Welcome to Panic, a sultry Miami nightclub where bodies and hearts move to a beat that doesn’t stop at sunrise—the setting for “a magnificent story full of deep emotion” (Sawyer Bennett). Katherine: I thought I could enjoy a night out like a normal person. I thought I could handle the flashing lights, the pulsing music, the crowded dance floor. I couldn’t have been more wrong. After having an … more wrong. After having an anxiety attack and passing out during my sister’s engagement party at Panic, I wake up in the arms of the hottest guy I’ve ever seen. Nick Moreno’s no gentleman. But he might just be the man I need to help me take control of my life.
Nick: When I hear there’s some random girl passed out in the back room of my family’s South Beach nightclub, I’m pissed. My dad’s already behind bars and we can’t afford any more bad press. But after giving her a lift—literally—back to her apartment, I stop seeing Katherine Wilson as some random girl. She’s gorgeous, vulnerable, and braver than she knows. And when we kiss, all I want to do is pull her close and promise that she’ll always be safe in my arms.
No cheating. No cliffhangers. And no dress code.

Not only is this a solid 4-star listen, but it’s one I’ve enjoyed numerous times. Joe Arden & Aletha George are fantastic. Nico & Katherine are an unlikely couple who work hard to overcome his “burned by a previous fiancé” and her massive anxiety issues. Sidney Halston does a good job of portraying what it can be like for someone with such severe anxiety as well as how it impacts their loved ones.
My only major complaint is the Cuban/Spanish accents that aren’t consistent. Sometimes when Nico or Matt are talking the narrators use their referenced heritage, but not always.
Heartfelt and passionate. Loved the connection between Nico and Katherine. Katherine has horrible PTSD and has major difficulty leaving her apartment; it debilitates her. Nico is a club owner who has some stuff in his past that has jaded him. Katherine and Nico don’t get off to the best start because Nico thinks she’s a druggie and he’s not for any of that, but there’s a draw between them. Loved how Nico is there for Katherine; I don’t agree with sex being the incentive to heal though. It felt like Nico was too pompous; felt he was God’s gift. He has his sweetheart moments though, and he is good for Katherine. His description isn’t my type, but I do like his dominance. I’m not too keen on his friends; joking about bridesmaids going after your man if you don’t get over your traumas, felt like a jerk thing to say to me. I liked Katherine. She’s sassy and honest. She’s dealing with something a lot of people don’t understand, and I appreciate her strength working to overcome the PTSD. The romance is sexy and intense; not fully my type of thing, but I’m not going to deny those two are combustible together. Entertaining story all the way through! Looking forward to checking out the rest of the series.
Pull Me Close and Hold me tight
The cover is eye catching. The blurb is brow quirking. But the book itself is heartwarming.
Pull Me Close is riddled with surprises. Not twists but insights into the characters that come out slowly and at the perfect time. I definitely fought tears learning why Katie struggles. There were several parts throughout the book that had me fighting to keep the wet stuff from running down my cheeks.
It’s hard not to fall for the characters in this book. They each make a last impression. I can’t wait to see where they go from here.
Pull Me Close is one of the best books I’ve read all year. It’s well written and emotionally satisfying, with just the perfect level of explosive heat between Nico and Katherine, a realistic, sympathetic heroine in Katherine and a sexy, supportive hero in Nico. Although I’ve never experienced PTSD myself, the way it’s written makes it all too easy to experience what Katherine goes through, all the fear, panic and pain that she suffers through every day. I love that the hero she juxtaposes with Katherine is just as amazing as Katherine, although it takes time before Nico shows just how amazing he is. I took awhile to warm up to him, as he was a complete asshat at first.
Katherine meets Nico at his club, Panic, when she goes there for her sister’s engagement party. Leaving her apartment and going somewhere with a lot of people in an enclosed space isn’t something she’s done for a long time, but she knows she has to do it for her sister’s sake. But, when Katherine’s PTSD and claustrophobia make being there impossible and she passes out, Nico sees and automatically assumes she’s just another junkie. Their meeting is less than ideal, but it makes for an interesting beginning to their relationship. I love how they start off as friends, after Nico gets his head out of his ass, and how supportive and understanding he is of her PTSD and all that entails.
I do believe this is the first in a new series (Panic) and if so, I know that I will be reading all future books in this series!
SOOO GOOOD!
This book brought me to tears a few times just to have me laughing it right off shortly after.
No words of mine could do this book justice that’s why I’ll keep it short because I could gush over this book the whole day but what purpose does it serve? Just get yourself a copy and read it. It’s definitely worth it!
I usually love to highlight special moments in my e-books but in this story I wanted to highlight everything, it was that good.
The Story:
When Katherine collapses in Panic, the club where her sister is having her engagement party, Nico just wants her out of his club because it seems like she is just another junkie on its way to ruin this club’s already bad reputation. Nico has enough experience with drug addicts like her, always on the lookout for their next fix or already stoned.
Since Katie’s passed out in his arms he has no other choice but to bring her home and can’t help but notice how beautiful she is.
Katherine is mortified that he thinks she’s a drug addict and wants to tell him about her panic attacks to ease her mind, though would he even believe her?
Thoughts:
This book has all the feels. I had high expectations because the beautiful cover (Oh I love it so much!) caught my attention at first and the blurb just didn’t let me go until I’ve read this book. And what can I say, it did not disappoint!
I absolutely loved this book. The writing was captivating and I just couldn’t put the book down. I’ve read it almost in one go though a few times I had to pause and take a deep breath. I’m absolutely sure that this story will touch a lot of people’s hearts with its honesty and rawness.
Fear is a feeling that everyone experiences in their life though everybody on a different level of anxiety. It broke my heart reading about Katherine’s severeness of her panic attacks and anxiety disorder. It’s not that I’ve never heard about this before but this was the first book I’ve read that’s dealing with this subject to such an extent. I felt everything Kathrine was going through and it was an really emotional read.
I absolutely loved the characters. Nico was not perfect but felt so real and human and that’s what I loved most about him. He was so attentive and caring. Sometimes I thought he was rather harsh at pushing Katie too much but she obviously needed exactly that, someone to push her to the limit and help her in a way no one else ever did before.
I adored Matt and also Geo and David. Every character had their own background which made them so believable and loveable.
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!! I hope we don’t have to wait too long for it!!
Interesting story line, enjoyed the read.
