Queen Of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett. I loved this book. Its a contemporary romance with some mystery. So very good and can’t wait for the second one. Its the story of Quinn Winters who is best known as the actress who is constantly getting killed off shows! She is tired of that title so decides she is going to go to Nashville to try to break into the music business. During her first meeting with a music executive they tell her she needs to learn to play an instrument and write her own songs. On the same day after her meeting she runs into none other than the next King of Country Music Tucker McGinnis. He sees her and instantly feels a connection so he offers to help her break thru the Country Music world when he should be worrying about his own career. His first album was a record breaker and his new album has tanked. The record execs are breathing down his back to get a new album out that’s even better than the first. On top of that pressure he’s offered to help a stranger and now he’s proposing a temporary marriage to help them both out. Will they be able to fool all the fans or will the fans see thru the fake relationship. Will they end up having feelings for one another? Read Queen of my Heart to find out!
Queen of my heart is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait Series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. I fell in love with Quinn and Tucker. They are such relatable characters. Quinn has helped support her family since she was young as a child actress. Tucker has a condition that he doesn’t want anyone to know about, being in the spotlight as a country singer. Both grew up in abusive homes, can they overcome their pasts to build a future together?
I truly enjoyed this book and will be looking to read the other books in the series especially the second book following Quinn and Tucker. This book made me laugh, shed a few tears, and made my heart full.
This is an amazing love story, so if you love contemporary romance books then you will find yourself engrossed in this one. At least I did. It is set in the country music scene which I didn’t think I would enjoy as much as I did since I am normally more of a rocker chick. However, the author created a page turner set inside of a world I wanted to find my own self living in. The characters growth throughout the story is so good to see because it really does have a lot of real-life issues I could also relate to. This, in my opinion, always makes a story better. I have read a few other books by this author, so I know her writing draws me in on all levels. If you have never read a book written by her before I think you will find her to be a new favorite writer of yours.
This is the first book I have read from this author and she has a new fan. I love a good country romance but this author exceeded all my expectations. This is the first book from the Life Won’t Wait series and now I’m addicted. Once I started this book I was hooked to the character’s story. I could not put it down until the very end. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next.
Quinn Winters is famous for her dying parts in movies. She discovers that she is in love with music. Quinn tries out for a record deal and she gets stopped by the handsome Tucker. She is so excited when he tells her he sees something in her and wants to help her out. Quinn is ready to become famous but she gets a phone call that changes everything. Will Quinn get her big shot or will she have to give up her dreams yet again?
Queen Of My Heart is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. It is a great contemporary romance novel that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It’s not the first time that I had read this author’s work so I knew that i was putting myself in safe hands.
I have to say that I’m a sucker for a fake marriage book so was really looking forward to reading this book. Quinn and Tucker just grabbed hold of my heart straight away and kept a tight grip throughout. I loved both characters and was rooting for them to have the HEA that they both deserved.
I’m also a sucker for a cute kid in a book and Tucker’s niece is totally adorable. I loved that she couldn’t say Quinn’s name so she called her Queen. A total scene stealer.
One of my big passions in life, after reading, is music and I loved that this book is set in the music world. We get to see a bit of the good and the bad about life in the music world. It’s not all sunshine and roses.
I really enjoyed Queen of my Heart and look forward to reading more of this series.
I really enjoyed the author’s writing and the story she created. I enjoyed reading the characters and I loved both of these characters Tucker and Quinn were great characters. It had a nice happily ever after and was really sweet. They both came from messed up families but found each other. I felt the book dragged a little bit but other than that liked the book.
What do country’s next biggest act and a TV star seeming to fall out of the limelight have in common? Probably more than we think.
Quinn Winters started acting at the young age of nine and loved it, but now she is looking to do something new. She is best known for her character being killed off after a few episodes and she doesn’t want to continue down that path. She decides a move to Nashville is the best move not just because she feels that she has a chance to become a music artist, but she wants to get away from her family problems. She has been taking care of her family and cleaning up their messes for as long as she can remember. The time has finally come when enough is enough. That is until her sister calls her stating that she is in some major trouble and needs Quinn’s help. Will her sisters screw up cost her a possible career and relationship?
Tucker McGinnis is country music’s next big artist. He made his name by winning on a reality singing show which pretty much made him an over night sensation. After rising to stardom and having a mutli platinum selling debut album the pressure is on to do a repeat. Unfortunately he has been hit by the sophomore jinx like many artists before him. When he heard Quinn singing one of his songs at her audition he is mesmerized by her voice. When he is able to see what she looks like he is a goner. He offers to help fine tune who she is as an artist by giving her guitar lessons, but Quinn is weary of his motives. Will he be able to make her see that he doesn’t want anything from her except to possibly be loved?
Anyone that loves a good love story should read this book. The relatability between Quinn and Tucker is amazing. To see two stars as a regular person in this book is just amazing. The story takes place in Nashville TN, place where I was born and raised and I was hooked. Quinn seems to be so relatable even though she is an actress wanting to change careers because we learn not everything is as it seems. Same with Tucker, like the saying goes don’t judge a book by its cover. Can’t wait to read more and see where these 2 end up.
Nikki Lynn Barrett is one of my favourite authors and I especially feel this was justified with this novel. This novel was brilliantly written, and the characters were relatable and interesting. Quinn Winters is a daytime soap and straight to TV movie actress whose first love is country music. After one TV death too many she turns her back on acting, moves to Nashville and tries her hand at making it as a country singer. Tucker McGinnis has been labelled as not only the sexiest country music singer but also the ‘next king of country’. His second album however has flopped in the record labels eyes. Pairing with Quinn to launch her career and save his own, they help each other out in more ways than one. Barrett writes her characters story in such an intriguing and believable way that you feel like you could be hearing about your favourite singers’ lives.
Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett is a solid first book to the Life Won’t Wait series. This is an endearing story that follows two lost souls who are trying to escape demons from their past. The writing is easy to follow and the characters are slowly developed as the story unfolds. A quick heartwarming read that held my interest from start to finish. This is a stand-alone but a little bonus at the end sets the scene for the next book in the series.
Nikki Lynn Barrett has written an entertaining with wonderful characters with Queen Of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait Book 1). This is the first in a brand new series by the best selling author and after reading this first book, I cannot wait for another installment! Barrett delivers a story that lifts the spirit and distracts from the heaviness of the day with Quinn Winters, a day time soap opera star, and a King of country music. Tucker McGinnis has risen above his reality show fame and became a country music star of his own. He fell in-love with Quinn’s voice when she was auditioning at his record label. The chance encounter lead to Tucker offering to mentor Quinn and of course, there was love in the air. However, is it only one-sided? There is also issues plaguing their professional careers. Too much is happening between the soap opera and Quinn’s music career. Is Tucker losing his popularity? There is just enough drama in the story to keep you turning pages and keep your interest without making it overwhelming. It is this balance which makes Barrett’s plots so enjoyable! If this is your first time reading her stories you may want to find another one and if not, then you will be sure to want to be on the look out for the second in this series!
Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait series. This is a sweet contemporary romance which some lovely characters right at the heart of it. This whole story has a great feel to it. It is emotional and heartwarming. I found myself wanting to keep reading to discover more of the journey that the characters were going on.
I thought the author did a great job of developing the story at the right pace. Nothing felt rushed or forced, everything felt like it happened naturally. This is a really well written book which such a great pace about it.
As the first book of a new series it is a strong start and has me excited about what else is to come.
Queen Of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett is a romance connecting through music. There is so much in this story to love.
Quinn Winter is sick of being the actress with the most dead-end roles. She’s making a much-needed shift in her life after discovering her love of music while playing a country singer on a daytime soap opera. Quinn is unprepared for the demands and aspirations that come with becoming a successful musician in Music City. Her sister’s begging call places her in an all-too-familiar, but unwelcome situation. Tucker auditioned for a reality singing competition five years ago, never intending to win. His sudden celebrity and success come as a complete shock. His second album is suffering from the dreaded sophomore jinx, despite a platinum debut. When he is plagued with guilt over an accident that affects his family, his artistic muse becomes inaccessible. Quinn astounds him when he overhears her audition singing his song.
An attraction develops, and a musical link is created. When life gets in the way, Tucker comes up with a new plan. A temporary union that will support them both before things get too real. Two souls destined, two hearts blending to make beautiful music as individuals, but even better as country music’s next power pair- if they can let go of their past selves.
I loved every page of it and can’t wait to read book two.
Queen of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait book 1)is my first book by Nikki Lynn Barrett.
Quinn Winters is looking for a change and she is going to try her hand at singing. She couldn’t ask for someone to help better than the next King of Country Music – Tucker McGinnis. But Tucker gets a little more than is expected when Quinn’s past crashes into her present.
The emotions and development of the characters were good in this book. But I felt there were times that things moved a little too slow, that it had me setting the book down and coming back to it.
Highly entertaining, sexy, fun and engaging journey filled with interesting charters, witty banter, tested loyalties and undeniable passion… was a great read. Really enjoyed every exciting, heart racing twist and looking forward to more from this series.

I volunteered to read Queen of My Heart. Thanks to
the author for the opportunity. My opinion is my own.
This book is a beautiful love story. The characters had their own bad stuff from the past which they tried too keep buried and in the past only it keep coming to them in their thoughts. They both had bad childhoods and both had their demons to fight but, together they could beat it or are they strong enough to hear what each other had gone through. She was trying to go from the most killed off actress to a country singer and he was the newest upcoming country singer that had made it big but was suffering after his last album slumped, but there were reasons no one except family and his music team knew about. Quinn auditioned for a record company and sang one of Tucker’s songs and Tucker heard her and fell in love. Quinn and Tucker met by accident after her audition and both feel the attraction and neither knows how to deal with it or even if they should. Tucker decides to take Quinn under his wing and teach her in in’s and out’s of Country Music. Tucker has been victim of writer’s block and struggling to complete his next CD which changed after meeting Quinn. Nikki Lynn Barrett did an awesome job on this book and I truly Love It!! This is a MUST read book!!
