An inspiring story of a brave woman who goes west to find love and start a new life!
This is a quick book to read it is one that is well written and it held my interest throughout. This book is part of The Alphabet Mail-Order Brides series and is Quinlan Clark and Will Adams’ story I know I will be reading this book again. I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Quinlan’s story is a mix of emotions with both tears and joys as she makes a life out west as a teacher and a mail order bride. Will, her bridegroom is a patient man with a gentle soul and a protective streak. A man that dreams are made of if you are a mail order bride. And there is no forgetting his mother for fun and humor. A beautiful story of life in the west that depicts the strength that is needed and felt as Will and Quinlan find their way to a HEA. I received a copy of “Quinlan’s Quest” and voluntarily leave my honest opinion. A story for all ages, 5 Stars!
Going back in time can be so interesting and I love that Ms McDaniel not only takes us to a different time than we live in but throws in some interesting facts and information that makes the story so much more interesting. Wonderful characters and energy that make it a wonderful way to spend your day with Quinlan’s Quest.
Sweetly Charming, emotionally engaging and exciting romantic adventure filled with so much passion.. really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to more.
She has so many reasons not to trust men and he is as ruff and tumble as they come but a true protector at heart… loved it!
Couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. Quinlan stole my heart from page one. Will did too, and boy did his mother have me chuckling. What characters his parents are, and they reminded me of me and my husband. A great addition to this series. It gets better with each book, making me anxious to read more. Book gifted to me.
After living most of her life at The Wigg School and Foundling Home, Quinlan has been strongly encouraged to step out of her comfort zone and become a mail-order bride and start a school. Will Adams’s mother has decided he needs a wife and she needs grandbabies. This is a marriage based on secrets and if Quinlan and Will cannot get over the past, this marriage will not work.
Although this book is part of the Alphabet Mail-Order bride series, you can read it as a stand alone.
A great story set in Zenith, Texas set among the Lipstick and Lead ladies.
I received an ARC from the publisher for purposes of an unbiased review.
Quinlan’s story is a mixture of Lipstick & Lead and Mail Order Bride with the suspense of ‘when’s the bad guy going to show up?’. Quinlan was likable for her trepidation at leaving the orphanage after being in residence for so many years, only to travel to Texas to marry a stranger. And poor Will! His mother had placed the ad for a bride, read all the letters, and selected Quinlan from the replies because she was a teacher. Luckily, Will took one look and decided she would do. The honeymoon period brought a few trials, but I was pleasantly surprised the their physical attraction was was allowed to evolve gradually.
The characters were nicely developed. I enjoyed the Lipstick & Lead gals and got a kick out of Will’s mom and her rush to have a grandchild. I mourned the loss of a friend and cheered the ending. You will enjoy this quick-moving story and look forward to the next, as I did.
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Quinlan’s Quest is part of a new multi-author series The Alphabet Mail-Order Brides . This story has the two main characters with some major emotional baggage. This author handles these issues with great empathy, highly recommend
this lovely read. I was inspired to read more of the series and enjoying them.
Quinlan’s Quest: A Lipstick and Lead Story
The Alphabet Mail Order Brides
book 17
by Sylvia McDaniel
Quinlan Clark was taken to the orphanage, when tragedy and violence took her from an abusive home. Out of something so violent the orphanage became her safe haven. Her memories at the orphanage with her friends were the best thing to ever happen to her. Now her live will be turned upside down. She’s to become a mail order bride and all the violence of her childhood have come to haunt her. She replies to a man from Zenith Texas and hopes her life will be better than her mother’s.
Will Adams has been chasing the man that needlessly killed his brother. For ten years he’s been living a life that his family had no idea about. After his mother’s many request that he settle down and give her grandkids, he reluctantly agrees to settle down. Unbeknownst to him that she had already found him a bride, and that she would be arriving in the next few days. Fearing for the worst Will is taken aback at the beautiful woman that he meets at the train station. But their life takes turn when Will’s past comes knocking at the newlyweds door.
This was an amazingly touching story, fast paced and intriguing with secrets that keep you at the edge of your seat. A vividly portrayed western romance. I also enjoyed the secondary characters, and the witty dialogue. A pleasure to read Sylvia McDaniel romance weather Contemporary or Historical she has the magical gift to transport you in the books world.
I HIGHLY recommend all of her work.
I recieved a complimentary copy from the author. This is my unbiased opinion.
After a tragedy as a child, Quinlan is raised in an orphanage. Some may think that would rough but it was probably the best thing that could have happened to her. She is just one of many ladies who have become teachers and are now about to be sent out into the world to teach other children and become mail order brides. Quinlan can’t help but worry that a marriage to anyone much less a stranger would be a nightmare like her parents marriage. Would her soon to be husband be abusive and an alcoholic like her father?
I really loved reading this book. Quinlan is a skittish teacher with very good reason to be. Her soon to be husband wasn’t to thrilled that his mother acted for him and ordered him a bride. But it is done now and he wants to make his mother happy. Will worries for her safety. He plans to protect her at all costs. Can they find love together? Will Quinlan get over her fear of men?
