***Standalone Romantic Comedy***With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. She isn’t interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. When Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes … becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match.
Suffering from a complete lapse in judgment, Violet discovers just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. Violet believes her night of orgasmic magic with Alex is just that: one night. But Alex starts to call. And text. And email and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts. Suddenly, he’s too difficult to ignore, and nearly impossible not to like.
The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

2.5 Color Me Conflicted Stars. This book is a whole lot of ridiculous mixed with steamy scenes and over the top language. However, that being said, it did have some totally laugh out loud hilarious scenes which redeemed things somewhat. Violet and Alex are total nerds and really not what the public perceives them to be. Well, in Alex’s case that’s true. Violet doesn’t really have a reason to be in the public eye until she starts dating Alex. This is a totally irreverent book that’s written for pure entertainment and sometimes shock value. If you’re looking for a plot you won’t find much of one here. But, it’s funny, that’s for sure.
I’m so Pucked.
“And I’m naked in front of a porno centerfold with a perternaturally large dick. So this is an inferiority complex. Interesting. I’m sure I can deal.”
Look, this book doesn’t pretend to be something it isn’t. If you want a story that’s fun, hot, a bit crass, light on angst and drama, with a tell it like-it-is heroine, this is the book for you. The humor is over the top, quite juvenile at times and I loved every minute of it. I was laughing out loud for most of the end of the book. If you don’t like beaver humor or talk of monster cocks you may want to skip this one.
”Cockblockers are everywhere tonight, thwarting my attempts at poor decision making.”
Violet Hall has been surrounded by hockey the past 5 years, since her mother married her stepfather. He’s a coach and a scout and her step-brother plays in the NHL. She’s had her own not so pleasant experience with a wannabe hockey player and has sworn she won’t get involved with one again. And that’s all well and good until she meets the captain of Buck’s new team, Alex Waters.
What was only supposed to be one night of fun turned into something so much more. I loved Alex and Violet together, they are both kind of quirky and awkward characters. But they are perfect together. She’s fixated on his MC and he wants to date her boobs.
“I love his penis. I want to give it a sponge bath and dress it up like a super hero.”
“I sleep best when my head is reasting on your delicate pillows of love.”
Sometimes you just need a book that’s not going to hurt your heart or make you think or want to throw your Kindle. This was a perfect Saturday read.
This book was really good Violent reminds me of myself, with the weird things that she is saying. Lol. I Ike how Alex liked her even with her weirdness and didn’t try to change her and make her stop, to me both of them was hilarious together lol. And made a cute couple. I also plan on getting books 2-6 because I definitely want to know about Sunny and Buck situation. And the others.
