USA Today Bestselling author, Terri E. Laine, continues the story of ruthless, determined Scottish billionaire Kalen Brinner and Bailey Glicks, the woman he’s determined to have in Queen of Men. Her My heart is tangled in a web I hadn’t meant to weave.Past and present twisting love into a dangerous word I dare not speak. One was supposed to be gone from my life.Far as I was from the life I’d … my life.
Far as I was from the life I’d created for myself—
Yet ignorant of the danger that awaited me.
But there he stands with whispered words full of promise,
Creating a choice full consequences that could break me.
Him
She is mine and if he thinks he can take her from me, he’s mistaken.
Once I’d claimed her, there was no going back.
I was foolish to let her walk away.

Bailey Glicks is mine.
I’ll do whatever is necessary to prove it to her—
And I’ll make damn sure she’s safe.
Queen of Men is the second book of the King Maker series and should be read following Money Man.

This book is not a standalone. It continues right where Money Man leaves off. This book mainly focuses on Baileys past. It gives you a great appreciation for how she grew up, the struggles she faced, her sacrifice to leave her family and what she endures when returning. There is quite a twist at the end that has me intrigued on where the conclusion will take us in King Maker~the last book in the trilogy. I know who I’m rooting for!
Queen of Men is book 2 King Maker series by Terri E. Laine. And let me say how much I ADORE Terri Laine. I always devour her books, but in all honesty Queen of Men isn’t my favorite book by her. I really didn’t expect the turn of this book, and I’m not a fan of love triangles.
I LOVE Kalen. He is such an interesting character and is so in love with Bailey. However I feel Bailey isn’t in love with him, and after the twist I read in this book it showed me she’s all about herself. She’s probably my least favorite character Ms Laine has written.
This series has been a mix for me so far, but I’m very interested in how this series will end. What happens to Bailey, and the most important question does Kalen get a happily ever after cause, he deserves one.
This was a nice read, but I was a bit disappointed after the great first book because the story seemed to be on a standstill. It wasn’t boring and still well written but looking back, there wasn’t really that much happening to move the story along.
I also wasn’t a fan of how Bailey went from one guy to the next. I thought her feelings were hurt but she didn’t seem that heartbroken. It just didn’t sit well with me how she strung all the guys along who were into her. Suffice to say that I didn’t like her character very much in this book.
I’d hoped that this series would be a duet but knew it wasn’t. I just didn’t really see a purpose of why this second book was drawn out like that. The only ‘interesting’ parts happened in the last 20% of the book.
Honestly, at the moment I’m not even sure when I’ll read the next book because it’s not like I’m sitting on needles to read more about all the guys running after this one girl who can’t make up her mind. Ugh. I’m really not a fan of her right now.
So it pains me to say this but Queen of Men is not my favorite Terri E.Laine book.
I was nervous to read this book after reading Money Man (Book 1) and rightly so….this story went exactly where I predicted it to go.
I am going to start with what I liked about the book, then I will tell you what I didn’t. I LOVED Kalen in this story. It took me some time to warm up to him in Money Man, but by this book I am in love with him. I still like Bailey but my overall picture of her has changed a little after reading this book. I don’t want to say much about the storyline, but I will say I LOVED the suspenseful aspect of it. I am HOPING that the third book in this series really focuses on that. I am interested to see where Terri is going to take these characters. I really hope some of the extra characters (Turner) that we met in this story really don’t play much of a part in the next book.
I did love seeing what Bailey’s life at home was like. I thought Terri gave a realistic point of view to this type of lifestyle. I liked getting to know more of Bailey’s family and meeting her siblings. Again I think some of them played a bigger role then need be, but we’ll see where she goes with it.
Ok, so here is what I didn’t like….
Queen of Men is a love triangle story. Which is a hard limit for me!!! This story is exactly why I don’t like triangles in my reading. There are too many players in the story. I wish Terri would’ve kept it between Bailey and Kalen. I think the storyline from the first book had enough drama in it to keep this story interesting without having to add more unnecessary drama…..in my opinion. Now if you are a fan of love triangles, then I think you will LOVE this book. The other thing I was not expecting is the Cliffhanger at the end. I thought this was going to be the final book in this series…so color me surprised to see it end the way it did. I don’t mind cliffhangers if I know they’re coming. When you start reading a book and get to that ending, it just would’ve been nice to let the reader know up front that this series was a 3 books series.
This book is NOT a standalone novel, Money Man DOES need to be read before reading this book. This book is told in Dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. Had it not been for the triangle I would’ve loved this story!!
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a triangle, but just know that the first book in this series is not a triangle. If you are a fan of Terri’s books, then I think you should give this a try. Just because it wasn’t my favorite doesn’t mean it won’t be a 5 star for other readers.
Terri has done it again and left me speechless. Queen of Men is amazing but you must read Money Man and the third book for the whole story. This story starts where Money Man left off. In Queen of Men we learn so much about Bailey’s life, her family, Turner and oh how I loved him. My heart was like a ping pong ball going back and forth between Kalen and Turner. At times I wasn’t happy with Bailey’s actions, but my heart ached for her also. These men – this story = amazing! I loved getting to know some of Bailey’s siblings and their spouses. Queen of Men has twists, turns. surprises, suspense and left me with lots of questions. Terri’s writing always takes me on the journey of the story. She writes with her whole heart and soul, giving me all the feels and emotions of the characters. I can’t wait to read King Marker to get the answers I’m dying for!
This is the second part of the trilogy. This is a 4 star for Queen of Men.
Bailey goes back to her home town after Kalen and her have come to a misunderstanding or fall out of some sort. When she left her home town, she left a heartbroken ex, Turner. Now things are about to get interesting.
This is an entertaining story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I’m still clueless on who she’s suppose to be with. That’s where I struggle. I don’t particularly seek this kind of storyline where there’s a potential for a confusion in between 3 people.
I liked the characters very much, I can’t wait for the rest.
OMG!!! Kalen and Bailey’s relationship from the first book becomes rocky and pretty much non-existent. Add Turner into the mix and the story grows. Trouble still lurks for Bailey though she brushes it off until it affects her family. Definitely need to read Money Man first and can’t wait for more of the twisted possible love triangle.
Didn’t know this was three parts. Disappointed That I have to wait for third . First two were good.
That ending is killing me!!! I can’t even, why can’t she have all 3 men? I need to know the conclusion to this story so bad. Who is Bailey going to end up with when it’s all said and done? And the suspense is killing me I love this series so much already! Terri knows how to write one steamy story.
Queen of Hearts is the second part of King Maker Series. ** Must read in order to follow this story.** This story picks up right where it left off in Money Man (King Maker). The suspense and twists and turns kept me glued to my kindle, I read it all in an afternoon. Bailey’s run back to her family. I liked getting to see what her life was like before hand. Meeting her family and friends. I liked her first love Turner, they had a good connection, but something feels off about him. King and Bailey are combustible together, and they have that magnetic pull towards one another. How is Bailey going to be able to pick one over the other? They both have a special place in her heart. I need the next part asap! I need to know what’s going to happen?
This second book is such a wonderful story. Ms. Laine has proven herself time and time again that she’s excellent author. I recommend this awesomeness to anyone who is looking for a great book.
This series keeps getting more and more intriguing. It has now turned into a threesome and I’m at odds at who should Bailey choose. Kalen and Turner, her present and her past, both love her dearly but they are so different. Bailey is at odds with what to do but then danger is close by and she has to make decisions. Then the unthinkable happens and omg I just don’t know what will happen next. One thing for sure the sexual tension between these three makes for an entertaining read.
Queen of Men is the highly anticipated second installment in the addictive King Maker series by Terri E. Laine. It cannot be read as a standalone since you need to read the first book prior to this one in order to understand what’s going on. After finishing Money Man I was left with my jaw on the floor and with a pounding heart anxiously awaiting the continuation of Bailey and Kalen’s story. I had very high expectations for this book and I’m happy to report that they’ve all been met.
Queen of Men was a great and entertaining read although it was not as fast paced as the previous book which made total sense to me due to what was happening in the story. Terri put the focus on the emotional turmoil of the characters and their complex relationships with each other which is frankly speaking essential for the further course of the story. We also get to see more of Bailey’s background – how and where she grew up and what life is like in an Amish like community.
Bailey hastily left New York after her shocking discovery in book one. She told Kalen to leave her alone and to move on. In dire need of some space, solitude and a place to hide she goes to her family’s secluded home. But facing the man she was once betrothed to and who was her first love – Turner – will turn out to be a big challenge. He is still gorgeous, kind-hearted and sweet and spending time with him rekindles the feelings she still harbors for him. But the magical spell sexy billonaire Kalen put her under is still very much present and she can’t get him out of her head. Even though she knows that it would be best to forget him. Kalen knows that he was a fool for letting a woman like Bailey walk away but now he is hellbent on getting his woman back and keeping her safe from the lurking dangers.
I could totally understand Bailey’s inner conflict. Turner and Kalen are both fascinating men and alluring in their own ways. While everything with Turner feels familiar and solid, with Kalen it was mysterious and exciting. I loved both of them for different reasons and that’s Terri E. Laine’s fault. She made choosing one guy simply impossible!
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and have devoured it within a few hours. Now I can’t wait to see what this amazingly talented author has in tow for my beloved characters. I’m now counting the days until King Maker comes out. Queen of Men is another top favorite of 2019 and I’m giving it thus 5 well-deserved stars. Please do yourself a favor and pick up this fantastic series!
I shamelessly admit that Terri E. Laine totally got me hooked on the King Maker series!!! It’s one of the best I ever had the pleasure to read. And I’m not easily impressed to be honest! I knew after reading Money Man that I’ve found a new obsession. That story was a bookworms dream come true. I was deeply invested in the two main characters Bailey and Kalen and couldn’t wait to find out how their story continues. The challenge with every series is to keep readers interested and deliver a sequel that lives up to the first installment. Terri E Laine easily achieved that! Queen of Men picked up exactly where we were left after Money Man. So be sure to read the first book before you dive into this one!
After finding out the truth about Kalen, Bailey is heartbroken. Feeling betrayed she runs away from New York to the place she never thought she will return back so soon, home. To her Amish like community in the middle of nowhere, where her parents and siblings still live. There she meets Turner, the handsome and kind-hearted boy she once loved and left behind. The one she shared her first kiss with and many other firsts too. Seeing him again will bring old feelings to the surface. Desperately wanting to forget Kalen, but unable to deny her feelings for Turner, Bailey’s heart and mind will be at constant war. It won’t make things easier when Turner admits that despite what happend in the past he still loves her and wants her to give them a chance.
In the meantime Kalen is missing Bailey. He realizes that he’s fallen deep and can’t let her go. When disturbing things come into light, indicating that her life is in danger, he makes the decision to find her and bring her back. After all she belongs to him and he protects what’s his…
I can’t and won’t give away more from the plot, because you need to experience this story on your own. But let me give you a little warning: your feelings will be all over the place.
Bailey wasn’t the only one torn between two men. I was too! I simply couldn’t pick a side because Terri E Laine made me like them both. Kalen and Turner are both great men, each in their own way. While Turner is the good-hearted, gentle and patient guy that makes Bailey feel safe and cherished, Kalen is the passionate, wild and possessive alpha who awakens feelings inside her like nobody else has ever before.
Now after that jaw dropping cliffhanger at the end of the story, all I want is to get my hands on the next book! The anticipation is killing me! Bravo Terri E Laine for giving us another highly entertaining and unputdownable story that won’t let readers unaffected. 5 stars.
Queen of Men book 2 King Maker
(Not a standalone, read in order)
By Terri E. Laine
5 Stars
Wow! Oh my just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, it twisted the unexpected. Love the characters!
“I’m not sure what’s so special about her. She thinks she’s the queen when she’s not even that pretty.”
Can not wait to read the next book in this series!!
O.M.G!
The long-awaited sequel to Money Man is here and it’s … unexpected…
I loooove these characters, though this time I am not sure if I should hug and comfort them, or slap them and shake some sense into them…
All these twists and turns… murderous…
I loved to see where Bailey comes from, to meet her family and learn more about her background history. What I didn’t love though is this aweful cliffhanger… now I have to wait for the next book in this series… again… darn…
Another MUST READ by Ms. Laine!
I have been impatiently waiting for book 2 in the King Maker series, and I was not disappointed. I don’t know what to say without giving away any too much. So here are the basics. The story continues on directly from book 1. We get to see some of Bailey’s past life with her family, in fact we get to see a whole side of a Bailey I’m not sure I really liked in this book. We still have my adorable Kalen, in fact, if possible I think I loved him more in book 2. A few additional characters, plot twists and turns, and of course, none of the questions I had in book 1 are answered, and I think I may be left with even more questions. All that aside, intriguing storyline, excellent writing and some great characters introduced into the plot. This book cannot be read as a stand-alone, it is part 2 of a trilogy, and now I’m left impatiently waiting for final book in this series. I have absolutely no idea where the author is going to take us in this final instalment, but I know I’ll enjoy every single minute of it. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.
Wow! Bailey is confused and hurt, she went home to try and figure out her life. The twist and turns this story has will keep you reading until the end….but guess what? You have to wait till the next story comes out to find out. You won’t be sorry. Can’t wait!
Bailey had to leave home but didn’t expect the judgement she’d get when she went home. When she sees her ex Turner, all the memories flood back. Bailey left her fiancé but will he let her go? How will Bailey coming home effect everyone?
Queen Of Men is part 2 in the King Maker series and it is not a standalone, part one must be read first. I loved this book because we see the community that Bailey grew up in and what life was like. The only thing that kinda turned me off was this love triangle. I’m not a big fan of them and I try to avoid them when possible. With all that said I’m excited to see what the final installment has in store for Bailey and Kalen.
