***Standalone Romantic Comedy***With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. She isn’t interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. When Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes … becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match.
Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And text. And email and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts. Suddenly, he’s too difficult to ignore, and nearly impossible not to like.
The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

This was my first hockey romance and I am all for it! While reading this book, I found a new appreciation for hockey players, especially Canadian ones! Lord have mercy, I didn’t know Canadian mannerisms could be so hot! Every time this man said the word ‘Eh’ I got butterflies. I’m not too familiar with Canadian men but if they are half the gentleman Alex was, sign me up! I couldn’t get over how considerate and caring Alex was with Violet, constantly making sure she was comfortable with what they were doing. I was very entertained with Alex’s over the top pursuit of Violet, constantly sending her flowers and gifts to woo her. I found him to be adorably cute, and a little contradictive with how one minute he was bold and suggestive and the next he was awkwardly fumbling over his words, trying to take back what he said.
I think these two were perfect for each other! Both are pretty stubborn at first, Violet in continuously turning down Alex and his pursuance, and Alex persistently trying to get Violet to give him the time of day. They both have the same type of odd, unfiltered humor and I really appreciated that they could be their complete natural selves around each other and accept each other with all their quirks. Their chemistry was hot enough to sizzle an egg on the sidewalk!
This book was definitely unique, as Emma Chase’s praise on the cover claims it is! It honestly took me a bit to really get invested in these characters, I’m talking halfway through the book. It could’ve been that I was just coming out of a several week slump and maybe it went a little overboard on the quirkinesses for my mood at the time? Overall, it was a cute read and I enjoyed the characters and the plot! And Ms. Bullock and her broom
Favorite Quotes:
Buck’s an excellent hockey player. I’d agree, based on his yearly salary alone. No one gets that much money for sucking, not even extremely skilled prostitues. -Violet
”I’m pretty fast if I’m chasing after something I want. -Alex
But passion fades eventually, and the warm, soft balm of love is what keeps the fire burning. -Violet
It’s a steamy read full of sass and humor and hot hockey players. What’s not to like?
Absolutely FANTASTIC !!!!!!!
I LOVED EVERYTHING about this Hockey Romance.
I am not even sure what to say, because for me it was perfection.
It made me laugh, and smile more times than I can count and the characters are so endearing, you fall in love with them straight away.
Alex is a superstar Hockey player with a badboy reputation that is all bravado and one big lie he is actually sweet, kind and not a sexed crazed party guy the press make him out to be.
Violet is just the BEST she is the the kind of friend you always want in your life, she is hilarious and I think we all could see ourselves in her….these two are perfect together and I loved reading their romance as they try to navigate a new relationship, under the pressure of Alex’s fame and reputation.
The story flows beautifully,I could not stop reading Helena Hunting sure has a way with words they left me captivated.I cannot say anything bad about Pucked because for me there is not one thing that I didn’t Love. ….and The Super MC Had me laughing for a solid 15 minutes(No Lie)….Honestly this book is a treat.
Loved it to pieces and a must read.
50 million Stars.
BRILLIANT !!
I LOVED this book. Alex Waters is such a sweet heart. Violet is so funny, I love her humor. I was laughing throughout the whole book. I loved the beaver jokes. A must read! This book also mentions some Darren and Charlene stuff (their book is Pucked Love).
This is by far one of my favorite books. Hockey hottie meets his unique and hilarious soulmate. Funny, romantic, steamy…all the feels. It’s a must -read!
I FINALLY got around to reading the first in the much beloved Pucked series. After reading Kiss My Cupcake earlier this year and it being a 2020 favorite of mine, I was excited to dive into the world of sports romance.
When Violet hooks up with her step-bother’s teammate and NHL player Alex, she assumes it’s a one-night-stand. After all, hockey players don’t exactly have the best dating rep in her playbook–her brother is a regular horndog and her ex was a piece of trash. But when Alex starts sending gifts and flowers and seemingly trying to woo her is it the start of something more?
Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was well written, hot as heck, with fun characters and thorough backstories. The reason it’s not a five star read for me like it is for most people is that I just couldn’t relate to Violet’s character. She was just SO irreverent you had to question the realism. She speaks what’s on her mind to an extreme, most of which is highly inappropriate–at least in certain situations, and it really threw me for a loop. I’m really excited to try the next in the Pucked series, because with different characters I think I could really love it. I mean, hockey romance? With Helena Hunting’s stellar, steamy writing? How could it be bad?
4 stars – 7/10

This hilarious and entertaining story was what I needed right now.
I know I’m pretty late to the party and jumping upon the waggon of this hockey series. I’m glad I finally did though, because I love Alex and Violet. They have an incredible chemistry and their attraction is off the charts hot. I love how honestly and easy the humor flies in this story.
If you haven’t read this book already, it’s perfect to get you out of a book slump, over a book-hangover or lights up your mood after a heavily loaded read.
This book is fun, romantic and loaded with passion and chemistry. Violet is hilarious. There is no filter on that girl. She lives life with so much energy, devotion and a completely open heart. She often forgets how
much she offers others.
Alex has a reputation of being a playboy and that makes Violet wary. The book shows how he had made his mistakes when he was a young professional and has to constantly explain or be measured by that reputation.
PUCKED is hot but heartfelt live story and you should read it.
Alex and Violet are a power couple! I love that we delve right into their relationship and go through their struggles with them. There are so many great parts to this book that everyone needs to read! Violet has such a big personality, but not overbearing. She is caring and loves everyone in her life, and love how Alex becomes such a big part of her life. Everyone needs to read this series!
This was my first exposure to Helena Hunting, and I definitely became a big fan because I went on to buy and read all the other books in this series, plus other of her books as well. But “Pucked” pretty much remains my favorite because I am crazy about the first encounter of Alex and Violet. It is hot, hot, HOT, and also very funny! Plus you get to meet many of the other team members who star in later books in the series, while the ones from previous books pop up to add a familiar warm glow, and, usually, more laughs.
I had to come back and read about Alex and Violet’s story after getting more of a glimpse of their future in the All In series. That said, you don’t have to read one before the other, but I just couldn’t help but love these characters.
The very start of this book had me giggling. It’s a start you wouldn’t normally think of but makes you not want to set this book down.
Alex Waters, Canadian hockey player for the Chicago Hawks, gets his eyes on his teammates stepsister, Violet Hall. Violet originally sees how Alex is… just another one of those hockey turds… until he isn’t.
I truly adored the shyness and awkwardness each of them had around each other until they fully got comfortable. Those awkward moments for them, made for truly laugh out loud moments for me.
Alex may be known as having one of the greatest grand gestures I’ve ever read. It was so adorable, but I loved how they were mature about their conversations and had more of a realistic talk at the end with a little hot romance added in.
Don’t be pucked… read this rom com now, it’s a laugh out loud, happily ever after. Because Super MC always gives a happily ever after 😉
Thoroughly entertaining and fun! Pucked is a super fun page-turning ride!
This is my new favorite series! I’d give Pucked six stars if I could and can’t wait to dive into the next book. Filled with plenty of steam, witty banter and beyond hilarious moments. This sports romance has everything I could want in a story!
The first book in the Pucked series and it kicks off with quite a bang! Pucked is Alex and Violets’ story and man, I don’t think I’ve ever read a quicker heroine!
Whilst I personally really enjoyed Pucked, I can understand why it may be a hit and miss for some. There’s a lot of humour and it’s heavy on the COM but still so good!
Violet is laugh out loud hilarious, sassy and all for her “beaver”.
Alex is the “monster” but he has a down to earth, sweet, unsure side that Violet manages to bring out of him.
With him being the play boy hockey captain, will they manage to find a settled down future? Read it and find out!
I’ve been waiting a long time to read Pucked by Helena Hunting, and I finally bit the big one and did it. Clearly, I should’ve done so sooner, because now I’m ready to binge read the rest of series. Thankfully, I’ve got a few more queued up and ready to go.
Alex Waters and Violet Hall were a lot of fun, and I can see why they’re a favorite couple. Alex was sweet, sexy and determined. Violet was so damn quirky but also relatable, and for the most part, I loved the things that came out of her mouth. (Sometimes the things she said or did got to be a bit much, but it wasn’t enough to keep me from reading.) Their chemistry was smoking, and the two together were awesome.
I also loved all the secondary characters, and I can’t wait to read their stories.
Absolutely loved this from the start, so much so, I read until 3am! It was funny, sexy, sporty and romantic with a bit of over protective step brother thrown in the mix. Violet was super funny with no filter, particularly loved her use of snuffie and the super MC
I absolutely loved this book!!! I cannot wait to read the others in this series. I haven’t read a book so fast in a long time. This is definitely the book to read if you’ve been in a slump!
Where to start? Violet. She is hilarious. You will die of laughter. She has no filter. But man we all need a friend like her!!!
Alex is a sweet guy! You may not think so with his reputation, but what you hear and read aren’t always the truth! I think Alex is a perfect match for Vi but can they balance each other out?
This book has the perfect balance between sexy, funny and angst. I really enjoyed this book and it’s one of my top reads and I have a feeling this series will go on my list for one of the best!!

So I finally got around to reading this, and just after barely getting started I was kicking myself for waiting so long! I finally gave in and purchase the ebook, again so that I could color another page in my coloring book, and also because the author is going to be at Apollycon 2018, which once again I’ll be volunteering at, and now I’ll be so excited to meet her! I don’t think I can express just how much I loved this book. How hilarious it was! How sexy it was! You have to love the MC, and that does not stand for the main character. The part at the end with Violet dressing up MC to be Super MC and tying a little cape on it, drawing a mustache? Man, I laughed out loud at this one. And I was sitting in the same room as my stepmom at the time, feeling a little silly. I’ll be purchasing a paperback of it to get autographed, as well as reading on in the series.
A wonderful book that you won’t regret reading. The main characters are simply amazing. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
It’s only been fairly recently that I stumbled upon this author with her release of A Lie for a Lie. Since I enjoyed that story so well, I’ve been gradually making my way through her backlist. I loved going back and catching up on Alex and Violet’s story.
This is the story that kicked off my new fixation to hockey stories. I even snagged an audio copy. Holy hotness! Violet and Alex were awesome. Ms. Hunting has a true talent of bringing the story to life. These characters have become part of the family.
This story is fun, quirky and oh so enjoyable! I can’t recommend it enough!
