“The perfect entry point into the steamy, show-stopping Knuckleheads MC Series…”
My name is Betty Wright – but for fifteen years, I was known as “Big Bertha” – the roughest, toughest, baddest biker bitch in history, and Queen Bee of the legendary Knuckleheads Motorcycle Club. I’d ridden a million miles or more as matriarch to America’s most notorious biker gang. If my lover, Coyle, was the … notorious biker gang. If my lover, Coyle, was the swinging dipstick of the Knuckleheads, I was their big, beating heart.
Together, we scooped up broken veterans, wounded warriors, and lost souls – and gave them new life and purpose as we rode the highways and byways of America’s southwest. I’d loved every minute of it.
But no ride lasts forever, right?
One day, almost like waking from a dream, I realized the ride of my life was over. The Knuckleheads had disbanded, Coyle had retired, and suddenly I was back to being plain, old “Betty” – trapped in the same kind of suburban prison I’d once desperately tried to run away from.
I’d come full circle – only fifteen years older, tired and tattooed, and with nothing to show for it all except one, specific regret:
In becoming Queen Bee, I’d turned my back on the only two men who’d ever really loved me: Knuckleheads Rob “Rooker” Hagen, and Garret “Bowser” Barone.
I thought I’d lost them forever.
But sometimes, when you least expect it, you get a second chance.
When the remaining Knuckleheads come pounding on my door, begging for my help, I know this is my one, last shot at happiness. They need me to take one last ride – to save Rooker and Bowser from ruthless gunmen in the wilderness of Montana – and I’m the only girl with the stones to do it…
It might be a suicide mission – but those two men are worth it even if it is.
All my life, I’ve followed my head instead of my heart. Now, it’s time to take one last shot at love.
After all, it might be the only thing that keeps the three of us alive.
Queen Bee is the perfect standalone introduction to the thrilling Knuckleheads MC series – exploring these steamy, show-stopping stories like never before. Featuring the feistiest female protagonist yet, some of the sexiest bad-boys in history, and a story rich with emotional intensity and explicit, underwear melting sensuality, you’ll be on the edge of your seat throughout.
You’ll experience delirious highs, crushing lows, and terrifying thrills as you join Betty on this wild adventure – but one eventual destination is always guaranteed: A happily-ever-after, with proof that love can overcome any roadblock.

WOW! This is my first Simone Scarlet book. I wasn’t sure about reading it but once I started I could not put it down. Betty is trying to fit in somewhere and decides to follow the Knucklehead Motorcycle Gang. She discovers she is stronger than she thought and goes on a journey of self-discovery, lust, bonding, and kick-ass action. I was pleasantly surprised and in awe of Betty and her Knuckleheads.
I have read all the Knucklehead Books and “thought” I knew the story of “Big Bertha” or Betty but boy was I wrong! Her story if told with flash backs from her past interspersed with present day action. And when I say action, not only am I talking about her legendary days when she was the Matriarch of the Knuckleheads for over 15 years but in the present day action. It just shows that you may take the Queen Bee out of the Knucklehead Motor Cycle Club but once a Knucklehead, always a Knuckelhead. There is plenty of nail biting action as well as some hot and heavy sex scenes that Simone Scarlet is so famous for writing. If you love all things Knucklehead then this is definitely one to add to your own private collection to read again and again and again.
The first part is about how Betty slurped her way into becoming Bertha, the second part is how she lost everything and found a chance to help her two past loves, the last part is finding her friends, escaping a deadly ambush and getting back to Coyle
I was not prepared to love this as much as I did! Betty/Bertha’s story had to be told, and I’m so glad I gave it a chance. Emotional, action packed, surprises, and steamy enough to vaporize anything nearby. Bee has been through so much and still came out on the other side a strong resilient character that I enjoyed getting to know more about. This is the icing on the cake to an amazing series!
I’m so glad Big Bertha got a second happy ending!! This book is steamy, dangerous, exciting and has a kick ass heroine! In the first Knuckleheads book, I didn’t like Big Bertha very much. I sure do now! Couldn’t put this book down!!!
I loved this book, which you may find contradictory after you’ve read the rest of my review, but I’m being honest here.
Betty/Bertha/Queen Bee was twenty-two when her friend took her out to a biker bar, where she meet Coyle, the leader of the Knuckleheads, an outlaw biker gang made up of veterans. After spending one night in Coyle’s bed, she decides she doesn’t have anything to go home to, tells her friend to leave her there, and goes on the road with the Knuckleheads. She thought she understood the motto, Nobody Rides for Free, but she will eventually realize she really had no clue. Now that being said, I have to admit that I really didn’t care for the Queen Bee of the Knuckleheads, I thought she was a violent, with absolutely no redeeming qualities, if you have read the first book in the series you might understand why I felt that way. After reading her story, I think I understand her a little better, what made her the way she is, and her motivations. While I’m still not sure I like Queen Bee, I mean come on Coyle told her on day one that there would never be anything other than sex between them.
This in an action packed thrill ride with lots of violence, deliciously down and dirty sex scenes, and answers a lot of questions I had about Bertha. The characters are sexy, unique, and absolutely fascinating. Fantastic book!
Oh boy was Betty/Big Bertha ever strong. She came into a biker bar with her longtime friend to have a little fun at the age of 22 as a blonde hair, blue eyed California girl and decided there was nothing for her at home so she was going on the road with the Knuckleheads MC. She was by Coyle’s side this whole time because he saw something in her that his club needed and that was for her heart. She listened to their stories among other things (wink, wink) For fifteen years Betty was the backbone of this MC and she finally figured she’d had enough. It was time to make a life for herself because Coyle had always told her from the very first day that he would never love her. She was to be there for the club not him.
This dirty biker read is full of everything you could want in an MC book. It was great seeing how strong Betty actually was and the road she took to get her HEA. Don’t read this if you don’t like s*x and violence because it is chocked full of it but adding so much to the storyline. I’m a definite follower of this author now.
An absolute thrill a minute of non-stop action
Queen Bee: A Bad-Boy Military MC Romance (Knuckleheads MC – Book 9) by Simone Scarlet is an exceptionally well written MC romance. This book is my introduction to Simone Scarlet as a writer and to the world of the Knuckleheads MC. I am completely enamored with this author and her Knuckleheads. Queen Bee is the perfect introduction too, I am so glad that I gave it a try. You can be sure that I will be binge reading everything Knuckleheads MC I can get my hands on.
Queen Bee was like the ultimate wild thrill ride roller coaster in the dark creating a sense of urgency, danger and suspense. It’s a fast ride with more thrills than you can prepare for; steep climbs, free fall drops, speeding through loops, unexpected slowing then 0-90 mph only to be thrown into barrel rolls that leave your head spinning. It’s all that and so much more because of the characters. Betty is just an amazingly strong women who’s all real, so very vulnerable and full of heart. She struggles with her decision, what to do next, but keeps going the best way she knows how no matter the result of those decision.
As with most MC romances, this one is full of heat. It’s gritty, raw and steamy action will leave you panting, sweating, and dying of thirst as much as the danger and suspense. There’s plenty of all of that going on. But the best part, the rare, timely sweet moments that keep the characters so very real.
Overall, a wonderfully well written MC Romance with just about everything a romance reader who loves MC, military, suspense and an author with a captivating story to tell including an much deserved and long over due HEA for Betty, Rooker and Bowser.
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
Steamy. Part one was a little slow to me. There were sentences that were repetitive. I like part two and three. They had a good pace. I liked Betty more in part two and three.
Whoa! I love MC romances and this is my first by this author. However, it will not be my last. I know it’s a prequel to the series and others indicated it gives them a good notion as to why Betty was the way she was but I like that I read this one first because it gives me a good sense of what’s to come. It’s thrilling, sexy, exciting, suspenseful and all around great!
I started this series with the 3 Book Bundle and I need to take the time to get this series in a timeline since I have others I have not yet read. I read Queen Bee and I could not set it down. Right from the start this author pulled me in and the story kept a strong, action filled pace all the way through. The characters are so well developed that they became like old friend. Most of these characters have been introduced in previous stories. Betty, I felt was made so much harsher, colder and rough previously. Before I felt she was more a person of circumstance and she appeared down right mean where in this story I got a softer feel for her. Before I felt she would make a decision and felt stuck with it. In this story she seemed softer and kept justifying her choices. I actually ended up being mad for her where Coyle was concerned where before I felt more sorry for Coyle and his being stuck in a lifestyle. One thing previously Raine was suppose to be Coyle’s older brother and here I felt the term brother was more like acquaintance. I also have mixed feelings about Izzie. I really liked to flow of this story. It answered questions I didn’t even know I had until I got that aha from it. I really enjoyed this book. I will be recommending it to my friends. It just pulled together a little more of the background for me and gave me a better feel for the characters. I was given a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review.
