Is this nosy trash panda a sleuth or a suspect? Lately my life has seemed pretty perfect—great house, great gig as my own boss, great new boyfriend, and the world’s most awesome talking cat. Turns out I shouldn’t have let my guard down… it’s coming from the sticky-fingered raccoon who lives under my front porch. I have no doubt he’s robbing his clients, since he’s stealing from mine, too.
Things go from irritating to downright dangerous when he foists a little trinket from my attic, one that suggests dark secrets and spells big trouble for my beloved Nan.
I need to learn more, but that’s not going to be easy since the person of interest lives under the same roof. Can I trust this raccoon racketeer with something so dear? Unfortunately, I haven’t got any other options.

Raccoon Racketeer by Molly Fitz is the seventh novel in the Pet Whisperer PI series. Angie Russo learns that Pringle, their resident raccoon, has sticky fingers. When Angie gets her first PI client, she ends up uncovering a family secret. Unfortunately, Nan does not wish to talk, but Angie is determined. Angie and Octo-Cat team up with Pringle to dig up the answers she seeks. Raccoon Racketeer is a humorous and entertaining tale. It can be read as a standalone for those who have not read the other novels in the series. Personally, I believe it is better to read the books in order. This way you get to find out about Angie and how she can speak to animals. Each book builds upon the previous one plus they are fun to read. I thought Raccoon Racketeer was nicely written and the story moves at a quick pace. There is one amusing incident after another. Pringle is a wily raccoon and who knew that raccoons could read. Nan really should not have given him the origami book. I like how the author makes each character unique. Humans and animals alike. Nan is an over-the-top personality. I wish I had a fraction of her gumption and energy. Angie does not stand a chance against Nan, Octo-Cat, Pringle and Paisley (such a sweetie). She is lucky to have Charles in her life. There is one thing, though, that was not addressed (spoiler) and I hope we get the answer in the next book (something Pringle extricated from the attic). I found Raccoon Racketeer to be a delight to read and I am eager to the next story this amusing series. My favorite scene was Angie in the electronics store. It cracked me up. The ending was perfect. Raccoon Racketeer is a comical cozy mystery with a shrewd raccoon, a flier foul up, a serious secret, missing mail, and entertaining electronics.
Angie is back with Nan, Paisley & Octo-Cat. The P.I. business has it’s first case. Who is stealing mail and damaging mail boxes? Now important papers are missing from Angie’s home. This book like all the rest, is a fast and fun read. All the character’s and animals are so lovable. oh no, this one has a little drama. I recommend this book.
This is a cute and quick cozy mystery, with some fun characters.. Love the raccoon!
I voluntarily received a copy of this book for an honest review.
I have been provided with a copy of Raccoon Racketeer by the author for an impartial review. This is the seventh book in the brand-new Pet Whisperer P.I. series. I just loved this story and this wonderful family that I just can’t get enough of. I just loved getting to go along on their journey and I just didn’t want to put it down. It was so easy to get lost in and I highly recommend reading this title. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and see more of these wonderful characters.
What a crazy raccoon! Can’t wait to see what happens next.
I love Molly Fitz Pet Whisperer series and Raccoon Racketeer was no exception! We meet old friends Angie (who can talk and hear animals), Nan, Octo-cat, Paisley the Chihuahua and even the bad-tempered racoon named Pringle. Angie and Octo-cat need to solve another mystery thanks to Pringle. Pringle stole the flyers that Angie had put on cars and various other places to advertise her P.I. business. When she found the flyers in Pringles home under the porch, she found a mystery that she went on an adventure that would cause trouble between Angie and her Nan. Can ties be fixed? Will Angie and Octo-cat solve this mystery?
A Delightful Cozy Mystery with Talking Animals Galore!
I just finished reading Raccoon Racketeer (Pet Whisperer P.I. Book 7) by Molly Fitz. I have enjoyed all the books in this series, including this one. These books are a new genre for me, and I find them lighthearted and fun. I really like the animals and how their personalities come out. As a long time dog and cat person, I have to laugh at the animal antics and the typical differences between dog and cat. This is a fast and entertaining read with some good animal takes and mysteries in the mix.
Another fun instalment for this great series. I liked the inclusion to the team of Pringles the raccoon, as you never know what he is going to get up to next but this did mean Octo-cat didn’t play a very big part in the mystery. The animal antics and relationships between there humans is what makes it so much fun and funny. The mystery is just a side plot and not the main focus even though the story is because of it, this just means no suspects to question or bad guys to chase. A light hearted easy to read cozy.
Having given up her job to start a private detective agency, Angie and Octo-cat are looking for customer’s. When flyers left all over town doesn’t produce the influx of ringing phones they reluctantly take on a pro-bona case, to track down missing mail and find out who is damaging the nail boxes. It is not long before they catch the theif red handed but as well as stealing the mail the culprit is also stealing secrets to start his own P.I business. And he has a big one on Nan! Does Angie and Octo-cat really want to hope that can of worms?
The next book is obviously going to continue from where this book left off as there is a few unanswered questions that I look forward to solving.
This was an entertaining story. Angie discovers the raccoon living under her porch has been stealing things, then finds out he is exposing secrets she didn’t even know about her Nan. The raccoon in this story has a very different character than the worshipful Octo-Cat super fan he has been in earlier stories in this series. There’s a lot going on in this story and it kept me reading on to discover what would happen next. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more books in this series.
One of this writers best. If my neighborhood racoon could speak I’m positive these would be his or her very words and personality. Thanks Molly. Another great read.
Angie Russo has her first case as a private investigator. It seems someone is damaging mail boxes and taking mail from her mail carrier’s route. And while Angie was talking to her someone broke into her truck and stole some things. When Angie discovers the culprit not everything goes as smoothly as she would like.
I really enjoyed this book. You’ll love getting to know the characters both animal and human. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order.
CAn Angie with the help of Octo-cat and Paisley reveal a very hidden secret? Nan has kept a secret that will change Angie and her mom’s live forever but they will face the truth with love and family.
Not 1 of my favorites. I liked hangin out with Angie, Charles, Nan, Octo-Cat, Paisley, and even Pringle, but it seems the mail lady Julie was a side note thrown in. Besides the thief, nothing really to do with Pet Whisperer PI. Just very different from the other books in series, that I’ve for the most part really enjoyed.
Wonderful story that is humourous. Leaves you shaking your head. Joy to read.
This was a fun book, with real investigating; it was right up there with the best from the series. Octo-Cat is old self (still hate that nickname; why not Octavius?), Paisley behaves just like I would expect a Chihuahua, and Pringle, the naughty raccoon, is an amazing character and exactly how I would imagine a talking raccoon to act.
However, the Apple product placement reared its ugly head again, and there were a couple of unfortunate linguistic stumbles:
“At what point do we give up on our entrepreneurial enterprise?” (Huh!) and “Hey,” the raccoon whined. “I resemble that remark.” (try “I resent that remark.”).
It was a solid 4 stars, I really enjoyed the book, but the author chose to have one of the characters make a morally reprehensible choice, which I cannot forgive. I do not hold the character responsible for that action – if this makes sense – but the author. It was just wrong, as well as illegal; it’s called kidnapping. It was an extremely puzzling and disturbing plot twist; I hope the next book will make this more palatable and that some past action will make it justifiable. And for that unsavoury turn, I took a whole star out of my rating.
Short but funny story in the series. Angi and Octo-cat find clues to a secret that her Nan has kept hidden for years. Pringle the raccoon living under their porch is stealing things. Nan reluctantly agrees to tell Angi the secret but worries that things will change. The next book will let us know.
This series has been such a fun loving, crazy shenanigans, full of laughter adventure for each animal that comes her way. Pringle the raccoon will lighten your day as you flip through each page of the book and sometimes make you wish you were in the stories with them. One of my favorites so far and I cant wait to see who shows next. Get your copy today and be ready to smile and laugh.
This is another cute story in this series with Angie Russo, the Pet Whisperer P.I. and her growing menagerie of animals. I really liked the raccoon named Pringle and the trouble he was creating for everyone. I think this is my new favorite book in this series. Each one is so different from the book before. I can’t wait to see what the next one will bring.
Molly Fitz does it again, writes another outstanding read! The characters are fun and quirky and the animals just make you laugh at their outlandish behavior. I really enjoyed this story with a secret that is huge. The author takes the reader on a joy ride with finding clues to Nan’s big secret. Life for Angie is about to get a lot more interesting. I’m so excited for the next book, I can’t wait to find out more about the revealed secret. Such a fun and enjoyable story!
Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
After reading this story I understand better why my husband threatened to fire any employee who brought me a baby raccoon. Pringles is a special raccoon, at least he thinks so. I love how Molly Fitz keeps adding to the number of animals, Angie is accountable for or maybe it is to. This is a fun story with mystery, though thankfully no dead body this time. Angie, Nan, Charles, Cal, Octo-cat, Paisley, and Pringles all play a role in this story. I look forward to the next one.
