First book in this new series deals with Fenian Warrior Conn McRoich from the Dragon Knights series. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time. This time however, Conn is stripped of most of his powers. He must embark on a mission to correct a mistake he was responsible for. His quest takes him to modern day Ireland where he meets up with Ivy Kathleen. What he didn’t plan on was love striking him so hard that he was willing to give up his happiness for the rest of his days so she could live.
Ivy O’Callagan inherits an estate from an uncle she never knew. But the town in Ireland certainly knew her from letters her uncle shared with the town that were sent by Ivy’s mother. From the moment Ivy met Conn she knew he was something special.
Ms. Morgan’s descriptions make the story come alive, especially the little Irish town. Her characters take you along for their ride, evoking emotion whether it’s joy or sorrow. A mix of romance and mystery kept me turning pages until the end. Well done, Mary Morgan! I look forward to the next book in the Fae Legends.
Prepare to laugh, cry and fall in love! There wasn’t a moment, while reading this book, that I didn’t feel a connection to all the characters. I felt their pain and joy, their confusion and relief….It is a story about love, loss and forgiveness. Conn totally captured my heart as did Ivy. I found myself becoming so completely involved in the story that I just refused to accept the fact that there could be anything but a happy ending. This will be a book I will pick up again and again and will recommend it to everyone I can. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Mary Morgan is an insightful and brilliant storyteller and will keep you captivated from start to finish. 6 Stars for this wonderful story!
I just loved this story. I had wondered if Conn would get his own story. My, oh, my… Such a virile man. Such passion, and secrets that need to be told. I was so enthralled in his story and how he was trying very hard not to get emotionally attached to Ivy.
I loved how enduring je was and the emotions they both had for each other, so overwhelming attachment.
It is so intense. Stripped of his powers by the Fae, he must now go to the human realm and fix what he had done so many century’s ago. I stayed up till wee hours of the night reading this, I would turn off my light close my eyes, tossed and turned lol and had to go back and read some more, until I finished.
Oh yes, it is that good.
Ivy, had dark secrets, and was not wanting to share them with anyone, and then she finds out some secrets that had her wondering why. Tested to her limits when she go to Ireland and finds she has no choice but to stay. Threats are upon her, things she loves are destroyed and Conn is there to protect her.
I just just loved it, and can’t wait till the next one comes out. Mary Morgan has a way of enveloping you into her stories and the awe of them is just so awe-inspiring.
I felt like I was watching from a window as if I was a voyeur, waiting for what will transpire next..
Having met the Fenian Warriors in the Order of the Dragon Knights series, I was quite excited that readers were finally going to get to know them better and hear their stories. And now that I have read the first book in the Legends of the Fenian Warriors series, I have to tell you that it surpassed my expectations. Mary Morgan brings her worlds to vivid live with well written words and a gift for spinning a tale that makes readers believe in the unbelievable and easily draws them into the worlds she brings to life. Conn MacRoich and Ivy O’Callaghan are two of the most strong, vibrant characters that I have ever read as they try to unravel secrets, right wrongs and deny a sizzling attraction that heats up the pages. The romance between the two is smolders with passion and adventure as they captivate readers with their strength and depth.
Elements of danger and magic add a mysterious ambiance to the story which has a fast paced plot and flows smoothly through the events that take place ensuring that readers can’t put the book down for fear that they might miss one second of this the thrilling suspense and intriguing tale of lovers separated by worlds but linked by the fates. Conn’s struggle between his quest and his feelings for Ivy add to the depth of the story and make it easy for readers to believe that heroes really do exist and guarantees that readers want to get to know more of the Fenian Warriors.
This was an absolutely delightful Faery Tale! It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book that delighted and tickled my love for fantasy. This made my insides sparkle.
Conn MacRoich is a Fenian Warrior who was born a prince of the Fae. He gave up his birthright to become a protector of the peace between the human world and the Fae. To keep evil from hurting both humans and Fae. He is a man/Fae of honor who travels time with his brothers. He’s brought before the Fae Counsel for overstepping his authority and altering the human timeline of one important family. He is tasked with righting the wrong he has done. Along the journey he discovers fate has so much more in store for him and his destiny.
Ivy Kathleen O’Callaghan is an American of Irish descent who finds her life at a dead end in America and has inherited her uncle’s estate in Ireland. Little does she know the whole town knows everything about her even though she’s never set foot in Ireland because her mother shared her life with Uncle Thomas. Her journey of discovery has begun. She also possesses a “gift” she hides as people tend to fear her and it. Not so in Ireland. Many possess various gifts in Ireland.
I loved the struggle between these to people. Conn’s desperately trying to follow the “straight and narrow” to untangle the flow of time and aid Ivy Kathleen in embracing all that she is. I adored the growth of confidence in Ivy as she settles into her new life. This is a lovely crafting of fantasy, magic and adventure. Thank you for the opportunity to ARC review this story. I’m really looking forward to the next tale.
Are you ever there? When a book is so good, you can’t put it down – all the things you should be doing are justified to not do? I was so there, afraid to finish the book, never wanting to step out of this fantasy, because it was awesome and afraid not to finish the book so I could know what happens in this world of magic, love, and understanding. I wanted to proloooong the whole experience!! Through many a tear, on and off, through cheers of support for the good in humans and Fae, through meeting ‘old’ friends and getting to know new ones, through defeating evil, it is simply a wonderful experience!
Did I say I love this author? I love the mystical past mixed with the present allowing us to believe magic is still among us!
In a few pages, with her description, Morgan takes me to a place of such serenity, I’m tearful. Then she’ll squeeze my heart with tragedy, with impossible odds, with love so divine, so pure, so giving, I’m again tearful. She writes stories which ricochet deep into my being, leaving me spent and eventually sated.
This story is about the first of the Fenian Warrior to be punished, Conn MacRoich, an ancient having lived many lifetimes of battle and saving those needing saving. The start of this series has opened the door to loads and loads of stories ready to be told. Yeah, now can I continue living in this wonderful land of Warriors, Knights and even the last remaining Dragon, still protected by the remaining Dragon Knights. Morgan has me doing a happy dance. I now know there will be more Dragon Knights in a contemporary setting, more powerful than those who came before, men who are part Fae.
Ivy Kathleen travels to Ireland to take possession of an inheritance from an uncle she didn’t know existed. It’s an exciting time of her life, a new beginning of sorts. She finds the little town of Glennamore already knows her through pictures and stories her mother had shared with her uncle, Thomas O’Callaghan. Why share with a man never spoken of in her home? A mystery to solve. Her uncle was killed while crossing the street by a hit and run driver. Was it an accident?
All Ivy Kathleen’s life she’s had visions of sort, visions of the past. She’s learned to block them out. Her mother had told her it was a gift. Her father didn’t like Ivy, didn’t like the idea she had these visions. Why? A mystery to solve.
I liked the idea this is a new series, but pulls in characters from the last series, Order of the Dragon Knights, seeing them struggle with the consequences of their deeds. Conn is a special Fenian warrior. He is the son of the King and Queen of the Fae. To be a warrior, he had given up his status as prince, but finds he’s some major decisions in his life. He accepts his punishment, trying to un-weave that which he wrought in error, centuries ago.
Conn’s punishment sends him on a quest — to right the wrong, to bring the ancestor of the wronged into the light. Ivy Kathleen, newly traveled from San Diego, to Ireland meets him in the bar in Glennamore, across from the bookstore she also inherited. He is drawn to her, she to him. He struggles with emotions, those he didn’t have as a Warrior. Can he bring her into the light and remain distant?
Authors note discusses how this story is based on one of its legends of the Tuatha de Danann of Celtic mythology.
Lastly, I enjoyed how the story ended. It wasn’t just a happy ever after and then abruptly ends. Morgan weaves further plots into the ending, providing a sneak-peak without those teasers, which frankly, frustrate me. This ending leaves me wanting for what is to come, because apparently all is not well. The job is not finished. The new Dragon Knights and the Fae will continue the challenge to keep each other’s worlds intact.
