This book was disappointing and has no ending.
can’t wait for next in series!
Not my favorite book of her’s, but entertaining nonetheless.
Twins and tech. This book requires that readers pay attention, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it is made into a movie soon.
This book is the first one in years that I have quit reading at about a 40% read. It just didn’t seem to ever get me interested in any of the plot lines. I like mysteries, and crime fighting stories but this book never turned me on.
QUANTUM had been on my wish list for close to eighteen months, I’m a huge Patricia Cornwell fan, and I was dying to read this book, and I preordered it. The “pre-official release” reviews were overall not good, but I was not deterred. At least, unlike the first reviewers, I had some inkling of what to expect.
Right before writing my review, I reread the blurb, and well, that’s basically the whole story. I expected – and wanted – all the techno stuff, and it was fascinating. I was also very happy to see that the voice is entirely different from Kay Scarpetta’s. The narrative is interesting but painfully, excruciatingly slow. QUANTUM feels like the first chapters of a book, when it ends the story has barely started. I wanted to be ecstatic, but I’m merely pleased. The animation was a bit of a downer; it’s fun but pointless. I was hoping, at least, for some of the razzle-dazzle of Ms. Cornwell’s Facebook posts. I loved all the science but it was all so very, very slow.
Of course, I’m anxiously anticipating SPIN, book 2. We, die-hard Patricia Cornwell fans, are a breed apart I think; she can’t really do no wrong even when she stumbles a little bit.
I have read many of Patricia Cornwells writings…. I know this is a first in a series… I understand the genius … portrayed…. a first book that leaves you HANGING… is just of no interest… there was no resolution … just neurotic tension…. and then… the end…. wait for book 2… there is no satisfaction… The writing is fine…. but the content… just a circle of neurosis… I bought it any way and gave it a chance… I would read the second and hope I was not as disappointed as this….
Not worth buying. Glad I got it for free! If anything it’s worse than the “Ripper “ book. I don’t think I’all be reading any more this series.
Terrible. Confusing .
BORING!!!
Challenging!
