I was raised in a motorcycle club. I saw things no little girl should ever see. Did things no little girl should ever do. That was my life and I loved it. The Ravens taught me about family. Loyalty. Even loss. Now I live a different life. I’m no longer part of that family. I’m no longer part of the club. I live a life where I pretend to be the person I am. I put on a show for the world and I’m … and I’m good at it. I’ve perfected it. At least I thought I had. It didn’t take him long to see right through me.
I have a choice to make. Keep playing pretend or finally be who I have always wanted to be.

Who doesn’t like a good biker’s book? I love the thoughts of an alpha male with a soft side. Only problem there is Raiden is a woman with her own mind, agenda, and job to do. When things go as planned, the club her father runs is safe. Then enters a loner with the monkey wrench who distorts everything. One good laid plan will either survive or crumble beneath their feet? In other words you must pick up this book to find out, but I can say I loved this book.
4 stars for Raiden’s Choice by J.L. Leslie. This is the first book in A Raven’s MC series. This is my first book from this author, and I have to say that I am now a fan. “Everything was going as planned and always has. I’m the club’s perfect asset. Unnoticed. Linked to the ADA. Unsuspected. And a stone-cold killer. Only now, I just want to be Raiden Daughtry again.” Raiden is the daughter of the Raven’s MC President and is dating the ADA but why. Raiden is falling for Luka but it could mess everything up. I love how this MC novel focuses on a woman’s roll in the group/MC. I love how strong and bada** Raiden is and she doesn’t flash it around. This book was filled with drama and everything we love in an MC romance. I loved it.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, so I didn’t know what to expect. I will start off by saying, that I loved everything about this book. The story kept me at the edge of my seat, and the sexy times burned up my kindle. Who doesn’t love reading about a hot motorcycle club, protecting their territory. I recommend that you read this book, you won’t be disappointed. Can’t wait to read what comes next.
Last year I found J.L. Leslie and have been slowly reading all of her backlist whenever I’m unsure of what to read because they’re a guaranteed good read. Last week I picked up Raiden’s Choice. I’d heard nothing but good things about this series so I’m not sure why I didn’t start it sooner, but wow. Just wow! This is by far my favorite book from her that I’ve read so far! I didn’t know what to expect going in, but it drew me in from the get go and I flew through it! I just couldn’t put it down- the characters and storyline was engaging from the first page, the pacing was just right, and the chemistry between Raiden and Luka was . It’s not your normal MC book because of just how involved Raiden and if anybody has read an MC romance there’s normally minimal female input or knowledge of what’s going on within the MC. But the brotherhood, the loyalty, and the drama that you expect from an MC romance was still there. I can’t wait to continue with this series!
*WARNING* story contains explicit sexual content
The first page had me confused. It talks of Raiden having relations with Griffin, Griffin is clearly a male name but I thought Raiden was also. So….m/m in an MC book has me a little confused. I finally figured out Raiden is the DAUGHTER of the President and not the son.
Once I got that figured out, things started making a bit more sense. What I liked most about this was that the Pres.’s daughter was not treated like a princess, she took a job too. Although the characters of this one weren’t exactly likeable, they weren’t exactly dislikeable (mostly) either. This story has a lot of twists it though and that kept me turning the pages.
Raiden is a strong independent woman. She grew up in the MC as the club president’s daughter. Her path in life takes a complicated turn when her mother dies. Luka is an MMA fighter that is trying to save his brother. These two meet under complex circumstances. I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this story. A good read.
This author is new to me and the blurb was what initially had me excited to dive into the story. What kept me reading was the excellent writing skills of this author. It’s a first-rate MC which doesn’t pull its punches.
Raiden is tough, a woman who can take care of herself and rarely shows weakness. Growing up with the Ravens MC, Raiden is now distancing herself from their world and works as nurse at a local hospital. However, not everything is as it seems. A twist of fate places her in the path of Luka Varelli, an ordinary guy who is trying to do what he thinks is best to help get his brother out of trouble.
A definite page turner, this is a fast paced story with plenty of action. I love the fact that these characters don’t have all the answers and not everything can be tied up in a neat bow in their world. Amongst all the fighting and brutality, the initial attraction between Raiden and Luka grows stronger and they can’t keep their eyes, or hands, off each other. They’re playing a dangerous game but when they can’t ignore the chemistry any longer the resulting sex between them is most definitely hot and steamy.
Although the relationship between Raiden and Luka is at the heart of this story, there is plenty of MC business and there are fantastic twists and turns I didn’t see coming.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s great to see a strong female character lead a story and I am excited to see what Ms. Leslie and Ravens MC have in store for us next.
At first I had a bit of trouble getting into the flow. Maybe it was so many names thrown at once, but then I started connecting with the story line. Two rival motorcycle clubs can get pretty intense, which it did, but there was also forbidden attraction and the threat of being discovered. The grand finale almost seemed to easy, in the scope of how in depth/detailed the story line was. Overall, I enjoyed Raiden’s Choice and would read more about the Ravens MC.
Great New MC Series: Want More Raiden!
I enjoyed this story and found that it was a bit different from other MC reads; in a good way. The story featured a woman; strong, sassy, intelligent, and bold; as she tried to balance taking care of her MC and being herself. Raiden is an awesome heroine, reading this story I wanted her to be free to become herself more then I wanted her romance with Luka to work out. As a fellow woman, I wanted to watch her bloom and step into her rightful role.
Luka was an interesting character. He was doing what he thought was best to save his brother and that just happens to be joining an MC. Luka came across as a very dedicated man, but a bit naive at times. I liked his character and the fact that the traditional roles of MC life were switched around for Raiden and Luka.
The story line was good, it was about MC wars, and trying to help the people caught in the middle. There was a few story lines to keep track of and not all of them were explained fully. I enjoyed this story for the most part but there were a few issues that I had trouble with. Also, I do believe that the ending was a abrupt and too fast; I wanted more.
My issues with the story are these: Luka betrayed the MC (early on) but the MC President did not seem to have too much issue with this, he stayed on as a prospect and earned his cut in about 2 months (so fast). I felt the story was a bit stilted; there was a lot of explanation but not a lot of action. The ending was too fast, and a lot of the issues/troubles the MC had were not explained well. I also very much disliked the MC President because he never really had any emotions or heart. He treated his daughter terrible and made really bad decisions for the club, and never let anyone into his plans.
Overall, I enjoyed this story and will read the next in the series. I liked the authors writing style and felt that the story flowed well and the story was hard to put down. I look forward to more and maybe some answers to questions I still have.
