Fantastic Continuation!
WOW! Each installment of this phenomenal series has blown me away. This amazing author’s ability to transport us readers into a stunning fantasy world is truly the sign of a phenomenal writer.
Queen of Poison is a fast paced, action packed story with so many twists and turn throughout making your head spin. This series continues to keep me on the edge of my seat with utter anticipation of what the hell is going to happen next. I am being pulled into an intense soon to be epic final battle. I don’t want this series to end but at the same time I can’t wait for the final book.
This story definitely set the stage for one final, dramatic, bloody and totally epic final battle that I can’t wait to read about. I am on pins and needles waiting for the end!
All the books in the series have been leading to an epic conclusion. This book is the last leg of the journey for Ayleth. Is she ready for this? Her Order has betrayed her, has tortured her, has disavowed her, has tried to murder the man she is beginning to admit she loves. Her king is disillusioned and sure of his unworthiness to be king. Her beloved wants to openly love and be loved. Now she is face to face with her destiny. Now what? I need to read the next book, I really do. What does Ayleth choose??!?
I received this ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sylvia Mercedes does the business once again. Another masterclass in how to keep your readers entertained and their eyes glued to the page. If there was any way of awarding more than five stars, I would’ve done it gladly.
The author unveils more of the backstory concerning Dread Odile and some of the other characters involved, and juxtapositions it with what is happening in the present timeline. You may feel the loss of one shade (I know I did), however, another will emerge when you least expect it.
This is an amazing storyline which I will in no way spoil by giving hints, so apologies for being deliberately vague. I was in tears on more than one occasion. But that’s just me, I’m a big softy.
The world, story, and character building are phenomenal pieces of work. Being honest, I can’t wait for the final book to come out, and I don’t want to read it because it ends the series, in equal measures. Don’t hesitate to buy anything by this author as she is so talented.
I chose an eARC of this work, which I then voluntarily read and honestly reviewed. All opinions are my own.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this book. Here’s my honest review following reading –
OMG! Sylvia continues to completely wow the reader with this epic storyline!
Book 6 continues where book 5 (Tears of Dusy) left off, with Ayleth and her compatriots on the trail of the dread queen Odile and her Crimson Devils.
Sylvia continues with her amazing world building, which aids the reader in falling completely into the story. It makes you feel as if you could really be there with the characters, seeing exactly what they’re seeing.
The characters themselves have grown throughout the series so far and continue to develop, while also introducing a couple of earlier characters who make more of a mark in the story.
In this book, we can read more of Odile, who she is and where she came from, which helps expand on the story as a whole.
The cliffhanger though! I think I almost had a heart attack (again!!) when I reached the last page! Sylvia, woman, you are a real, honest to whoever you believe in, author who knows how to hook your readers and keep them coming back for more! Is it time for book 7 yet???
