Quiet Man is a novella in the Dream Man series, but it also connects with the Rock Chick series.
Mo Morrison is the strong, sexy, silent type. Still waters run deep with this alpha. He’s one of Hawk Delgado’s commando’s who is very capable, lethal and loyal. Underneath his brawny exterior is a complex yet sweet, loving, and protective man, with a heart of gold, who has his own insecurities and vulnerabilities.
Lottie McAllister is the headline act at Smithies club, she’s an exotic dancer who whilst sassy is also sweet and not afraid to speak her mind, and is determined to do what makes her happy.
Lottie and Mo’s story is a sexy, fun, and humorous insta-love story although their relationship is slow to burn, but when they get together the love scenes are full of heat, and incredibly sexy and steamy.
Many past favourite characters make cameo appearances throughout the plot and we get updates into their lives and families.
This title has just whet my appetite for Kristin Ashley’s new Dream Series to be released next year.
Lottie Mac finally got her story and it was fantabulous!!!! Lottie has watched her sister, Jet, and all the other Rock Chicks live out their HEA and now Lottie is ready for the next chapter in her life. When Smithie receives a letter from a stalker threatening Lottie, Hawk is called in to help deal with the threat. Mo is the man that Hawk puts on Lottie. Scary, huge, super quiet, and just what the doctor ordered for Lottie. But the need to maintain a professional distance is needed, will the two be able to keep their hands to themselves?
HOLY HOTNESS! So, first off there is so much more than what I recapped. I loved getting to see the Hot Bunch and Tex again. If you haven’t been introduced to the Rock Chicks, or the guys from the Dream Man series, you def should check them out. I loved every bit of the drama, the naughty bits and the danger. This was a shorter book than we normally get from KA but it packed just as much punch. I give this 5 stars.

Quiet Man is a standalone novella and a part of the 1001 Dark Nights series. This is a great introduction to the Dream Man series, which is written by author Kristen Ashley. It’s labeled as book # 4.5 in the series, but again I want to stress that it is not necessary to read the other books before beginning this one. Although, I think you will fall in love with the characters, like I have, and want to check out the other ones.
Kristen Ashley is definitely one of my favorite authors, and she writes amazing stories that are all filled with not only sexy alpha men, but also strong female characters. So, as soon as I saw Quiet Man on my Kindle, I dropped everything and jumped right in. And let me tell you, it was fabulous to be back with all my favorite characters, and Lottie and Mo’s story was everything I hoped it would be. One of my favorite aspects was how Ms. Ashley was able to connect the dots between all of her series. It was simply amazing, and I loved every word of it!

Amazing!!! Totally KA!
I fell in love with Lottie in the Rock Chick series but I love her even more now, she is balls to the wall, what you see is what you get, loaded with confidence and sass, smart as a whip and has a take no prisoner personality.
Mo, OMG did I fall hard for him. He is quieter than most of KA’s heroes but no less Alpha. Totally badass and HOT!
I loved this story and cannot wait for the first book in her new series.
This book was Amazing! Kristen Ashley takes us back to several of her older series and bundles them nicely together to give us a classic KA story. Rock Chicks and and the Dream Man series have united to bring us Lottie and Mo’s story and the beginning of a new Dream series.
If you have read the Rock Chick Series you will remember that Lottie is Jet’s sister and a dancer at Smitty’s. Lottie has decided to make some changes in her life because she’s not getting any younger and she share’s her thoughts with Smitty only Smitty is hiding something from her and she doesn’t know it…yet.
When Smitty receives a letter laying out all of the disgusting things that someone would like to do to Lottie there is only one thing he can do…. “If you couldn’t call a badass… Then it was far from second best to call a commando.”
When Hawk finds out Lottie has a stalker he knows there is only one man for the job, MO! There isn’t supposed to be chemistry between the two he’s there for a job and nothing else, well hell you know that’s not going to happen especially when he ticks off every box she has for her Dream Man.
The chemistry is wonderful, the writing is great. This is what made me fall in love with Kristen Ashley’s books to a tee. There are so many reasons for me to recommend this book to readers. If you love the Dream Man series or the Rock Chick series this is a MUST READ. If you are new to Kristen Ashley, first I’m surprised but I’m sure there are a few newbies out there so this is a great place to start. This is part of the 1,001 Dark Nights Series as well, and each book is created to give readers old and new a story they may not have otherwise have gotten and I for one am very thankful for that because I LOVED Lottie and Mo’s story! This was a great way to tie two series together and start a new one as well.
Happy Reading!!!
Have to say it was so fun reading this book of Lottie and Mo. A stripper and a bodyguard, seems like a joke but man Kristen Ashley doesn’t hold any punches. These two are opposite of each other yet they have each other’s back at every way. I loved that Mo seems so serious but when it comes to Lottie we see a fun, laid back side nobody has seen before including his family. Kristen Ashley not only shows us these two but we see the Rock Chicks and including some of the sexiest Hunky men. This was a great addition to the series and cannot wait to see who is next. All in all Lottie is one bad ass woman and perfect for Mo in ever way from making him laugh to finally seeing that he can have love in his life forever.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
This book was a wild ride and one I have been waiting to read ever since Kristen Ashley said she would be writing this story. I love Lottie and Mo’s story. Thank you Kristen Ashley and I can hardly wait to read the new series!
5 Stars
Suspenseful, funny and at times jaw dropping, this novella is just what you need. With appearances from the Rock Chicks as well as a boatload of other family “not only by blood” there are moments that will make your heart stutter and cause you to laugh so loudly your neighbors will hear you! In the end, Lottie and Mo’s story will keep you turning pages as quickly as possible and just a heads up, be sure to turn up your A/C before starting as well!

I was THRILLED to hear about this new series, especially because Lottie gets her HEA! And Mo is just full of commando goodness. LOVE these two together & love what their being together is going to mean for the other guys under Hawk’s command.
This story has suspense, steam, and all the zany goodness you can imagine. Both sets of family & friends are a hoot & I enjoyed this story from beginning to end. 10 happy happy stars!!! : )
DNF.
I have read almost every KA book that she has published and my favorite characters of her’s have always been Deke and Justice. But … I do believe that Mo and Lottie have dethroned them!
Mo is intense! Quiet and contained, but total badass vibe that makes him fit in well with the rest of Hawk’s crew. But what I really liked about his character was how he treated Lottie. Yes, he did have a moment of jerkitis (to protect himself), but that turned quickly and then it was all about Lottie again. Totally swoon worthy.
And Lottie … holy hades was she so much more than I thought. Totally put together and confident in herself. But she still has a vulnerability that she keeps tightly contained. For her it is all about family and protecting those that she loves. But Mo is everything that Lottie wants and she makes no bones about that.
Overall impression, FREAKING AMAZING! I have read this at least 10 times and every time still feels fresh and I still smile throughout the book. I really liked the characters and loved seeing some of the older ones make appearances in the book. And what makes this book even better, it sets the intro to another set of badasses that KA is going to write about and the are totally Hot Bunch material.
So, two thumbs up and happy reading!!
Charlotte “Lottie’ McAllister is ready for the “one” to appear but it doesn’t look like that will be anytime soon. Deciding she is going to make her own path she notifies Smithie, her boss, who puts everything in perspective for her. What Smithie doesn’t tell her though is that his star dancer is getting threatening letters and he seeks help from Hawk Delgado who assigns Mo Morrison to her. Mo will be her constant companion until the creep is caught.
Lottie though wants Mo. Mo doesn’t want to go there, not because he is not attracted to Lottie, he is but he knows he would lose his heart to her and then where would it leave him. Lottie though wants Mo forever and decides he will be hers regardless. Mo draws a line when the man who is threatening her is caught, they will take the next step but will they find him in time?
This was great. Lottie exudes confidence and Mo initially is not sure what to make of her. I liked that Mo was the silent broody type who tries his hardest to keep it strictly professional. Excellent read, everyone is in it and I really enjoyed seeing how Eddie and Jet were doing.
I have been an uber fan of both the Rock Chicks and the Dream Men series forever and the fact that this story was a combination of both? OMG! Sign me up!! I loved Lottie and Mo and their connection. It was absolutely amazing and everything I love in my KA stories!!
I was a big fan of Lottie since first meeting her in Jet’s book. She was strong, kind, sassy and always ready for some Rock Chick fun. I am obsessed with her and could not get enough of her. And Mo? Mr. Tall, Dark, Handsome and built like a linebacker? YES please. I love love love that he worked for Hawk and was a Commando. He was strong, protective, hot af and just delicious. I am so obsessed with this story and their love!! It was epic! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula
I love Kristen Ashley’s books, I do. Sweet Dreams and Walk Through Fire are two of my favorite books ever. So when I had an opportunity to read her newest release, Quiet Man, of course, I signed up as quickly as possible. Sadly, I can’t give the review I wish I could.
KA doesn’t write bad books, and that’s not what Quiet Man is, instead it felt a lot like a repeat of what we have already seen from her in every Rock Chick book she has written. I found myself excited about saying hello again to old characters but bored with the fact that it was still the same thing we had seen before.
My disappointment in Quiet Man won’t stop me from picking up KA’s next release, we all know she’ll deliver again.
OMG, this book is such a great time! I laughed and swooned, and I was in KA fangirl heaven as the Rock Chicks crossover with the Dream Manseries, and I loved every moment of it! And warning – I highlighted like a lunatic while reading, so this review is going to be quote heavy.
This book is promo’d as a Dream Man series novella. Honestly, I thought it was more aligned with the Rock Chick books, but there’s a healthy dose of both as Jet’s feisty sister, Lottie (who can forget that epic sister slap-fight in Rock Chick Rescue), hooks up with Mo – a commando who works for Hawk (hero from Mystery Man).
Lottie is bold, confident, and completely together. She has made a great life for herself as a headlining dancer for Smithie in his strip joint, and she is proud and unapologetic about who she is and what she does. And I love that! But her job has brought her the wrong kind of attention, and when Smithie receives a threatening letter targeting Lottie, he calls in Hawk and his crew to take care of the situation.
“You’re gonna need to throw yourself on a grenade for me?” I whispered.
“I need you to trust that I’d throw myself on a grenade for you.”
That was easy. I did that already. I mean, he was wearing cargo pants. And a gun.
Mo is an ex-Army man who works with Hawk. He is the one assigned to protect Lottie – and that’s 24/7 protection, never leaving her sight, kind of protection. He moves in to her space, he follows her to work, and he takes his job seriously. But he can’t deny just who it is that he’s protecting and the challenges that it brings.
“She was on the stage, busting out a performance to Shakira’s “Loca”, and making Mo, for the first time since he started with Hawk, wish he had another job.
Honest to fuck, if he managed to get through the whole night, and all three of her feature sets (this was number two), without jumping off the stage and punching every motherfucker watching her in the throat, it’d be a miracle.”
The attraction between Lottie and Mo absolutely sizzles off the page. They want each other, they don’t hide it, and they talk openly and honestly about it. And in a shift from the usual KA romance, it’s the heroine who is the aggressor in the relationship, boldly going after what she wants and declaring it so, even when Mo is throwing up roadblocks.
“Let me make myself perfectly clear. I like you, Mo.” She leaned closer. “A lot”.
“We are not going there,” he grunted.
“We so are.”
“We’re not.”
She put a hand to his chest and her eyes warmed as her voice went soft and sweet. “We are, baby.”
But that’s not to say that Mo is a passive member of the relationship because, as you would expect from a KA hero, he is wonderfully alpha in a way that sends shivers down your spine.
“I make you mine, officially,” he continued, “no one ever has you again, Lottie, but me.”
But Mo has been hurt in the past and he has his own reservations about diving into something that he knows would be life-changing for both of them. Plus, he refuses to go there while he is protecting her, so we get this delicious forbidden situation that builds the chemistry and the sexual tension brilliantly!
“She was holding it back.
And it was tearing her up.
She was nearly bursting at the seams to give all she had to Mo.
And he wanted it.
Bad.”
When it happens for them, it’s all on, and it’s hot, intense and emotional with a raw honesty that I loved! They have issues to work through, but it’s functional, and they just get on with, effortlessly inserting themselves into each other’s lives, and I love that we got to watch that happen for them.
“She’s under your skin,” Hawk murmured.
“She’s not under my skin. I sleep on her couch. I guard her. But when this is over, she’ll be in my life. My choice? For the rest of it. So that’s not under my skin. She’s just going to be a part of me.”
And the cameos! As a longtime KA fangirl, I was in heaven as we get scenes with the entire Hot Bunch (all together), Hawk, Mitch and Brock, and of course Tex and Smithie. And all of it was pure gold! I love these boys so much, and their alpha protectiveness is on full display as they take Lottie’s back.
“Can you stop talking about fucking Mo?” Lee asked angrily.
“I’m a big girl, Lee,” I shot back.
“You’re every man in this room’s little sister, Lottie,” he returned. “So as such, can we please stop talking about you fucking anybody.”
And we also get an introduction to the new band of KA men – Hawk’s hot, badass commandos who will have their stories told in the upcoming Dream series! This is a really tight-knit bunch with a great dynamic, and with Lottie planning to set them up with her friends, I’m so excited to read more about them.
“Can I ask when my woman became all of your woman?” Mo requested to know from behind me, and he didn’t sound happy.
“Until we get our own,” Mag answered breezily. “You know sister wives? We’re like brother husbands.”
“No you aren’t.”
There was my man’s Brook No Argument Tone.
“Without the benefits of course,” Mag added.
I loved this book. It’s a novella, but it’s a KA-length novella which makes it about the length of an average book. It’s funny and fun with a lot of heart and a fantastic romance, and I absolutely loved it!
5 stars!
This 255 page novella was reminiscent of the original Kristen Ashley writing style that many of her fans fell in love with a little over a decade ago. With frequent mention of The Rock Chick and Dream Man characters, I definitely felt a vibe of connection to those two series, especially since some of them made cameo appearances. As a huge fan of both, it was a special treat for me to get to spend time with them again. Even if you haven’t read those books, you’ll get a good, general idea how close knit and crazy protective they are of each other. Since the main gist of this book is centered around Mo and Lottie, the main couple, it won’t overly matter if you haven’t met the sub-characters before. What you won’t see here is any of the Chaos MC crew, though there is a brief reference to them. .
Likely due to page constraints, aspects frequently pointed out in this author’s work were reigned in. Lengthy, descriptive narratives regarding home decor and clothing along with fewer, shorter smex scenes come to mind. They are still there but appear less frequently. The steaminess factor doesn’t kick in until late in the book. As usual, the author doesn’t hold back in that area. It will be up to you to decide if you find those explicit scenes smexy, romantic, or simply just TMI (too much information)/crude.
Lottie instantly wanting to be in a relationship with this Hulk type leading man at first sight sped things up considerably. This gigantic, mountain of muscle was equally smitten with her, as well. Seriously, every time Mo was described I half expected to be told he was green and the word “smash” should never be said around him. Hey, that is not a take down, folks. I’m a fan of that character as well. What Mo did have were insecurity issues he had to work through before he could let loose and let love with Lottie take the lead. From the first time he appeared to the last, this guy is a keeper. Make no mistake about that.
Lottie makes it quite clear she loves her job as a stripper and thinks it is a great occupation. She doesn’t want to be around anyone who feels differently. Smithie’s club is presented as an always sold out/packed house when Lottie takes the stage like she’s performing on Broadway…just upside down a lot, mostly naked, and on a stripper pole. She doesn’t comprehend why any man would feel uncomfortable about his woman putting her dancing ability and basically naked body (panties stay on) on display for others to enjoy. Mo briefly makes his reservations known but seems to quickly and quietly start keeping those thoughts to himself. I’m not sure if Lottie convinced him to do so, or if he simply knew it was an argument he could never win with her so let it go.
The stalker drama simmers in the background and gets dealt with. There are several new characters introduced that are comrades of Mo that are obviously going to be matched up with specific OW. I’m not sure if this author will get around to making that happen. After all, I’m still waiting on Woody and Maggie’s HEA to be written (Colorado Mountain series). We are told in the epilogue one manho type friend of Mo’s is getting married to a friend of Lottie’s. So maybe she’ll keep adding to this series. She’s certainly left the door wide open to do so.
Title: 1001 Dark Nights: Quiet Man, Series: Dream Man (Book 4.5), Author: Kristen Ashley, Pages: 255, stand-alone but part of a series, loves her job as a stripper heroine, alpha protective/insecure good guy hero, not a manho, stalker drama, no OW/OM drama, no love triangle, no cheating, a couple very graphic, explicit smex scenes late in book.
Book 1 – Mystery Man
Book 2 – Wild Man
Book 3 – Law Man
Book 4 – Motorcycle Man

(I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I was not given any payment or compensation for this review, nor is there any affiliation or relationship between this reviewer and the author/publisher/PR firm.)
I absolutely love KA’s Dream Man Series so I was super excited about this book and was not disappointed. The intensity between this couple had me along for the ride and I couldn’t get enough. Let me tell you, Mo could be my bodyguard any day. I absolutely loved his protective, sexy ways. I even really dug his quiet communication. What til you meet his sisters and you will totally understand. Lottie is sweet and feisty and I would want her to have my back any day! She is awesome and we would be fast friends. You need to read this book for the supermarket scene, the mega hot best friends of Mo’s, and the zany sisters alone. Quiet Man is downright sexy, laugh out loud funny, sweet, loving and wicked hot with a splash of danger.

This book was everything. Strong women who just wants to find the right man to love. A man of few words who needs a women to be strong for him. I so need more of Lottie and Mo. Such a great read !!
Really what is there to say except I adored this book. I loved being back in the Dream Man world and having it tied in so closely to the Rock Chick world, two of my favorite places to lose myself in.
Lottie and Mo are burning up the pages right from the get go, whether it be from their banter or their steamy scenes, I loved these two together and just couldn’t get enough of them. I loved how fiercely independent Lottie is and how she isn’t about to let anyone look down on her for her choices. Mo, well, he’s just one of my absolute favorite type of male heroes, the broody quiet alpha guy who isn’t really a jerk even though occasionally it slips out of him. Thank goodness Lottie isn’t going to put up with any of that and sets him right back in place when he decides to play the jerk card.
I do think this leaned more to the Rock Chick side of things so I am surprised a little that it is considered a Dream Man book. Both worlds definitely collide which I love, but overall we see more of the Rock Chick family than we do the Dream Man one, though I am totally and absolutely stoked about where this book is leading us for the Dream Man world.
As is usual with a novella I can’t talk too much with out spoiling things because they move at a fast pace but just know that this is an un-put-down-able. These characters are going to suck you in and keep you there until you take that final step with them into their HEA, and y’all I was bawling the happiest tears in those big shoed final steps. <3
Grab this one up and while I recommend whole heartedly that you go back to both the Rock Chick and Dream Man series and start them if you haven't, I can tell you as with all 1,001 Dark Nights novellas you will not be spoiled to start at the beginning after reading this one.
Kristen Ashley once again did an incredible job of pulling you back into the peripheral worlds of both Rock Chicks and Dream Man series. Her writing was spot on with the right amount of humor and tension.
Spending time with Lottie, Mo, Hawk, Smithie, crazy Tex, and the Hot Bunch was certainly enjoyable, but I personally feel Kristen is a full-length book kind of author in order to flush out her characters to their fullest. I didn’t get the normal emotional heart clench I do when I’m reading a KA book that I’m hungry for.
It was good. It was what I needed. And in order to prepare myself for the upcoming Dream Girl series I’d recommend it for sure.
