Once again Kennedy Ryan has crafted a beautiful and brilliant epic love story that has become a top favorite of mine for 2020! There is not a K Ryan book that I do not love, and yet they are all unique in the stories they tell. K Ryan writes “smart” romance… stories that are not only epic love tales, but are also relevant to social and current issues. Queen Move was no different. It is empowering, inspirational, and its diverse characters have left a mark in this contemporary romance genre.
The story of Ezra and Kimba covers decades of time and personal trials and tribulations. However, their connection from childhood to adulthood is timeless. Every scene they are in together is electric, their words are magical and genuine, and their love for each other is apparent and runs deep. The prose of K Ryan’s writing along with this brilliant childhood-friends-to-lovers tale is simply captivating.
Ezra is protective, loyal and compassionate as an adolescent, and that only grows in his adulthood. The moment when Ezra and Kimba are reunited as adults, their connection brought tears to my eyes. There is so much underlying love between them that was brought right back to the surface, and it was an emotional roller-coaster reading how these two navigate their possible future together. But through every challenge, Ezra was a strong force. His feelings never wavered for Kimba and the passion and love he had for her was OH SO SWOON-WORTHY!!!! I fell for this man HARD!!!!
Kimba is the definition of an empowering heroine. She is smart, determined, sassy, and will fight to protect both those she loves and represents politically. She has a moral compass and values that were passed down to her by her parents, and her flashbacks to her dad’s words of wisdom were invaluable. I loved her fierceness and how she never backed down, yet allowed herself to show her vulnerabilities and let her armor crack with Ezra. It was during these moments that I fell for her and them even more.
I cheered Kimba & Ezra on SO MUCH, and cried both tears of heartache and joy throughout their story. But what I loved the most was that it was so organic and natural. It felt SO REAL. K Ryan once again brought characters to life and allowed me to experience an epic love story that was captivating, passionate and out of the box in the contemporary romance genre. Well done once again K Ryan! I hope we get more of these two again in the future!

Exceptional! Queen Move breaks the mold… The only word that accurately describes a Kennedy Ryan story is utterly powerful.
Queen Move has the feel of an instant classic. One that I’ll re-read whenever I need something to to freshen my mind, soul and spirit.
Kimba and Ezra are a compelling and relatable characters who you’ll root for, learn from and be inspired by.
This is so much more than a love story, it’s one of self-discovery, forgiveness, friendship, family, and history.
I can’t recommend it enough and it’s one of my favorite books this year!
I finished this book days ago and I CANNOT stop thinking about it. Kimba and Ezra’s second chance romance is truly epic, with real, finely wrought emotions and all the power of deep, true love. The power of these characters, how they face their obstacles and live their lives, honestly took my breath away. This book deserves a universe of stars.
I’m coming to Kennedy Ryan’s world as a complete novice but I can say she easily drew me with Queen Move. Ryan is an expert wordsmith and her deep humanity is all over this book. Ezra and Kimba are soul mates who fate forced apart. The way they find their way back is the soul of this book. I highly recommend Queen Move. It’s the joyous, heartfelt romance we need right now.
And she did it again. But unlike Britney, there was no oops involved.
Queen Movie is another powerful, moving, and completely engrossing love story from Ms. Ryan. As much as I’ve loved all of her other books, I don’t think I’ve truly felt like this about one since Be Mine Forever, (#TeamCam forever and always!).
This was such an incredible second chance romance, I cried through the last 10%. Not only was this a second chance romance, it was a romance between childhood friends who reconnect years later- my kryptonite! I loved seeing Ezra and Kimba through the years, from the first time they shared a tub together until they were reunited decades later. But oh how my heart hurt thinking about the years they were separated.
Kennedy Ryan is the queen herself when it comes to writing strong, empowered heroines, and Kimba Allen is no different. She’s fierce, knows how to take charge, and takes no prisoners. She just might be my favorite female character Ms. Ryan has written.
Ezra, oh Ezra. What an incredible man! If Kimba takes the top spot as my favorite KR heroine, Ezra is right up there with Cam for me, when it comes to her heroes. He’s loyal, caring, and the best parts of a dominant alpha.
If two people were meant to be together, it was Kimba and Ezra.
Don’t expect to come through this book unscathed, this is Kennedy Ryan we’re talking about after all- she doesn’t shy away from putting her readers through the wringer! But that’s what’s so wonderful about her stories- the way she’s able to make us think and feel as we immerse ourselves in her worlds. Queen Move is no different. Kimba and Ezra’s love story is an emotional, hard fought fight to the very end. And I loved it.

GIVE ME IT ALL! You are going to love it so so much! It’s such a beautiful story and romance!
KENNEDY! Every. Damn. Time. I am dazed after every damn book. She never fails to write incredibly intelligent, moving stories with wonderfully deep characters. Kimba and Ezra are all of these things and so much more.
I fell hard for Kimba and Ezra’s friendship from that very first bath when they were babies where their mothers bonded. The relationships within their own families and the one that their families shared had so much to do with how they each grew into the inspirational adults they became. These interactions with their respective family members had a huge impact on shaping this story and it is stirring. Even at a young age though, it was apparent that these two would do great things.
We should all want to be a Kimba or an Ezra and we should all hope that our person was a Kimba or an Ezra. Kennedy knocked it out of the park with shaping and writing these two characters, and their story is molded perfectly around their exceptional personalities and strengths. Kimba deserves our #womancrushwednesday shouts ALL DAY EVERY DAY. She is driven and just and poised and intelligent. She is who I want to be when I grow up. And Ezra? Forget about it! This man is steadfast, loyal and completely devoted and he makes no apologies for going after what he wants. He is the definition of committed and his support of all things Kimba is so damn heartwarming. Their chemistry is heavy and their connection has always just been.
You know what I loved most though? These characters are mature. This story IS mature. There is no unnecessary drama, and it’s one of the most engrossing and provoking stories I’ve read. The impact these characters make on the people around them is awe-inspiring. They approach each other and life with care and thought and it’s endearing and so so lovely. Damn. 5 plus plus plus stars for this “always meant to be” book!
I had the pleasure of beta reading this gorgeous piece of art and all I can say is, as always, you will not be disappointed picking this one up. As always, Kennedy BRINGS it. This book is in a league in its own.
Rated 4.5 Stars
There’s only one word I can use to describe Queen Move – epic. It spans practically Kimba and Ezra’s entire life, from baby to adulthood. I loved their journey, it wasn’t smooth and it certainly wasn’t easy but it was well worth the ups and downs and highs and lows. I loved how fierce and strong Kimba was as well as her vulnerability. I loved that Ezra was kind, loving and a perfect complement to Kimba. These two were fire on the page. Their chemistry was off the charts, leap off the page smack you in the face hot. I loved it and highly recommend it to all.

Queen Move is an epic childhood friends to lovers romance that spans decades. Kennedy Ryan is a master storyteller and an expert in grand stories that spans years. With Queen Move I got everything I could ever ask for. Multi layered characters and a strong well developed storyline with relatable and very relevant subject matters. Ryan doesn’t shy away and tackles them head on and flawlessly intertwine these with Kimba and Ezra’s story.
Queen Move or should I say Kimba’s move. This is Kimba’s book and what a brilliant book it is. I enjoy a strong, determined and sexual woman and that’s exactly what Kimba is. I root for women like Kimba. I applaud women like Kimba who does what she wants and not what’s expected of her. Whether it’s her as a woman in general or what her family expects of her. Kimba does what Kimba wants.
Ezra Stern is the perfect match to Kimba. Their story which begins at a very early age captured me immediately and held me spellbound until the final page. Ezra is also a person who chooses with his heart and once he sets his mind to something he’ll achieve it.
Their story is so much more than romance. For me it’s also the evolution of how Kimba and Ezra became these two influential people who fell in love. They both come from different backgrounds. I was deeply engrossed all thanks to Ryan’s dedication to the overall story and her attention to details regarding certain religions and cultures.
Queen Move is groundbreaking . It has a voice that needs to be heard. It’s relevant and it resonated with me on a deeper level. Once again this author has left me in awe and speechless. A truly remarkable reading experience.
5+ I Want To Be Her Last Stars
Another phenomenal read by Kennedy Ryan. From the prologue you’ll become engrossed in this beautiful story about soulmates and fate. Ezra and Kimba’s journey is filled with angst and a love that was destined from the start. Their chemistry is palpable, their push and pull is electric. Kennedy Ryan has a way with words that pulls you in and gives you all the FEELS. Hold on for this roller coaster ride of emotions from this fantastically written passionate storyline. A definite must read!
Kennedy Ryan does it again! Combining sweet nostalgia with the important issues she never shies away from, Queen Move is nothing less than wonderful. I couldn’t put it down and never wanted it to end!
A beautiful story of second chance love, with a fierce heroine true to the title, Kimba is a Queen!
I LOVED this book! It’s a second-chance, single dad contemporary romance with a couple that has a history dating back to babyhood! It’s a truly beautiful story!
Kimba and Ezra’s story has it all! It’s a steamy, enthralling must-read!
OMG! The blurb alone was enough to make my heart pitter patter.

I’m always saying this, but Kennedy, Ryan always knows how to amaze me with each of her books, I’ve never been disappointed about one of her stories.
When Kimba and Ezra story jump into my Kindle, I was imagining so many things. They’re so much more and what I’ve liked about this book is the representation, I was so proud to read about a POC after Iris, Lotus, Banner and Lennix, Kimba inspires me. She’s a fictional character, but she’s so real for me, independent, powerful, how she doesn’t let people walk on her.
Then we got Ezra a biracial man, I’ve could relate to his story with his mom so how people are not subtle with sentence you know what I mean “ are you the nanny?” But still his parents went where he could find himself and be himself too.
Queen Move felt so right, Kennedy’s music reference puts joy in me and feed my brain with music I’ve forgot.
This is why you need to read Kennedy Ryan’s books, because in each story you’ll find reality, what is happening in our world, country, she put reality in fiction, in Grip but also here in Queen Move.
“It’s legislation designed to combat discrimination against people of color for wearing natural or protective hairstyles. This is a form of racial injustice with measurable economic consequences. CROWN stands for Create a Respectful and Open Workplace for Natural Hair.”
Kennedy Ryan blows me away with her writing every time. Every. Single. Time. With every book she writes, she solidifies just how talented she is. You can feel the heart and the passion in every single book, every chapter, every word. Queen Move was one of the best friends to lovers romances I’ve ever read.
Kimba is a secondary character from ‘The Kingmaker’ and when I met her in that book, I knew I wanted her story. She is unapologetically herself and a strong and independent woman. I wasn’t sure what man would be able to take her on, but Ezra Stern has what it takes.
Ezra and Kimba were best friends from the time they were infants until their teenage years when Ezra’s family moved out of the country. Ezra and Kimba always had a special bond, and unbreakable friendship. They’ve been out of each others lives for so many years and things are complicated, but it’s obvious even after all this time, these two belong together.
There are parts towards the end of this story that are angsty and a bit…messy. This could have been handled in a bad way, but Kennedy handled it perfectly. I was worried this twist of the story would make me love the book a little less, but it only made me love these characters and their story even more. They were resilient and strong and proved that their love was for real, even during hard times.
This book was special. This story was important. These characters moved me. I can’t get enough of Kennedy Ryan’s works and I hope she never ever stops writing. If you’re looking for an epic book that has steam, an incredible prose, and will give you all the feels, pick up Queen Move!
