Alta Hensley and Zoe Blake teamed up to bring us a trilogy of twisted fairy tales. Snow and the Seven Huntsmen, Red and the Wolves, and Queen and the Kingsmen all are dark and delicious reverser harem romances. Each one will curl your toes in the most delightful way!
This is my favorite of the three Dirty Fairy Tale stories by the wicked writing duo Alta Hensley and Zoe Blake.
I just loved the Queen; she is an immortal, strong, gifted Queen, who has seen her world been taking and destroyed by men. But she is not cold hearted. She is confident, sassy, fierce, loyal to the ones she loves and she loves to play. She has a wicked sense of humor.
The four Kingsmen have been given job to do and that is to break the Queen and get answers. Each of the men has his own idea of how to break the Queen. the only trouble; they underestimate her andthe feeling she stirs up.
There is a lot of action, laugh out loud moment and It is also a dark, filthy story just what you can expect for these two writers.
I love these dark romances by these authors. These books are not for the faint of heart. So if you don’t mind some dub-con, and discipline then this is the book for you.
I love how mischievous the Queen is.
I would definitely recommend this to my friends that are like minded about books.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Queen & The Kingsmen is another dark twisted fairy tale and 5-star read. Love this author duo’s writing, separately they are amazing but together their writing is brilliant. A King, a Queen, a Princess and four deliciously sexy Kingsmen make this a fantastic must read!
It quickly became my favorite. Instead of a heroine we get a glimpse into the mind of a villain, and what a fun one the Queen is. If you enjoy a dark fairy tale this will definitely keep you on the edge of your seats. I fell in love with the Queen’s sass and confidence. It gave me a whole new perspective on an old tale. It was amazing and enjoyable to see the Queen’s journey of pain and pleasure. To me it seemed a little darker than the rest and had me hooked!

Here we are at Dark Fantasy Book #3 and it is just as dark and great as the previous two.
Zoe Blake and Alta Hensley make an amazing duo, writing these amazing books. I love them. Queen, I felt, is based off of the Maleficent movie with Angelina Jolie. Although they never really described what Zella looks like, that is what I imagined her as. The story even follows the movie’s plot a little bit. Not completely. The twists and liberties they took with their retelling was better. What I didn’t enjoy with this one is the way the relationship with the characters developed. With Snow and Red it took time for her to fall in love with them. That was part of the fun of reading it. With this one, I felt it rushed, but I understand why they did it due to the nature of the story. This book had more to it then just the sex scenes.
I truly do recommend this series and will tell anyone who will listen about them.
Queen & The Kingsmen the third book in the Dark Fantasy series. This isn’t your mother’s fairytale.
It is a very adult and very kinky. How much is too much? As much as I love reading erotica I almost felt that this was way over the top. I think that is what these authors were striving for but, I think it was too far over the top for me. There was almost no story line due to all the kinkiness that was going on.
I love reading books by Alta Hensley. I have just discovered Zoe Blake with the last kinky fairytale, Red and the Wolves (which I gave 4.5 stars for). I give Queen & The Kingsmen 3.5 stars. I do look forward to reading more books by these authors.
Zoe Blake and Alta Hensley’s “Queen and the Kingsmen” was a fun romp through a fairytale with a delicious twist. In this story, we are treated to an alternate telling of the life of Briar Rose and Zelladine, who although not named as such, makes a wonder fairy godmother. Like the other stories in the Dark Fantasy series, this one moves quickly and you’ll either be chuckling along with Zelladine or reaching for a glass of wine. Both are excellent responses to an engaging story. While each story in this series is a standalone, to understand the inside jokes and get the full Blake and Hensley fairytale telling experience, you should read them in order.
What am I gonna explain to my grandkids, why is grandma “moist” when reading their favourite fairytales!! **smh** I swear these two minxes have kinked up all the childhood fables and now I need to be IN them.
Queen Zelladine ruled over the ethereal realm, deep in the forest where magic and mysticism still reigned. she’s kidnapped and supposedly killed Princess Briar, so the father, King Basil is furious. She’s a powerful Queen, equipped with powerful spells to cast on her enemeiesand capture them in her haze. Escape is a child’s play for her.
He sends Kingsmen to capture her and get her to hand over Briar’s dead body for proper burial. Kingsmen have their own hidden powers to get the Queen in their Amethyst cage.
“It takes dark magic to fight dark magic,”
At first it’s a game of torture. The Kingsmen try and break her in. But now the Queen has tasted Carnal pain and taken pleasure in it, she’s like a Horny Submissive, topping from below. She almost abdicated her powers to experience sexual delights like a mortal
Was I not complicating my feelings for Troylus, Regin, Gripir and Sigmun? Had these men not proved to me that we all shared some sort of connection? Wanted or not? Was I not still fighting them and it? Fighting the delicious thrill of pleasure and pain that each encounter with them brought me?
And thus begin the Gang Banging Dom/Sub scenes set in their castle. The sexual acts are hardcore and some of the words like “Cunny” affirm that’s this all was Zoe’s brain working overtime
#LetsBlameZoe. And #KeepItUpAlta
The Kingsmen also fall for their toy and are so adamant in keeping her for themselves, they fight the King’s army for her. The battle was very described in detail
The stories are horny, explicit, heavy BDSM, boundary pushing and an absolute wet delight!!
Juicy morsels cooked in perfect Smutty sauce. There’s cherry popping delight, there’s Wax play, anal, orgy, and believe it or not a fantastic use of ice!!!
“That’s it, your majesty. Tongue my ass.”
Bahahahahahahahahaha
“Your Majesty” is a nasty slutty mind who manipulates the Kingsmen for her own pleasure.
Who’s the master now ?!
4 Hafrn stars
~WRITING – PLOT – PACE~
I am a tiny bit undecided on whether this book or RED AND THE WOLVES is my favorite out of the series. I am leaning towards this one because the heroine was simple bombdiggety. In any case, this was another fantastic book by these two authors. The writing was great. It was a super quick read that ended at 86% on my Kindle app. Similar to the first two books in this series this one was told from Queen Zelladine’s POV. I prefer dual POV and personally, I think all three books would have been that much better had we gotten some POVs from the heroes. The plot was engaging and original. Last, it was all wrapped up in a kinky sweet ending.
~HEROES~
TROYLUS, SIGMUN, REGIN, and GRIPIR…I really liked all four of the Kingsmen. At first, I was worried we were going to get a repeat of the overly cold heroes of book one, but I am happy to report that wasn’t the case. There were still a few things that made me cringe, but these authors did a good job of “humanizing” all four.
~HEROINE~
QUEEN ZELLADINE…honestly? Zella stole the show in this book. I ADORED her. She was feisty. She was kinky. She was a pain slut. She held her own with all four Kingsmen (I simply adored the dungeon scene). She was pretty much perfect in every single way for me.
~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
Again, like previous books, this one was very light on secondary characters. I did enjoy Briar Rose, and I laughed my butt off that Snow and her awful rabbit stew made an appearance. The majority of the book was focused on Zella and her interactions with the four Kingsmen.
~HEAT LEVEL~
HIGH. This is pretty much pure smut. Dirty kinky smut. Whipping. Spanking. Anal with an icicle. Dubious consent. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a scene with all four doing Zella at the same time (double P).
~ANGST LEVEL – SEXUAL HISTORIES~
LOW. This really wasn’t an angsty read. Even the acrimonious exchanges between Zella and all four of the Kingsmen were on the low side. Zella was a virgin. I am guessing the Huntsmen were not, but there is zero mention of their sexual pasts.
~IN THE END~
I enjoyed this one a lot. It was pure smutty goodness. The writing was great. It was fast paced and the plot unique. It had humor. The Kingsmen were sexy and likable, and Zella was fantastic. Not much left for me to say. Therefore yours truly is going to give this one two very huge thumbs up.
Queen Zelladine rules the forest like no other. When she whisks Briar Rose away to supposed death from her father, King Basil’s, court he sends the Kingsmen after her to bring her to heel. Finding herself imprisoned and without her powers for the first time the Queen must rely on her intelligence and will to stay strong against their onslaught to break her and force her submission.
The longer she is imprisoned, however, The Queen learns more about her deepest desires . . . perhaps she is a bit wicked, for she surely enjoys being punished. And, the forced submission by the Kingsmen allows her to feed the inner masochist she didn’t even realize existed.
When the King comes for Zella, however, the Kingsmen are not so willing to hand her over . . .should she focus on escape or give in to her desires to remain under their control?
The final book in the series, The Queen and the Kingsmen was the perfect ending to this trio of dark erotic fairy tales. I love that the wicked queen really isn’t so wicked. She does give the Kinsmen one heck of a run for their money, however, for her submission is not easily forced. When it is won, however, it’s a win for all involved.
The authors did a great job of tying all three books together in this finale, although it truly is Zella’s tale. And, while she is the one being forced into submission, it is most definitely at her own choice. 4 stars for this dark tale of forced seduction.
Another fun, erotic take on an old fairytale. But, from the queen’s point of view.
Not good.
Holy hotness!! Saying this book was hot is an understatement. This book was on fire! I LOVED the idea of a super and powerful queen being forced to submit and being punished to get her secrets out. This is a book you won’t wanna put down and will leave you on edge until the end! Amazing book!
Loved it!!
Will the evil Queen of all the mystical land be captured?
“Over my dead body would I ever submit to anyone…even the kingsmen.”
Zoe Blake and Alta Hensley have proven themselves once again that their wicked ways can truly shine on paper! Their mind craft is addictive and powerful, making for an unputdownable novel.
Queen and the Kingsmen is dirty, ever filthy and magical. We are able to get glimpses of Snow and Red’s lives but this tale is all about the power of mind games and the control in which the Queen and the kingsmen play towards each other… never knowing who’s really in control. You dive into the emotional side to the evil Queen that we have grown up to dislike, come to realize she does things with purpose and there is always in end game to her mystical ways.
“You play with fire woman.” Raising on my toes, I whispered, “Then burn me.”
The third book in their Enchanted dirty tales really rounds out the books. The Queen is taken by the kingsmen to extract information on the whereabouts of an individual. She is tortured by any means necessary, but the kingsmen come to soon realize they have a masochist in their dungeon and she’s loving every obscene, wicked punishment they give her.
Really enjoyed this side of the Queen. Not has raunchy as Snow’s tale, however there are some scenes that might make you cringe in a way, but make you blush at the same time! I love when Zoe & Alta co-write together, you never know what you will get with these two, but make no mistake it will be BRILLIANT!
5 Evil Stars.
Sweet Jesus!! I feel like I need a cool down after reading that, bring on the ice 😉 This series by Zoe and Alta has been dark and dirty in the best ways. As children we love our fairytales, now as adults we can love them even more!!! There’s really not much else to say besides I need a reverse harem of my own!
Dark Fantasy series, Book 3 A gorgeous retelling of a classic fairy tale that will keep you guessing to the last word!
Zelladine’s had it! She’s watched the humans, especially King Basil, plunder her enchanted realm, steal every resource, and destroy the very magic from the land for centuries. They’ve waged war after war in the name of petty power and greed. When she confronts King Basil and his worthless army in his own castle, her curse takes the one thing with any meaning: his daughter, Briar Rose. But Briar has no worth to her father other as a than a commodity. With Briar now permanently gone, Zelladine has no idea what she’s set in motion!. King Basil wants vengeance. The curse must be broken at any cost. Enter the Kingsmen, four men rumored to hold powers as great as those of the all-powerful Zelladine. Surely not, no matter how big and burly they might be. Can the gossip about the Kingsmen actually be truth? One by one, Troylus, Gripir, Regin, and Sigmun show Zelladine exactly what they’re capable of. When they steal her magic, for the first time ever, she knows terror, panic, and despair. The once arrogant and all-powerful Queen is brought to her knees. But, wait. Is there more than pain? Can there also be pleasure? As a new enchanting world creeps in, unknown enemies literally appear out of nowhere. Who are they? Why are they there? The Kingsmen and Zelladine now find themselves in the fight of their lives. Is Zelladine’s magic really gone? Can the Kingsmen stand against these kinds of odds. And what of the curse? Confusion reigns. Can magic make any difference? In the end, if anyone is to survive, it will just take something far beyond mere magic!
Zoe Blake and Alta Hensley have done it again! This definitely isn’t a Disney fairytale. It’s not even the Brothers Grimm story. Ms. Blake and Ms. Hensley have again put their own unique spin on this story and taken the reader to a completely different plane of existence. This version of Sleeping Beauty has been re-imagined and reconstructed in a way that’s exceptional. It’s dark, decadent, and full of surprises from beginning to end. The classic fairy tale is there…buried beneath layers of totally unexpected twists and turns. From the first page, Zelladine contradicts every preconception you can have about the queen in Sleeping Beauty. She’s beautiful, sexy, and has characteristics you could never imagine in the stereotypical queen. The same is true for King Basil, Briar Rose, and the other supporting characters. I especially loved Hrafn. (You’ll have to read the book to find out who he is!) But it’s the Kingsmen that hold center stage for me. They’re truly riveting. Prince Charming? Not in this reality! These men are ruthless, powerful, and just as full of contractions as Zelladine. I adored this book! And, again, Ms. Blake and Ms. Hensley weave moments of humor that bring light and hope into the story. Zoe Blake and Alta Hensley have done it again! Congratulations Ms. Blake and Ms. Hensley! This book deserves nothing less than five stars!
A final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language, dark themes, and dubious/nonconsensual sexual scenes. If you don’t enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON’T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON’T ENJOY THE BOOK. It’s not fair to the authors. They work hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you’ll object to a book’s subject matter before you buy it, you’re doing yourself and the authors an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!
Who will break whom in this deliciously dark romance? The Kingsmen have a job to do, but the Queen is a tough cookie, and it’s a depraved battle of wills to see who will give in. I loved this RH romance, with its fairytale theme. It fit perfectly into this steamy dark series!
I was disappointed with this book. After having read the first two in the trilogy, Iwas eagerly awaiting the final installment. The first two were over the top steamy with a lot of edgy naughty bits. That is exactly where this one falls flat. I story was great, the characters interesting and the plot twists definitely had me hanging in, but the “steam” left me yawning.
