Spring Heralds Mayhem and Murder with 5+/5 Bunches of Delightful Daisies!
Many coziholics, especially me, love multi-author collections because you get to enjoy all at once short snippets of several author’s full-length series and often see the characters in a different predicament. Gemma Halliday Publishing has joined together fourteen of their popular “cozy” authors sharing a short look into their series…cozies, mysteries, and romantic comedies! But don’t let “short” cause you to shy away from this collection, each story is well-written with a depth in its storyline that is very engaging along with continued entertainment of a plethora of rich characters from each author. It’s a delightful “cozy” smorgasbord!
I was very excited to revisit some of my favorite authors—Sally J. Smith and Jean Steffens, Catherine Bruns, Leslie Langtry, Gin Jones, Jennifer Fischetto, Gemma Halliday and Jackson Stein, and Traci Andrighetti—enjoying favorite themes, settings, and characters. It’s been a great introduction to authors I have yet tried leading me to click “Like” on their Facebook pages. But, it is important to note that as a newbie, I was never out of the loop. It was easy to join in and change my newbie status to fans of Barbara Valentin, Erin Huss, Aimee Gilchrist, Jayne Denver, Margaret C. Morse, Carol E. Ayer, and Melissa Baldwin. So many authors, so many delightful reads, such a wonderful time!
A different kind of book. Your sense of humor will need to be a little off center for this one.
Lots of new authors to sample. Several of the stories make you want to read more.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It had a selection of stories from authors I had not read and I plan to look up several of them for more. It was a great introduction to new authors and every story was well written and edited. A great find!
Not great literature, but a wonderful selection of short stories that are fun and engaging. It was a good purchase for me to balance some other heavy and serious books.
Still reading it. Good, so far.
This is a nice sampler of what’s available in the world of cozy mysteries. As such, it spans the spectrum in terms of writing, characters, and plot. On the upside, the stories as short, fast reads. Consequently, if something about one of them doesn’t appeal to you, it won’t last that long. On the downside, it you encounter a writer whose work you like, you’ll wish that entry was longer.
Nice short stories- good introduction to some authors that I then went and read entire series
Kind of a mixed bag,,,,,, liked some stories better than others
