A Dream Man-Rock Chick Crossover Novella!!
In Quiet Man we get the story of Lottie McAllister, Jet Chavez’s (Rock Chick Rescue) little sister and Mo Morrison, one of Hawk Delgado’s Commandos.
Lottie wants what Jet has, a dream man and kids of her own, unfortunately she thinks all the good one’s are taken, now enters Mo. Lottie has a stalker and is sending threading letters to the strip club she works but Smtihie gets the letter first. He contacts Hawk to get one of his men on the the job, and Mo is the chosen one to be her bodyguard 24-7. Their chemistry is off the charts from minute one, however Mo takes his job seriously, therefore can’t act on his feelings until the stalker is caught.
It’s small slow burn, but once you get to the good parts and Lottie is safe, they are one hot tangle of lust and love, and and fabulous HEA.
It was great to catch up with the Hot Bunch, Tex, Jet and their mother. Don’t hesitate to pick up Quiet Man on August 13th, you won’t be disappointed.
4.5 stars
This is both a good place to start for someone wanting to jump into a stand-alone Kristen Ashley story, but fans will also appreciate getting to visit with the Hot Bunch and the Rock Chicks. And it also sets up the new Dream series with another set of hunky commandos and brings in Mo’s zany sisters.
This was easy for me to get into and felt like a comfy read. I already knew Lottie from popping up in previous books, but I really loved her strength, tenacity, and heart. She just wants a man to love and settle down with like her sister and friends. And now she is in need of protection, but her boss is afraid to call in Lee Nightingale or their cop friends since they are so close to her. So our old commando friend, Hawk saves the day by sending in a new bodyguard for her.
Mo seems to be the answer to her prayers in more ways than one. He is big, burly, quiet, and sexy. He takes his job and rep seriously and no matter how attracted he is to her, he vows to remain professional. But he is reliable, caring, thoughtful, protective, and eventually possessive. They have an easy rapport, sexual tension and chemistry just waiting to explode. But they have to make sure Lottie stays safe and then see how they could fit into each other’s worlds.
This story is a longer novella and a bit quieter than the older books…there is mystery, suspense, and danger, but not the major explosions, shootings, kidnappings that were a staple in the older series. But I enjoyed the character development and the connection all of these people shared. It’s got the humor, camaraderie, and strong bonds that make these characters such fan favorites. I am interested in Mo’s commando friends Mag, Axl, Auggie, and Boone. They are all charismatic and seem to have their own issues. I know Lottie has some friends and she is itching to start matchmaking in the new Dream series.

Mo & Lottie you are more than I could have ever imagined. Your love story was epic. Mo needed healing and Lottie was the balm to heal him. The story was action-packed, intriguing, and the chemistry between them jumped off the pages. It was not as long as KA’s books are, but it sure packed a punch. I can’t wait for the new series that was introduced with Mo’s friends. I am obsessed with Kristen Ashley’s books, but I just got even more obsessed! Give me all the KA words! This book is a must-read! Even if you have never read KA, this is a perfect introduction to her.
You forget sometimes how much you love a series, when time has passed, and it has been a while. The characters and situations, still there in your memories, fade and become sometime you smile softly about when you think of them. Then you read a book, a new book, in that series, a book to start a new series that you know you will love as much, and all those emotions flood over you. They crash through you, brining that same joy, contentment, fire, passion, longing, want, and fulfillment, just as strong as it ever was. The Dream Man series took me there the first time, and this book sucked me right back in!
Mo, sweet, strong, silent, self-doubting Mo. One of Hawk’s commando’s, an elite team that gets things done. However they are needed. Without question of consequence. Stealthy and deadly, they are the ones in the shadows that the boogeyman hides from. Heart of gold, protector, and an appreciation and understanding of women that comes from having four older sisters and have been raised by a strong independent woman. Lottie took one look, and knew he was her man, and he proved his worthiness of that the entire time they were together. Like, always and at every turn, proved he got his woman, and she was his. Lottie showed Mo, at every turn, and every time, he had no flaws, he was perfect as he was. She saw him through eyes that weren’t rose-coloured, and found him exactly how she wanted him, and that was someone who was worthy of all the love she had to give
Lottie had lots to figure out, her life, where she fits in it. She doesn’t realize, but where Mo is confused about some things regarding himself, he is confident where he belongs in people’s lives. Lottie thinks she is, but she realizes she didn’t quite have that right. With her family, her extended family, his family, his extended family, and her friends, and her Mo. Lottie learns she is loved beyond compare, and Mo brought that to her. He brought her, to a life she had full, and was fulfilling, more love, caring, and emotion, than she ever thought was possible. He didn’t make her a new woman; he opened her eyes to the woman she already was
Some suspense, but really, a story so focused on Mo and Lottie, as they are together the entire book, with very little exception. They get to know each other, and fall in love. There is a great slow burn, and some amazing fireworks. There are deep emotions, and quick blow ups. There are a lot of familiar faces, and a whole new set to fall in love with. I loved every moment of Mo and Lottie’s story, and when it stopped, I was happy, but I never wanted it to end!
