The perfect alpha
I think that Raff is my favorite character from the crew of the Vorge so far, although the little teaser at the end of this book sounds promising. I love the way this quite, intense alpha male knows his woman when she falls at his feet. They may be in for a wild ride before they reach their HEA, but it seems like fate to me. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I love Laurann Dohner! Especially her sexy, hot Cyborg series!!
But, omg, I loved this series!! I want a Raff of my own. Lily a beautiful captured human, literally falls at Raff’s feet, and he comes to her rescue!
I really enjoyed this book, it was a well written fast paced alpha alien romance.
Like I’ve said before, these books are too short to have much substance. It could have been epic, but because they’re so short, they’re very shallow and two-dimensional, unfortunately. Still it isn’t terrible and does grab your interest. You just get hugely disappointed there isn’t more substance or depth.
Raff was Cathian’s cousin. An assassin, quiet, he hardly participated in conversations at The Vorge, but had a great loyalty to everyone there. To him, everyone was like family, they protected themselves, but it wasn’t always that way.
In fact, Raff was the Vellar family’s dirty secret.
Among the trylekians there was a code of honor when a male impregnated a female, they had life-lock.
It turned out that Raff’s father, Cathian’s uncle, had his heat when his ship crashed on the planet Gluttren Four (G4), and fed on a female from there, someone of non-pure blood (mix of five races). When he was rescued, he abandoned the pregnant female.
Only many years later Cathian knew about his cousin’s existence, and went to offer his help.
Cathian’s father, however, considered Raff an evil to be wiped out.
When he returned to the planet that was born to hunt down his mother’s last killer, Raff met Lilly, a human who was fleeing her captivity as a sex slave. He decided to help her and was persecuted as well, and needed the help of his friends.
While awaiting the arrival of The Vorge, Raff fed on Lilly and they were bonded (even though Lilly didn’t know it).
Lilly worked on a ship cataloging alien races when the ship was attacked and the women kidnapped. She had family on Earth, in Nevada. They were not rich in money, but rich in love.
Tired of being fooled by boyfriends, she decided to travel off-Earth and go on adventures, but did not imagine that the adventure would be kidnapped, drugged and sold.
After her meeting with Raff, she learned that Earth had become a forbidden planet for being in favor of slavery, so they couldn’t go there, but he would help her communicate with her family.
3 stars
I had been waiting for Raff’s story from book 1. Raff was silent and usually kept to himself and he did a little bit of brooding in previous books so I knew I was going to like him.
The story starts out with him back on his home planet with lots of bad memories. Everything took off when he saw his heroine. I loved it from page one and recommend it to everyone.
Love it! Raff is my favorite.
Loved the story. I’ve been waiting on Raff’s story.
The reason for the low rating is because these authors want to put out a great book but they don’t have a proofreader. I wish they would slow down a little bit and do a better job at either proofreading or get a proofreader.
