Choose the best phrase to describe Sibby Goldstein’s life:1) Sucky.2) Really sucky.3) Major suck-fest.D) All of the above.I started my day with a boyfriend and a job. I ended my day with a bottle of tequila. I’ll let you connect the dots.Somehow, I wound up working as a waitress at an Italian restaurant. I have no idea what I’m doing. And I’m not just talkin’ about life. This should be interesting.
Sibby is let go from her job and comes home to find her boyfriend of 2 years in bed with another man! Grant it both her job and relationship were boring, but how much can a girl take? But while out that night commiserating with her best friend Annie, she meets Aiden.
Aiden is funny, cute, sweet, honest, and when his best friend Caleb hooks up with Annie, Aiden comes home with Sibby. Their relationship evolves into something very precious but since he is her boss at her new job, Sibby demands they keep it secret. This doesn’t sit well with Aiden who wants the world to know she is his.
The comedy that is interspersed in this story with the tales of the customers at the Italian restaurant Sibby waitresses at is hilarious! From the interactions she has with them to the disasters that seem to befall Sibby at every turn, she will remind you of I Love Lucy! Beloved by all, endearing, funny, and no filter, she just barrels through life in her cartoon underwear and devil may care attitude. Ya gotta love her. And I did!
This book is so good, so funny, showing that family is precious and not only related by blood but also by friendships and hearts. This is a book that you will be richer for having read.
This was a super cute book! I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and the storyline. This was my first book by this author and it definitely won’t be my last.
This was a sweet and funny novel!! The story was interesting and cute! I could have used more in the sex scenes!! Like any steamy scene would have been great but there were none. Is it really a romance novel if there isn’t any detailed sex? Still a wonderful book!! I didn’t regret reading it one bit!!
Queen of Klutz by Samantha Garman
Series: Sibby, book 1
4 Solid Klutzy Stars. I came across this story while looking for a book that started with Q. I am doing an audiobook A-Z challenge and while I couldn’t find this in audio, it sounded good enough to read anyway!
The book is very light, easy to read, and get into. The characters are fun and friendly, the situations are amusing and most of it takes place in a restaurant as the main character is a waitress. I loved the little beginning chapter notes, and the way it was written as more separate scenes within the chapters. I felt it kept the story moving quickly and didn’t bog it down with unnecessary details.
It was a romance for sure, but it’s super clean. A “closed door” type romance. Sex is mentioned but no details, which honestly I found a nice change. I would recommend this story, if you are looking for a quick, silly, and probably honest accounting of what some waitresses may go through. I am glad I picked it up!
~Paragraphs and Petticoats~
Lol hysterical read!!
Some of the snappiest dialogue I’ve read in a long time! Just a fantastic book.
Sibby had a bad day. A really bad day. She lost her job. Then her boyfriend. Through these events she ended up meeting Aiden and sparks fly and wit is everywhere.
Sibby is sarcastic and funny. All of the characters were likeable and funny. The story was light hearted and funny. Very easy to read and so enjoyable.
I laughed throughout the book and I can’t wait to read the second in series.
I started this book with very high expectations, and I ended up laughing myself to the end. As a total klutz, I really felt Sibby’s pain, so I totally get where she is with her life. Aiden, is one wonderful book boyfriend that is there when needed, even thou Sibby refuses to go public with their relationship. If you like laughter with your love story, you don’t want to miss this great read.
This is a funny easy read. It is well written and the characters are hilarious. I really enjoyed reading this light hearted romantic comedy. Be prepared to laugh out loud. I highly recommend.
Loved this book. Have bought all the rest of the series.
This promises to be hilarious and it absolutely delivers. Mixed in are a few romances but it mostly focuses on Sibby’s (The Klutz). She is a very lovable klutz. It is key to throw out any reasonable thinking and go with the story. If you can let go and have fun, then you will get to laugh out loud and giggle and other fun reactions all the way through.
I enjoyed this story because it took me places I didn’t expect. And made me laugh too.
05/13/2021 I laughed-out-loud numerous times while reading “Queen of Klutz” (nook). Ms. Garman has a great sense of humor and that was evident in this story! I loved how Aiden and Sibby met. Their love story is subdued yet intense.
A cute story, funny and amusing.
This unique writing style and nontraditional romance makes the book a fun read. Sibby takes a “temporary” job as a waitress. Each chapter is filled with funny things that happen to her while waitressing at an Italian restaurant. These little scenes are mixed in with the romance story. I had to get used to this style and ended up liking it. Aidan is the hot manager at the restaurant. Their love story sneaks up on you and Aidan was in love with Sibby long before she admitted having feelings for him. If you’re looking for a book that colors outside the typical romance lines, you should give this one a try!
Such a fun book! You will have a smile on your face the whole way through, loved it!
This book was a joy. As someone in the restaurant industry this was a great little peak in to the world of servers (though I’d love to hear a bit more about so baby’s chef best friend. Spin off?!)
Sibby is a joy on the page and watching her fall miserably and then try to put the pieces back together is oh so entertaining. A great beach read!
Didn’t like the characters, plot or writing style. A big disappointment.
