A Sexy & Thrilling 4.5 Star Read!!
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)
This book was really good. Queen Keisha Skye is sending an attack. The Queen from Mexico had a bird send them a warning but all it could convey was it would be soon, but & from The ground!! Shara has the idea to spill her blood to protect the ground, Goddesses Ghia & Morrigan both appreciate her sacrifice & love, they gift her Nest with something extremely ancient & surprising!! The attack & how they fight it is really clever!
After Shera has recovered the Isador Court goes to visit the Queen in Mexico, Mayte Zaniyah. Shara is extremely nervous about not messing up in her first official visit, it seems the other Queen is just as nervous though she’s also showing signs of desperation that Shara can protect her & her entire Court!! She’s very forthright about wanting – needing – to become her Sib!!
Once all of her secrets are exposed & she’s explained herself. She apologises multiple times for her dishonesty & subterfuge. Shara just needs to decide whether to ‘take her throat’ & gain her first Sib! The Court expect Shara to take their Nest, money etc as that’s what other powerful Queens would do, but she isn’t like other’s & will leave them stunned instead!!
Ra makes another attack on her & a child in the Court They’re nearly lost, but one of the Queen’s twin brother’s manages to save them both!
Shara has to make a difficult choice to be the given the power to kill Ra by an Aztec Goddess. Lose one of her Blood, forever, it’s a life for a life She won’t know who it will be either! But everyone could be lost with Ra on the lose & still influencing people!! Its revealed that someone in the Zaniyah Court has betrayed them or the attack could never have happened!!
This was a fast paced & exciting read

I kinda have the same comments as I do for Book 3, Queen Takes Queen, of Joely’s Their Vampire Queen series as I did for Book 2! I love this story and the world Joely has created. I don’t know why it took me so long, but I am addicted already. I hope the rest of the series gets more books done in audio, it definitely deserves to be!!
The storyline was fantastic, more twists to the story for Shara and her Blood. I loved the dichotomy between Shara and the Zenaya Queen. I knew the twist (what she was hiding in her nest) but the nuances between her, her “heart”, her twin brothers…really added a lot of layers to this story and I can’t wait to read Book 4 to learn what happens next with the war brewing between the NY Queen and Shara. I am intrigued by the new blood, not sure how I feel about them yet. I am loving the other blood more and more and loved the M/M that spiced up the bedroom for some of the blood haha. My guilty pleasure is M/M, so that was amazing (and a little distracting to be driving while listening hahaha). I will say there were times in the beginning of the book where the sex got too much, but like Book 2, it evened out in the middle to end of the stories and was more well rounded with sex and storyline.
The only complaint I have, which is why I couldn’t give it 5 stars on the performance section is because this time both narrators had issues with not being consistent with accents and messing up who was doing what. I think this could easily be resolved by someone listening though and annotating these areas before the audio is live. I know not all authors have someone to do this/don’t have the time to do it themselves, but I can see it getting worse with all the additions to Shara’s blood and their multiple accents. Both narrators did a phenomenal job capturing the emotions correctly and the flow was perfect. I am loving these 2 and already am looking for other books using one of these narrators.
Great audiobook, would definitely recommend people buy/download this series and enjoy the steamy and action packed life of Shara Isador .
The third book in the series, this book is about Shara taking risks and learning more about her world. In this book, we start to see Shara’s first real steps as a queen, and we start to see into the Aima world and not just through the eyes of her Blood. We get to meet Mayte, queen of the Mexico nest. Along the way, Shara also picks up three more Blood – that’s nine total, for those playing the home game. I don’t mention a lot about them, as it’s hard to talk about them, and not give anything away or write a synopsis, which I’m loathe to do. Suffice it to say that I think most women would love to have one man like Shara’s Blood, let alone nine of them. Again, another action-packed, sexy book. I’m convinced by this point that this author doesn’t know how to write a bad book. I have never binged a series as quickly as I have this one. Thank God I found it after it was already complete, or the wait between books would have killed me.
This series gets better with each book and adds new twists and turns, new characters that are full of surprises, intrigue and deception. Excellent story.
Queen Takes Queen (Their Vampire Queen Book 3) Kindle Edition

I got this book via KU so it may not show as a verified purchase. Rest assured, I not only read it, but devoured it.
The next in this hot and very naughty Reverse Harem series hits so many sexy notes, you really need a very cold shower or a loved one as you read it.
Reverse Harem by its very nature is subversive, this series is even more so. Ms Burkhart draws on the work of Goddess Culture scholars as she creates a series that not only is about not having to choose just one loving those you do choose, but also hints at bringing down the patriarchy!
Shara goes to her first trip to another Queen’s home and as usual, things go quite against plan! She handles the surprises with talent and acumen that one would expect of a Goddess and a true Queen.
The writing itself is tight and almost poetic. The plotting is excellent, also tight and laid out like the best of fiction – every scene and obstacle leads to the next. There are no unnecessary scenes or plot points. The sex scenes would make Laura K Hamilton blush and, unlike the newest Anita Blake books, the scenes add to the plot and story instead of stalling it.
The men, and women, are sexy and all edge on the role of Alpha. I particularly like Daire (speaking of LKH, Daire is a less clingy version of Nathaniel if you are a fan of the series). He is sweet and clever. Naughty and nice in a sweet furry feline package.
Shara is an exceptional female character. She is strong and dominant in the sense she will fight for what she loves and what she knows is right. An outsider to the Aima world, she rarely, if ever, folds from lack of knowledge. I adore her and want to be just like her when I grow up.
The flipping POV’s the story is told from are each unique and a fresh window on the tale.
Warning: There are MM, MMFFM and other combos. There are very graphic scenes involving blood and other bodily fluids as well as graphic violence. This is not a series for the faint of heart or those seeking a simple, sweet lovestory.
The Book Nerd highly recommends and is currently tearing through Queen Takes Rook!

Third book in an Awesome series!!! Sharma and the guys embark on a trip to Mexico to meet another Queen. Love the unexpected turns in this story.
This book follows similar themes as the previous novels. It is filled with more adventure, sex, and danger. We meet knew characters and continue to learn more about Shara and her blood. Kept me enraptured until the very last word.
I thought the first two books were just awesome but then I finished this one. Shara is really coming into her powers now and one a of stuff is going on. Between the magic, the constant attacks, and the steamy scenes you end up with an absolutely incredible paranormal RH novel that will be unable to put down. I need some of those trees too for my house. I loved and highly recommend it so it gets 5/5 stars.

Book three in this absurdly mindbogglingly wonderful series
Picking up once more, straight after the events in book 2.
Shara Isador, last daughter and queen of the goddess Isis continues to strengthen her nest (stronghold ) with the aid of her ‘blood’ alpha Rik, Daire, G, xin, mehen, Navarre and new addition Ezra.
Since the moment Rik and Daire entered her life, Shara has faced attacks from thralls, opposing queens and even a god. Time is of the essence and no one knows this more than Shara, with a blessings of support from ‘the Morrigan’ and her Nest made secure, Shara welcomes the thought of a moments peace. However A warning from a faraway Aztec Queen Mayte, advises this is not to be and the North American Queen ‘Skye’s’ has plans to attack are gladly received.
Victorious in the attack that follows, Shara must now travel with her bloods to Mayte’s Nest. Why would a long established, self isolated queen want to become a ‘sib’ ( ally ) to a new unknown queen. The risks are many and the outcome looks dire but Shara, despite continuing to grow in power, does not have as large a Nest as Skye and will need as many ally’s as she can get in that battle that is sure to come in the days ahead.
This series continues to blow my book loving mind… this series is a veritable feast of a book, rich in plot, depth of characters and brimming with action.
There is no down time in the story and as a reader I was fully and willingly held captive by every page.
More and more is being revealed about Shara’s individual bloods, it’s not gone unnoticed that each blood has his own trauma/trial that he has to experience before finding his way to Shara. That each member continues to get his own POV chapter, allowing furthermore development of their individuality so that they aren’t ‘lost’ in the harem.
Rik as alpha, continues to been the main ‘blood’ the fact, which I totally approve… he is such a fantastic character…rough, strong, commanding, considerate and caring but also the most vulnerable too… I adore the protective and loving relationship between Shara and Rik and that it flows in both directions.
I continue to adore the mythology that runs through this series too, so far we’ve had Egyptian, Celtic, Greek and in this book Aztec…. The addition of which is fantastic, adding another dimension… BUT MY GOD! I cannot even think how to say those names never mind spell them…
I am in book hangover heaven at present and I’m sure to suffer painfully ( and noisily ) until the release of the next instalment in this series.
