an arrogant, demanding, angry a-hole that takes it out on everyone around him. He had me so angry and frustrated with him that I felt like smashing my kindle. But then at other times he had me in stitches with his antics and the way he handles things. Raine is a top notch bully when he wants to be but he also has a kind heart – you just need to break the ice covering it first.
“You’re not seriously apologizing to me for cursing, are you? You’ve met me, right? I use curse words as punctuation points. They are sentence glitter. Unicorns have sparkles, I have the word fuck. It’s my superpower.”
Noa on the other hand is a very sweet and timid woman. Her interactions with Raine are frustrating and also very combustible. There is a connection between them but it will take some time before they realize it. They are a fantastic couple together. Their story is funny, heartbreaking and at times very steamy.
“Between the creative genius thing, and the arrogant douche thing, he was one of the most interesting people I’d ever met.”
This story had my emotions all over the place. It was definitely one hell of a roller-coaster ride that will kept me on my toes right to the very end. Amazingly written! I can’t wait for the next book in this fantastic series!
Having just picked up some of Ms.Ellis’ books this year I’ve been looking forward to reading more of her books! As soon as I heard about this one I had to pick it up next! The prologue pulled me in and this story had my attention really quickly. I enjoyed this story!
This is the second book of the Gods Of The Fifth Floor series and can be read as a stand-alone. This story was intense emotional and heartbreaking ! I absolutely adored this couple Noa and Raine were truly made for each other , there chemistry was immediate and ignited like a flame to a match ! I loved everything about this book the storyline, the characters the side characters the banter between all the characters this was a story I won’t forget and thank god for that prologue! This is a definite must read and definite 5 stars just make sure to grab some tissues cause your going to need them !

Raine (Gods of the Fifth Floor) by MV Ellis. I enjoyed this story and I thought the characters and plot were well played out. Enduring love story filled with drama, personal conflicts, and strong characters. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Noa and Raine were great together. I enjoyed their story. They may have their ups and downs but they were good for each other, they were made for one another.
I enjoyed this story, it was good.
Raine by MV Ellis is book Two in the Gods of the Fifth Floor Series. This is the story of Noa and Raine.I have read the previous book (Loved it!) so that added to my enjoyment of this one. I did think you could make it a standalone if you really wanted too. Noa is a hired temp who has been assigned to work with Raine as his PA for a short period of time. Noa although is sweet, funny, caring who wants to help other heal has her own past that is painful. Raine is the spoiled rich man who is hard/harsh who doesn’t give anyone breaks, who sleeps around with tons of women and even does drugs. Raine painful past effects his present attitude along with starting to set his future. Raine has everything but yet nothing that is really worth anything. Rain had thought Noa was a man by her name but is surprised that she is a women but he doesn’t give her any breaks more like makes her life worse until the two just can’t stop their feelings. I am such a fan of this author. If you like me like the hard alpha male who has a past hurt that makes his attitude hard but it is soften by a good women than this book if for you. I know I will be hunting down more of her books!
From the first sentence, I was sucked in. I felt already on edge and that’s saying something. The story behind Raine and Noa is emotional and they have baggage but through it all, you also feel the connection and the love between all the characters. It’s not only emotional but funny. I loved the lightheartedness at times. I couldn’t put it down.
Emotional, sensitive and so full of drama! I’ve never hated a character like I did with Raine, but as the story unfolds you will fall for him. Raine is brash, unapologetic and wants everything his way, but when Noa enters his life he doesn’t know what hits him. Their chemistry is steamy, but their journey so full of emotions up and down from start to finish. This storyline wasn’t all roses but what I got out of it was memorable. This was a definite must read!
This is the second book in the Gods of the Fifth Floor series. and the story of Raine, and Noa. When Noa is assigned as Raine’s temporary PA, they have an immediate attraction. This was an entertaining read, steamy, raw, emotional, dramatic, and intense.
First off I don’t know where to start with this review. So I am just going to jump to it. Let’s meet Raine Davies, brash, arrogant, doesn’t give a care about anything unless it affects him. I had a love/hate relationship with him. One minute I was thinking I want to slap you and the next I just wanted to bath in his looks. He was all over the place, but once you find out about his background than you will understand. Then you have Noa, she is sweet with sass, throws it right back at you and she is caring. We don’t find out much about her till much later. However, you will love her because she has a backbone. She doesn’t let Raine walk over her. You will sense the chemistry and it is hot. Be prepared to bawl your eyes out ladies because this book did me in. MV Ellis, you literally broke my heart and I was very upset with you just so you know. Then you made me cry harder!! How is that possible? I know why but I am not spilling the beans. Just trust me when I say that you will love this book.
