***Standalone Romantic Comedy***With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. She isn’t interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. When Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes … becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match.
Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And text. And email and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts. Suddenly, he’s too difficult to ignore, and nearly impossible not to like.
The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

F-Love this book…and all the books that come after it!!! Awesome Author
Never been happier that I clicked a link on FB by accident!!!! This whole series amazing and brought me to a great author.
I enjoyed this well written book. I already read “A Lie for a Lie”, which is a stand-alone that has Alex and Violet in it, so I knew they ended up together with kids. But duh. Of course that’s a given with a HEA. I plan to finished the Pucked Series. Highly recommend it.
fun read
Loved Loved Loved Alex and Violets story, this is the basis of the whole series and was so much fun
Helena Hunting’s ‘Pucked’ is everything I love about a romance novel. Hilarious, witty dialogue? Check. Fiery chemistry between the heroine and the hero? Check. An ensemble cast that leaves me wanting more? Check.
Violet Hall has no desire to hook up with hockey players. That is, until the night she realizes that her stepbrother’s new teammate, Alex Winters, is not just sexy, but smart… and kind of nerdy. After a steamy night together, she thinks it’s all over, but Alex has other ideas.
As someone who isn’t a huge hockey fan, I’d say this book converted me. I can’t wait to read the other books in the series.
This is my first Helena Hunting experience.
She knocked it out of the park for me!
Violet had her heart broken by a hocky player.
She wants nothing to do with them.
Her step‐brother plays for the NHL, and when she goes to one of his games, Alex Waters is checked up against the plexiglass and when their eyes meet its game over.
Alex is known as a player.
The only problem is, he’s really not.
When Violet, shows up at the after party, he decides to get to know her better.
She’s intelligent and funny and when they kiss, it’s like heaven.
The only problem is, she’s a teammates stepsister and she should be off limits.
Violet has never had a one night stand, and she believes Alex is nothing but a player, so he’s a great candidate to be her first. The only problem is, Alex has other plans and will do whatever or takes to get Violet to be his.
This is a hilarious and romantic romcom that had me laughing all the way through it.
With its happy ever after it’s become one of my favorite hockey books.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
I loved it. It was hard to put down once I got started. I know Violet had good cause to be cautious with guys after the ex boyfriend, but Alex is nothing like him. I think he should have fired Dick a long time ago. Dick is a dick. I am just glad that they got everything worked out. I also think that Violet should have set her mother down and told her once and for all that if she didn’t want to loose her daughter she would respect her privacy. I would have ripped her after the first time she just barged into my apartment anytime she wanted. Thank you for the wonderful story, I really enjoyed it.
I loved this book! It had me laughing out loud several times and it also had me crying. But mostly this book left me with a great big smile on my face! I loved the characters of Violet and Alex. They were real with good and bad traits which made them relatable, and some of the situations that they found themselves in were romantic and some were just plain ridiculous, but all were interesting. I really enjoyed reading this book, and I’m excited to read the rest in the series, too. Great job, Helena Hunting!
A obscene, hot, steamy, and hilarious read. She’s a hoot. He’s a marshmallow. They are great together.
NO SPOILERS!
Pucked was so freaking sexy, hilarious, and swoon-worthy, and it made me smile and laugh so many times, I lost count! The storyline and characters were phenomenal and highly memorable, and I loved Helena Hunting’s writing style and sense of humor.
I’m a sucker for sports romance, especially hockey romance, but sometimes it’s hard to find one that balances every aspect well. Helena Hunting did not have that problem. Pucked had the perfect balance of hockey and swoon-worthy romance that left this reader more than satisfied. 😉
I loved Alex and Violet. These two were an absolute delight. I loved their personalities and smoking HOT chemistry together, and how most of their relationship progressed throughout. It was rocky at times, but very enjoyable and entertaining. I loved reading from both Alex and Violet’s points of view, and all of the their witty, playful, dirty, and hilarious banter and interactions with each other. The secondary characters were fantastic as well, and provided plenty of laughs and entertainment.
With lovable characters, an entertaining plot, witty and hilarious banter, and plenty of steamy times, Pucked was a definite MUST READ! I absolutely loved Alex and Violet’s story, and can’t wait to read more standalone sports romantic comedies in the Pucked series!
IT’S A SUPERHERO
I don’t know where I’ve been, but PUCKED is the first book by Helena Hunting I’ve read…and it won’t be the last…Obviously, it’s a love story with a pro hockey player as one of the main characters…
I LOVED ALEX AND VIOLET….flaws and all….I could feel their chemistry…It’s a good love story, and it had so much humor in it….I found myself laughing out loud….And FYI: MC doesn’t always refer to motorcycles….
Great book
I could not put it down.
Loved this book! It’s a great introduction to this fun author and her wonderful entertaining characters!
At first the humor seemed forced, but as I kept reading the humor molded the characters into an entertaining and fun love story. It was refreshing to read about a “smart jock“ while still having the “dumb jock” on the outskirts of the story. It was an enjoyable read that I had a difficult time putting down!
Ok if all you want to read about is the size of his man hood I would of liked to it to have more romance. Her mom and friend were wonderful and funny
New to me author. This is a MF contemporary story set around the professional ice hockey world. Main characters are Violet and the team captain Alex. I listened to the audiobook. I really like the female narrator.
I didn’t want to put this book down. It was a good read. Very entertaining and kept my attention.
