Ridley Rushmore is the meanest Queen Bee that ever buzzed the halls of the elite Greenbridge Academy. Her mega-rich parents have spoiled her rotten out of guilt over their failed marriage. This Christmas, however, both of her parents have been acting weird. Instead of flying off to spend the holidays at one the family’s many resort properties, Ridley’s engaged mother is making her stay home for … for Christmas, and has even invited her gold digging yoga instructor fiance and his geeky gamer son, Crosby, to spend the week. When she runs head long into the graphic-tee-wearing brick wall that is her future step brother, however, Ridley realizes he is anything but the gamer boy she pictured in her head. Needless to say, this nerd won’t be spending any time at all holed up in her mother’s basement. Things take an awkward turn when she heads back to her final semester at Greenbridge Academy, and her geeky little secret starts to come out. Will she and Crosby be able to keep the buzz to a minimum or will their inability to keep their eyes and hands off each other risk both their reputations?
Books already out in the Greenbridge Academy series:
Swim Coach (slow, SLOW burn, age gap 18h/24H)
Grumpy Dad (a grumpy single dad meets sunshine Kindergarten teacher)
Benefactor (sugar daddy)
Headmistress (OW/YM age gap)
more
Ridley is a return character from swim coach, she is the ultimate mean girl. Rich, entitled with layers as thick as an onion, her verbage will make your eyes water like one to.
Crosby is kind, sweet and considerate he is also going to be Ridleys new step brother.
This book takes you through Crosby peeling back the layers one at a time careful not to take to much at a time but just enough that Ridley’s character morphs into a likable one. The book is definitely steamy.
Has some snark but very little about Ridley and Crosby’s relationship as it forms. These two opposites rub off on each other.
Crosby maybe a gentle soul but he in no way lets Ridley run away from him. His interest in her maybe foreign to him but he welcomes the challenge.
Out of all the Greenbridge Academy books Ridley and Crosby’s story was my all time favorite! Both of them had an instant connection when they first met and they were obviously each other’s soul mates even though they came from such different lives. Crosby was deemed the nerd but he was really a super caring, loyal, alpha goodness character and he was amazing for Ridley. I love when characters we don’t really like in past books get redemption arcs, and Ridley got the story she deserved and the HEA in Queen Bee. Loved this story and can’t wait for the next!
A stepbrother and a student teacher story, this book was another amazing read from this author. I love the setting and the plot of this story and found myself very happy with the outcome. I write that because if you have read Swim Coach then you will remember that the heroine of this story was the bully of that story. It takes a talented author to write a HEA for a less then desirable character from another book. This author did it will great skill. I actually really loved her in this book and am beyond happy that she found her HEA. I am a sucker for step brother stories and this was an awesome one. 4.25 stars.
To take the mean girl Ridley, who first tormented Addie in Swim Coach and make you like her is an amazing feat. Seen as cold, spoiled, and a bully there is more to her than what is on the surface. When Crosby crashes into her life for the holidays, the attraction is immediate. Crosby’s dad is Ridley’s mom’s fiance and the thought of being step-siblings isn’t a great one. Crosby has never felt this way and he will stop at nothing to have Ridley in his life permanently and not as a step-sister. Crosby sees the true Ridley and his acceptance of her true self, is life changing. I really came to love Ridley, her relationship with Crosby is so stinking cute. Crosby is just so geeky and hot at the same time, I couldn’t help but adore him. Abby Knox is simply the best, she is one of my favorite authors.
I really wanted to like Ridley’s story…I mean can it get any better than to have the rich princess falling for the nerdy step-brother?!?
But I didn’t really enjoy this one like I did with the rest of the series.
I felt like the first maybe 25-30% was okay. It was easy to read and I was following along great. Then it seems like after Christmas when Crosby left the story seemed to jump around all over the place and then just jump in time so many different places.
Ridley was a bit cold for me, but I guess that’s to be expected given how she was raised. But at the end her mother seems to do an about face and then becomes this warm mother who tries to do things with her daughter in mind. I guess this about face seemed out of place and kind of came out of nowhere.
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book**
“Queen Bee” is the fifth book in Abby Knox’s Greenbridge Academy Series. In this book we meet beautiful, sexy, (not so) spoiled Ridley. Heir to a huge family fortune, the queen of Greenbridge Academy where she is a senior. Highly misunderstood by both her parents she is very much alone in the world. Except when one man, her future stepbrother see’s her. Crosby is a gaming nerd. Smart, motivated, geeky yet sexy. He falls hard for the blonde beauty because he see’s more than just her physical appearance. The two fall head over heels for each other and get their much deserved happily ever after. TBR this book and if you haven’t read the other books in the series: Swim Coach, Grumpy Dad, Benefactor and Headmistress, TBR those as well, trust me you won’t regret it.
Loved this wonderful story!!!
Ridley is nineteen and in her final year of high school because her parents started her in kindergarten a year later than all the other kids to give her an advantage. She’s the Queen Bee of the mean girls and everyone follows her lead. On Christmas break she meets her mother’s fiancé, Neil and her soon to be stepbrother, Crosby. Her and Crosby are instantly attracted to each other and end up sneaking around to be together. What happens when school starts back up and Crosby finds out she’s still in high school and he’s the newest teacher???? This is a great read and I highly recommend it!
I was anxiously awaiting Ridley’s book and Queen Bee was better then I imagined. Ridley is sweeter then you know. Crosby is a nerd, and falls for Ridley from the beginning. A beautifully written book that enthralls you and lets you know love can find you when you least expect it.
Queen bee, mean rich girl Ridley has met her match in Crosby. He is the total opposite of Ridley. Kind sweet considerate. But he in no way puts up with Ridley trying to push him away.
I loved everything about this book.
I read an advanced copy.
